yea but yours doesn't have a dana 44 or a yellow-top battery does it? thought not :P. the rear end alone is worth the price, the front gearset is worth $150 to me as I need one desperately to match my 8.8 rear that I have going in the 3800. aaaaand the guy who i'm fixing's truck is giving me $350 for the tranny and all 4x4 components (and my other 3.55 front axle). so i'm making money easily. plus i don't want a parts xj in good shape...i'd be too inclined to fix it

you mean enter the cab? that's for the trans computer. there are two of them...one under the dash on the right side (it mounts onto the kneeboard of the dash panel), and one on the front left inner fender-well. I believe that I have that trans. computer laying around somewhere, so I will go look here in a bit and post up a pic of the connector. idk how good it is, but if you need it you can have it for $5 plus shipping (less than 15 all-told)

no no no, you mis-understand. the 96 style xj's floor pan changed, and along with it the ENTIRE seat system. the comanche bench brackets won't work AT ALL. you'd have to make completely custom mounting tabs either way you'd mount it (be it on comanche bolts or making new bolt mount spots). cruse switch won't mount into the gm steering wheel, but seeing as that switch is on the steering wheel you could actually pull all the wires for it and mount it on your dash or something in the MJ. you just won't be able to put it on your column. the 96 steering wheel won't mount to the gm style column either.... in 95 the cherokee became a whole different animal

mp, idk why I get so lucky. tj, I'll take pics. idk how dirty the carpet is or if it's cleanable (seats are dirty so i bet floor is too), and the center console is a full console...that may end up in the 89 while I do the custom bench seat up. i'll know more in a week when i pick it up and really tear it apart.

lol, if we're headed that way. i think 89eliminator is trailering his MJ and i'm 99.9% sure I am trailering BOTH manches coming in my ride. so we could have a "trailer caravan" followed by a manche :brows: idk if we're taking that route, or if we're even headed down at the same time...I'll talk to wade and find out.

lol, i succeeded. it's a convenience for now, and since this truck is a sorta clean one that isn't wheeled, i don't really wanna make a tire carrier for it in the bed (if i even had time to do it anyways...if I'm not at work, I'm on here because the day's spent or i'm on my break).

my spare tire carrier broke...the cable rusted through. so after 4 months of not having a spare, I decided to fix it. completely removed it, blasted it all, painted it, cut the rusty end of the cable flush and welded it so it wouldn't fray, put it through the tire holder thing and clamped it back so it wouldn't fall off. then I put on a really really nice spare that I had for it...it's only a 27.5" tall tire but it will work in a pinch.

ebay it with a reserve of $300 and state what the reserve is. it will either make that reserve or go higher. either way, easiest $300 AT LEAST you've ever made

contrary to the pictures, the front axle is good. the tierods are fubar. it's an 87 4.0 aw4 auto with the power/comfort option, grey interior, and dana 44 rear axle. the gear ratio is strangely enough a 3.73 ratio. yes, the frame is bent and yes, the body is rusty. it doesn't have power but does have a/c, and it also has a yellow-top battery that may or may not still be good (can't get it out without bending back the front end...but it's not leaking and doesn't appear cracked) interior is dirty but not ripped. mileage is 216,000 but it's had a new engine put in and a new tranny and comes with paperwork I'm told. basically, i couldn't pass it up for the price. now i just have to go and pick it up with the duramax and the trailer...it's 1 hour away and i don't have time til next sunday. anyways, I'll be selling parts from this...the 4wd tranny and all components will be going to a guys truck i'm converting, the dana 44 is going to be available to you guys if my brother doesn't want it for his truck, I'll have doors, seats, etc. to sell as well. selling will begin in 2 weeks after I strip it.

:agree: I remove my stock padding every time, and then put in ceramic insulator pads that I get from my grandpa's leftover stuff. it's some ceramic stuff he uses for building firefighter practice towers...they won't start on fire and don't hold moisture. idk what they are called tho...

my brother Steve and his friends just did theirs on sunday...got a ladder and climbed to the second tier of the school (2 levels) on the parking lot side and hung a HUGE banner that said something like "Fahq Freshys" and Seniors Rule 2007. cops kept driving by so they had to throw the ladder down on the second tier and lay flat not to be seen...then when they were done they ran to the parking lot at the workout place next to the school, loaded up the ladder, and left. Steve got followed in his truck with the ladder by the dodge charger cop until he took a quick couple of turns, pulled in a driveway, and shut off everything. apparently it's all been taken lightly as he's not in any trouble...

not very...but if someone slapped one on the 3800 i wouldn't be too appreciative...and that guy has DEF. got a new paint job so I say unless you know the person, respect them while messaging "hey, look over here"

Hey we're not all dicks, we just get tired of people not searching. i know not all of you are dicks, BUT the search program on naxja turns up infinite things that are mildly related, to say the least. if you're new to the club or xj's and ya don't know much about them, it's much better info to get things firsthand. everyone should understand that. I always say "well that's been covered in here (link) and check that out, yours sounds a little different etc... just cause it's nicer. btw i'm on naxja and IMO the moderator Ghost is a complete @$$hole. pardon the language, but someone posted up asking why his post got deleted and it was because other people turned it into an @$$hole fest of flaming, then ghost deleted it without informing the original poster and when the orig. poster asked why, he went all ape$#!& on the guy and was saying crap like "because I'm a mod. and i can do whatever i want, that post was out of hand (that's a fair reason), and you watch your mouth cause you're blue and you don't pay for this so you have no say. that post has been deleted cause i made him out to be an @$$hole and it got out of hand with EVERYONE going off the deep end. not as bad as pirate, but comancheclub is the club to be on if you want fairness and true knowledge.
