its was already installed when i bought the truck. i would pm hornbrod cause he just had one installed not that long ago.

well, I'm been gathering some parts for this winter's modifications. here is a list

 

have:

rubicon express brake lines

bumptops for front

rear bumper

shackles

 

need:

tubing for longarms, will be going with a true 4-link design

rod ends

limiting straps

front Aussie locker

money :yes:

shocks

 

so pretty soon, it will be tear down time :thumbsup:

well i finally got some time to work on my bumper. A local 4x4 shop made it, but i wanted to add my own touches to it.

 

i plasma cut holes out for the d-ring mounts. nothing is welded in.

 

they go all the way through and will be welded to the bumper mounts too.

 

should be done fairly soon. hoping to get it painted tomorrow.

well i got my 1in lift shackles on this morning before i stuffed my face with food

 

and i love my rear bumper even more now that i've seen it outside

well i hated how the tailpipe hung below the bumper so out came the sawzall.

Bumper pics look good. I like the attention to detail here! I would never have enough patience to cut and fill that section on the end.

 

I'd like to hear your thoughts (after you have used it for awhile) on the receiver hitch. The way I do mine sets it flush to the back and you have to reach under the bumper to put the pin into the hole for the hitch... I didn't like the thought of leaving the hitch out there all by itself to get banged up or hit your knees against it... it also does hinder departure angles a bit... lol

i was gonna mount it flush too. But the way i was it was that the only time i ever dragged my class 3 hitch was on a moderate to steep climb. I don't think i will ever drag it (unless I'm close to straight up and down :yes: )

Enough sucking up - I am thinking about doing the same thing, but I am worried about the exhaust fumes getting in through the slider window - or inside the topper with my pups. Have you experienced any issues with the fumes getting in? I ask because it happens in the CJ/YJ's when they dump straight out the back. Thanks, Rich
