  1. This might help. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21113&hilit=wiring
  2. Go completely off the beaten trail and do suicide doors.
  3. Ive seen alot of wrecking yards do this as well, good use for a junk tire :agree: Most JYs will give you a crappy tire too. Works great. Especially for hauling them. One of my favorites is a furniture dolly so you can move it around in the garage. $14 at HF and its good for 1000 lbs (so it claims)
  4. I grabbed a NOS one off ebay from this guy a couple of weeks ago. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2582-Ori ... ccessories He drop the price to $9.99 Make him an offer of $10 and see if he takes it. It showed up in about 4 days. Its perfect. Has the fog lamp holes but it also has the bumperette holes. Oh and yes it's a true MOPAR part.
  5. On it's way.
  6. Was it this one? http://www.rol.ac.psiweb.com/jeep/
  7. If it a SWB most likely a 18 gal. Anyhow, I have one from a SWB that had a 2.5. The 4.0 pump will fit the unit. Will PM details.
  8. IT'S ALIVE!!! :clapping:  Replaced enough parts to fire her up today. Cranked up first try and purrs like a kitten. $1280 invested at this point. Only thing left is to get an electric fan and charge the A/C. I have to swap the radiator as the one the guy gave me has a crack in it. Glad I just filled it with water till I knew it was good. Have a spare in the garage. Will work on cleaning the interior and then by weeks end I should have it doing DD duty. ;)
  9. :agree: Here's a recent thread with good links on how to's viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24411
  10. 4.0 or 2.5? What size tank? Might be able to help.

    Another Project:

Nice work. It's really funny to see what you are having to replace as the one I just bought is getting the same parts. :D I'm going on the cheap though as I'm not looking to flip it right now. Just going to get it back together and make it road worthy for a DD for awhile.
  12. Glad to hear you made it across ok. Hope you get settled in and find a nice rust free MJ to play with. On a side note, update your location in your profile. :D
  13. Thanks. I'll keep this in mind if I don't come up with one locally in the next 30 days. That's how long I have to return this one for a swap or refund.
  14. Yep. Finding them cheap was a lot easier before cash for clunkers. :fs1: I could find ones in the 1500s that had no body or mechanical issues. Now everyone wants 5k for them. :shake:
  15. Just told my glass guy that I wanted the later rubber trim instead of putting the metal trim on. He was happy because he didn't have to screw with those plastic clips. Just remember that it's the black goo that holds the window in. The rubber or metal just fills the gap.
  16. More than likely it's the coil, snake thingy that everyone has mentioned. However, if you roll it down and it goes below the rubber wipes and will not go all the way up, then the swivel that attaches the window to the coil has flipped. My write-up should help you out if you decide to replace the coils. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... =9&t=12404
  17. I believe it is the forrest green. I doubt it would have been on there for more than a few hours had it been in the immediate area. I had to drive 45 mins to get to it out in the country. :agree: It has high miles, 178000. However the story is that those are highway miles back and forth to college. I'll find out this weekend hopefully how well it runs when I get the radiator back in it. Put the power steering pump and tension pulley in as well as the ac bracket with new fan today. Only engine parts I need now are an airbox, condensor, tranny cooler, and electric fan. Should have that by Sunday.
  18. Thanks  I was really in the market for a 2dr but this will do for awhile. The color did pretty much help me decide. I've always like the green. :D Paint is in good shape. A nice wash and wax and it should really shine. Will look a little funny with the silver front and if I get the hood this weekend. But can't be too picky when 97+ XJs don't make it in the JY often. At least not in good shape.
  19. Well I had busy afternoon which ended up pretty good. I found a 2001 XJ on craigslist last week and almost jumped at it but then this morning it was listed again at a lower price. So, I gave the guy a call, got the details, and took the afternoon off. Met the guy, inspected the Jeep and after a brief talk, I had purchased a 2001 XJ for $850. It has some damage from a late night meeting with a deer, but should fix up just fine. A ding here and there but I was just looking for a possible DD to give the TJ a rest but nothing that I had to spend a lot on. Here she is once I got her home. Did I mention that it has new tires with less than a 1000 miles on them? Interior needs a good cleaning but it's intact. Here's the damage. The radiator was toast along with the condensor and header panel. Drivers side fender needs replaced and the firewall straighten back out but nothing too bad. Power steering pump and fan needs replaced. Just so happen that I stopped by the JY and pulled the parts that will get it back on the road. Will go back this weekend and get a few other things. So all in all it was a good afternoon.
  20. I would love to have 3.73s over my 3.55s. I think they are the best fit for a mild wheeler street jeep. Keeps fuel economy somewhat good with slightly larger tires, you don't loose as much pep, and your rpms stay close to the sweet spot at 65.
  21. Yeah after I posted I got to thinking about the painted flares. If the air dam is original paint, it would only make sense the flares came painted. On the lower trim, on that truck, it doesn't appear wide enough to be original. Also the piece at the front of the bed should go all the way up to the edge and the rear piece should be about a half inch to inch beyond the tail light front edge. Forgot to mention the overspray on the lower control arm. It's a nice truck but no way worth more than it rolled off the lot for new.
  22. Well lets see if I can throw some other things on this. What a joke, original paint. If it's a pioneer, where's the dual hockey stick stickers down the side or the pioneer emblem. I've never seen a pioneer with paint matched fender flares. Oh, didn't they stop the 10 slot grill in 87? Nice zip tie on the 101 connector. For that much money you think he could of replaced the busted center console. I never knew the factory am/fm was made by Blaupunkt. That discoloration on the carpets indicates moisture has been under them. No jack? No paint on the tailgate handle. Is that the right full cluster for a 88? Can't remember. Lower body trim has been replaced. Only original paint on the truck is the air dam that they forgot to paint. It also appears to have the newer rubber around the windshield. Someone get the VIN so we can get a build sheet.
  23. Use the later style liner. They have a black sticky adheasive that if carefully handled, can be used again. I got mine from the JY out of a 96 XJ I believe. Not sure what year they switched to these.
  24. Midget with a sponge. :D
  25. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/paint-codes/jeep.htm It should be on the label plate on the firewall drivers side.
