  1. you mean it wouldn't survive you, your hacksaw, or your lead-foot.
  2. lol, we're saying the same thing...i was applying mine to spring under and you to spring over. I was just testing you :P and my math skills ;)
  3. i'm 6'1" and have no problem with the rocker bracket height except for the rearview mirror. everything else is GREAT. it'll look better with the black interior ;) i'm excited to get one!
  4. haha, i'm gonna marry this girl. she just don't know it yet ;) (we've known each other for 8 years...so since we were 12, we've always liked each other but didn't find that fact out til this year, and we're practically best friends we know so much about each other) she'll be my first wife. j/k we'll see how it all goes :P so far no attachments and nothing awkward could ever possibly arise.
  5. kinda lame until you do it...it'd be pretty darn funny with pix. better yet, drop your pants and sit on it and read a magazine...wear shorts that are tan underneath so you can't get in trouble for exposing yourself or anything. they can't fine you or get you in trouble..nothing illegal would be done...
  6. haha, i'm single...well, more or less ;) can you say yay to beneficial friends? (who are girls)
  7. i left the leaf springs out for that very reason...thickness of axle tubes and thickness of spring perches were all i took into account. by that same token though, it would all reverse if a smaller diameter tube or smaller thickness perch were put on it.
  8. try it and find out. you'll probably need a brake controller and electronic assist brakes on the rear...
  9. ok, gotcha. now how would i "pull a vacuum"? (I have no r12 in the system, whatsoever.
  10. it's in the random pictures or one of the picture threads, and yea, it's really sweet. the best job i've ever seen done matter of fact.
  11. on the same note the sum of a lower (spring under axle of different thickness) is the [new axle OD minus the old axle OD] plus the [thickness of the new perch minus the thickness of the old perch] if i'm not mistaken...old thickness has to be taken into account as such. just an observation
  12. i don't know what evac means, or what fittings need to be changed, or what vac testing is. i'm an a/c novice...not one of my trucks has had it with the exception of the 89...which is not yet mine...
  13. actually, there are a very, very select few 85's out there...but they are all test vehicles. I believe my last count on them was 8 or so. first public year was 86, and in 86 the options were the 2.5 4 cylinder, 2.1 Renault turbo diesel, and the 2.8 chevy v6. the 2.5 and 2.1 stayed for 87 and the 4.0 replaced the 2.8.
  14. they can't sell refill kits in wisconsin...new law doesn't allow it, only mechanics and dealers can do it, and they can't sell it to a person...so i'd have to go down in illinois to do it. I WILL test the condensor before it goes in. what I will do is submerge it with the exception of the input and output ends, plug the output end, and shoot air through it. if bubbles come out, i need a new one, if not, it's probably good and all I have to worry about is the fittings.
  15. wheel to wheel and as stated, gas tank protection...DEFINITELY bet a thick steel skid plate
  16. nice. even tho it's a magnet, i would tag them on the wiper...if they're anal about paint they may not be happy lol.
  17. buy the ones with the bar pins, those are for the front. the rears can't have bar pins...but you can remove the bar pins at a very minor risk to the bushing. usually ya buy the fronts, and the rears. not a set of 4 matching ones.
  18. yea, i want to test it before it's in the truck...don't wanna waste my time. i'm glad yours works!
  19. slightly wider, but compareable
  20. 10-4
  21. that fits pretty nicely...you could just plate like the other one with some real metal and join everything together so it looks like 1 beefy frame...
  22. I don't have a/c in the 3800, but DO have an a/c box to go into it when i convert it to black interior. what all do i need to change in the box to make it good? is there any way to pressure test the condensor and make sure it's good? (air hose/dunk it in water/plug one end trick should work right?) then which fittings need to be changed...i'm using a 4.0 dryer and such.
  23. hehe, i just wanted to bring that up and say i appreciate your knowledge
  24. nope, your options from factory were either/or. decals or badge.
