californla
Hi Guys, I have a friend at Chrysler. We were talking this weekend about the auto industry and about how great MJs were/are. Then I had a great idea: I think it would be a good idea to petition (using my friend as the insider) to bring it back. We thought it would be a good idea to collect as many pictures of guys (and gals) with their mjs (either outside or driving) for a show of force to show that there are devoted end users. So, if you are interested in contributing to the project, drop me a line. No guarantees that it would work, but who knows... Thanks!
aemsee
I work for Chrysler too. They can't sell what they are already making. Nice idea, but I believe they call it pissing in the wind. :D
californla
Haha! I have heard that too. My friend works in marketing and they are desperately trying to figure out new products to revamp the image. We just thought we would give it a try... In any case, pics of you and the Comanche are still interesting and welcome nonetheless.
Pete M
My fear is that they'll bring back the nameplate and just slap it on an unworthy and undeserving "truck". :shake:
californla
yep - mine too. the idea was that a.) they need new blood (and a new pickup for jeep) and b.) there is a loyal following. so, if either the consumer or someone on the inside pitched the comeback with the stipulation that it have all the qualities of the original mj, the idea could get thrust. i have a few good friends in marketing/concept development and en masse type presentations tend to work. so, if you have pics of you and your mj - let's have em and i will try to put something together. LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
They have already got the JT, no need to design something new. Just ad the J8 (actually now being produced in Egypt by Chrysler) rear leaf sprung suspension to it and you'll be set. How about an email stating your interest for them to actually produce it. I hate to say it but sending emails with photo's of 18 year old plus Jeeps isn't going to do anything but annoy them.
californla
well, you never know. they have done it before (not Chrysler but other car companies that had resurrections so-to-speak and they did it starting with the consumer - they even made a commercial out of the work behind it...) Sir Sam
I work for Chrysler too. They can't sell what they are already making. Nice idea, but I believe they call it pissing in the wind. :D No, they call it pissing INTO the wind.

If they sold that truck here in the USA I would beat the doord down at my local dealer to get one. My wife and I bought a new CJ-8 in 1982 and loved it, we still miss it. If you build it they will come.
californla
yep - that is our thought. thanks for the support. basically, if you think its stupid, don't do it. but, if you do think its a good idea (and i hope you do), send away. anyway, i am finally getting involved in this group, so looking forward to meeting some nice people! mvusse
I could post a few pictures of mine. But unlike the ones above, mine *looks* 21 years old. Rusty, dented, mismatched colors on the nose (grey, other shade grey, teal, hunter green). And I like the JK pickup better anyway. Kinda like a CJ8. MiNi Beast
You need more flex, why not build yourself some long arms and be done with it? :shake:
pilotblake
I will put one up when I get one. Stop being so objective and just take a picture next to your truck and put it up. I'm curious myself what other MJ owners look like.
CEThomas
Well here is a photo, not that it would make a difference as they have the Dakota and Ram and not going build anything to take away from Dodge

pilotblake
Maybe there is? Just thought it would be interesting to see the people who run and build these jeeps. This is the best I could come up with trying to take my own picture. Maybe we shouldnt post what we look like :hmm:
reson46
Maybe there is? Yes, there is. Click the link in my previous post and you'll find lots of owner pics. Willy
pilotblake
I guess i was thinking more along the idea of how the post was started. MJs and there owners not random pictures of people doing other stuff. They have facebook for that.
Pete M
You'd be surprised how hard it is to get the guys to do simple things (for example, taking pictures of the trucks NOT in the driveway). The "who am I talking to" thread is probably as good as it gets. :D
