that's worth at least $1000 on eBay!

forget the email for finding out the production number, you need to get on the phone with someone and keep calling until they tell you what we all want to hear....the LAST MJ.

Does anyone know if there is an official Jeep museum? Maybe if there is they could help with production and serial numbers. Ive never had a reason to search to see if there is one, but maybe Ill try today. It would be great to know where your production number falls. Congrats on that find!

I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard many people say they either don't answer or can't, because they don't keep records more than 10 years or something.

keep digging, the info is out there some where. have you tried to get the vin sequence for the last 100 MJs? i know it's kind of the same question you already asked, but sometimes it depends on what you are truly asking for. if it takes human effort to look up just your VIN, they probably won't do it. but if they can forward or cut and paste a range of VINS from that last production cycle, you can kinda figure out where you are. :dunno:

i will do that. i also asked if they knew exactly how many MJ's were built in 92.

well hopefully they will get back to me. good to hear somebody has gotten info from them.
In 1999 a Jeep Author named Jim Allen released a book called "The Illustrated Jeep Buyers Guide". It has some of the most comprehensive information about production numbers in any book I have read.

http://www.amazon.com/Jim-Allen/e/B000A ... epwbk_T1_1

If anyone could shed some light on this, he would definitely be the one or know who to go to for such information. I can't seem to find an email contact on him, but if someone could maybe he could help?

well i received my email back. they don't have the records to say that mine is the last one built, but they did find that the build date was April 24th, 1992.

That looks even better for being one of the last. Made near the end of the month, of the last month they were made.

here are some more pics. i checked all the fluids today and they are all brand new. somebody must have just drained and replaced all the fluids. also has new manifold to cat exhaust pipe, and even the spare tire winch works perfectly! the only thing i need to do is fix the leaking sending unit on the tank and the rear pinion seal and this thing is good to go.
