huricane4 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hello, I'm from Sweden, and this is my Comanche 1988 Metric Ton. Have rebuilt some but much work remains, It`s a 4.0 with automatic and a Sye-kitted 231 The volvo portals are from a Volvo TGB20 Front axle are modified to driver side drop and the "flange?" redrilled to accept 5 degree caster and 10 degree uptilted pinion. Both axle are 7.5 ratio and are vacuum locked (will proberly install 6.0 ratio later) The plan is to have a "SNOWMonster" Arctic truck style And now some questions:) Does anyone have any picture on any more portalaxled Comanche? The only one i found was this What fender flare are the widest for comanche? Sorry for bad english

dave92cherokee Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 That's a beautiful looking rig you've got. To answer your question the widest flairs I know of for the front will either be bushwackers or I think rustys off road sells some pretty wide ones too.

huricane4 Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 Got the brakes and vacum system completed... Made a new heavy duty trackbar bracket with crossframe support. Ventilation and Locker hose Ventilation block And the dark blue tanks are vacum storage for the lockers The brake is finished but think i have to replace the master clinder to something bigger. Locker controlpanel The 12v vacum valves did get pretty hot so i installed a computer fan... The next project will probably be a handbrake on the transfercase...
huricane4 Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Well didn`t have the motivation to start the construction of the handbrake... So i played a little with some spare parts.. Will modified the portals on the truck the same way when i change the gear ratio. This is the result:
MJCARENA Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Looking good. Just a question, is that copper tubing you are using for brake lines?
