I havent gotten on in awhile as i have been extremely busy with work and helping a buddy get his tj ready for easter jeep safari but today i got to work on the comanche and thought i would share.

For you Truck U fans or have seen Truck U here's a sight i bet you thought ud never see.

Yep a comanche on set. Unfortinately it is not getting anything crazy or be the main vehicle in the show. We pulled the head off and are doing a real life z max test. Today was the first pull apart to take a look at the build up on motor and you bet we found some. So back together it goes and z max added. I will be driving it for the next month with z max and then we are pulling it back apart to see what it did. I will keep yall posted and hopefully add some pictures of the build up and the after. I will also post up when it will air. here's a few more pictures i grabbed today.

Yeah I have I'll find it later, the speed bend was because someone put and aftermarket ball type antenna on it and it was sticking way out the side so I bent it back till I get a junk yard fender with stock antenna. I'm excited to see if it works also.

yeah before it was buzz and someone else, now its matt and bruno. Matt is the announcer and puts on the truck gone wild events and bruno is an nhra drag racer. The way you see them on tv is the exact way they are in person, their personality does not change in front of the camera, which is cool because iv seen a couple of people who change in front of the camera and its noticable, and normally you can tell.

Now as for mine here it is. The only thing iv really done lately is the tires which isnt in the build thread. I thought id have time to work on after finishing up my buggy but that never works out. So maybe one of these days my truck will get worked on. I was trying to get them to do the 97 and up front end swap on the show but it didnt happen. :(

I miss Stacey David. At least he got his own show.

Rob

I have to diasagree with you Rob. Stacy was the worst in my opinion. Completely fake act on TV. I'm not sure where his show is now, but then again, I don't want to know... I can't even stand to look at the guy. Sorry. And I took his image out of your quote so I wouldnt have to look at him again.

I miss Stacey David...

Totally. At least on Gearz he's able to dabble in all kinds of cool stuff outside of the usual 4x4 stuff from when he was on Trucks. Yeah, he built some street stuff too, but I'd say that the majority of what he worked on was lifted vehicles. Then by the end of his time on Trucks it seemed like every other episode he was installing another plug and play tuner and bolting on an exhaust and cold air intake.

... Completely fake act on TV...

You're probably right and he does sound ridiculously scripted... but that's what makes him cool! He puts on the same act and he repeats the same lines over and over again! Ever count how many times in an episode of Gearz he comes back from a commercial and says something like,

  • "Ya know, when it comes to..."
    "Ya know, the world of..."
"Ya know, with the way that..."
"Ya know, since the beginning of..."
    "Ya know, everytime that..."

If you were sit down with a whole bunch of recorded episodes and challenged someone to taking a shot everything he says it, you'd get knocked over pretty quick! image_209027.gif

I like Stacey David and his show. Always have. Those truck U guys could do without adding "dude" or "man" to every sentence!!

Dude, c'mon, man. You don't say "dude" and "man" in every sentence? I've been slipping and calling my dad "dude" a lot lately, and he doesn't seem to like it much. Wonder why?

I like Stacey David, also. Yeah, he's obviously very scripted, but he does it so terribly that it makes him seem more human. Scripted isn't all bad on these shows, either, since you get great descriptions and explanations rather than some of the terms for things that might pop up in a real garage, lol.

  • 2 weeks later...

Idk if it was this truck or not, but I just saw an MJ on an episode this morning, He was "stranded" and allowed the hosts to show off their new Road side assistance equipment. Ultimately after getting the Comanche refired he drove off with the guys fuel can. It was nice waking up to a Comanche on TV ;)
