i shouldnt even bring this up, cause i don't have the time, space, energy or resources, but i went to the garbage dump to drop a few bags of household trash. ( this is the actual garbage dump, - not a recycler or wrecker) and in that pile was a rust-free, shortbox pioneer 4x4 with straight body panels and an mj dana 44.

I'm just venting here because i really have no business taking anything on at this time but ...   i asked the loader operator about it and he said it was right on the pile and someone saw it and wanted it ( for scrap steel price) so they pulled it off the pile and wieghed it.  ( would cost about $190. to grab it). but that was a week ago and the guy never came back.

I'm pretty swamped right now but  ......

i can't even tell myself that i would use the parts and send the rest back because the whole thing  looked very save-able.

  i need more land .......  :(

$190 is cost for the d44 alone, this one just comes with a few extras.

I'd be grabbing it because it sounds like a total waste and something like that would make me want hunt down the po and drag their new heap to a junk pile. Some people is right.

Take the wife out for a special dinner , then tell her the lump under the tarp in the driveway is only temporary .    :brows:  It's worth a shot , good luck

I would dig a pit in my front yard, put the MJ in, seal it watertight, cover it back up, and when I could get to it I'd dig it up again. Or I'd build super heavy duty scaffolding over another vehicle in my yard and put this MJ on top till I could get to it later. With a will there's a way!!!!!!

Saw this at my local junkyard last weekend, felt the same way. wanted to pull the 44 just on principle, it was half off day too.

Yah no major body damage and the engine was there, interior was a little trashed though. I'm not positive about the rules, but I think unless the whole car is specifically marked 'for sale', you can't buy a whole car off the junkyard lot.

Lots of good parts. Taillights, bumper, rollbar, rear fenders. I would love to see what kind of condition the front brushguard is in. And its even chrome! I need that!

Look at those leaf packs.

I'd try to get that whole rig though, talk about great shape and rare. Or at least grab the fenders, leaf packs, and d44 and clone it.
