ok its a known fact you favor what you run. but if you had to swap up what would you run, ill go first . my 35 dana went south faaaast after sitn in the swamp fo a year(before i got the truck) so i found a metric ton amc 20 package dressed it well. you know disk brakes, mossier one peice axles,a detroit locker, yukon 4.10 gears and some redline 75w140 lube. how about yall fellas................

I run a XJ 29 spline 8.25" with ZJ disc brakes in the rear, but wouldn't mind a D44.

Run a disconnect 30 with disco delete and 5-760x joints in the front, but have gone past it's limits a few times. What scares me most about it, though, is the unit bearings. I already lost a wheel on the freeway once, and am replacing 2 or 3 a year. Hope to upgrade to high pinion D44 front axle made from a mixture of Ford, Chevy and Jeep parts WITHOUT unit bearings.

Front JK Dana 44 narrowed to XJ width with 5x4.5 bolt pattern(with the factory 4.10s and E locker)

Rear ford 8.8 w 4.10s and discs

I'm considering changing my mind on the 8.8 because there are starting to be cheaper JK rear 44's out there, and if I could snag one with 4.10s that was complete(either a rubi which has the E locker) or add a locker to the non rubi 44, it would make a decent axle.

I'm getting a 29 spline 8.25 ready for my mj. i put zj disk brakes on it, going to either get an arb or powertrax no-slip, and maybe yukon axleshafts that are supose to be 15-20% stronger. for the 33's ill be running it will be fine

Yup, even stock the 29 spline 8.25 has nearly as strong axle shafts at the Dana 44, and it has thicker tubes which decrease the likelihood of flexing and snapping the axle shaft(like what happens on the Dana 35)

yup i like the 29 spline due to relatively cheap yet strong enough for what ill be putting it thru. i have 2 and paid $100 for each. the draw back is lack of aftermarket support. only axle shafts i found were the yukons, and traction was limited to lock right, no-slip, aussie, and arb.

I like my MJ AMC20 rear. My love for the axle has nothing to due with it's strength. I like it because it came underneath the first year MJ's. I like it because there aren't alot of them around and the new grade 8's on the perfect circle diff cover look sweet...

I wish I had a front 44 with an electric locker..

I picked mine up in loveland a few years back for a song, they pop up on craigslist around the country, but chances are you would need to travel to get one.
