    Junkyard finds

I can get you matching wagoneer burgundy seats (cloth middles/plaid pattern) and matching door panels from the junkyard here...for cheaper than half that. ...and I have 3 middle glass panes laying in my milkhouse attic :P
  2. :( the top two lights are the low beams and the bottom two lights are the high beams...they are different and I don't believe h4 lights are available... mine's goin on the 89 I think, along with my brusghguard

    Gas Prices?

no clue man. and btw, they've done tests on a 7' bed/truck in a wind tunnel and proven that gas mileage is better with the tailgate up. that's cause of the whirling air creating a "sheet" of air that continuously rolls around in the bed, blocking off new air from catching on your tailgate. mind you, that theory is out the door if you have ANYTHING in your bed (toolbox, old boot, etc). I'd say 1 mpg or so with a manche...
  5. making custom headers is NOT that hard. I put the camaro engine in my truck...that required custom mounts, headers, header panel, intake, bellhousing (some notching to fit the starter in), y-pipe, wiring, and hoses. but i got'r'done pretty easy and it works like a charm...most of the time (some wiring gremlins...well, 1 and i've found the source :D)

    Gas Prices?

bedcover will help gas mileage too
  8. vac. disco is vacuum from the t-case not anywhere else, so that leak isn't your problem with emissions.
  9. if it is and you don't want it, can I be first in line? I'm desperate for one...
  10. they had too much time
  11. seats are interchangeable, brackets aren't. that's fact
  12. link don't work
  13. seats are identical, brackets are NOT
  14. i have a certified heat gun, not a hair dryer..it gets hotter and pulls up the decals better. trick with the goo gone is to wipe once or twice with one rag, and then get a new rag...otherwise it leaves even more residue.
  15. see, I like the low look. but I HATE the wheels stuffed into fenders look. and I am probably putting TJ rear flares on it all around in the future, so cutting will probably happen...just not now. I'm gonna do the SUA 4.5" rear for now, and if i don't like it maybe i'll shed a tear and then put the stock springs on and SOA it...my brother or my dad can then use the rear springs, as neither of them wheel their comanches. kinda funny with all the manches we have that not one of them is really for wheeling...with the exception of this one. I fixed this one by removing most of the dent, replacing the grille and repairing the header panel plus replacing the bumper...now i just have to smooth it out a bit after i remove the fender flare less than 5 hours spent on it and parts i already had. oil change, tranny fluid change, and i get the 89 for 900 dollars, but he keeps the nice tires on it.
  16. junkyard for accessories. ebay or a local store for fog lights...any will do, unless you're looking for OEM in which case, good luck. as for the a/c, check wiring...it's probably faulty wiring somewhere.
  17. heat gun, goo gone, and plenty of rags. 20 min. tops to get it all on one side.
  18. good point, i'll go truggy! ha, no, this will be a DD/winter truck/wheeling truck. i don't care about gas mileage...i'd rather have a vehicle that i can drive year round. part of the goal is to stop driving the 3800 and keep the mileage down. I even am building a shed to store the 3800 in, on a cement pad where a building used to be.
  19. drill out the rivets and spot welds holding the mj mounting brackets to the slide rails. do the same on the xj seat brackets. swap over with a bolt and some welding. beware that there are a few different types of xj seats, the rocker, plain slider, power, and all 3 of those are available from 2 doors with tip-forward action. you CAN'T convert the power one over with mj brackets, you have to go completely custom on those. you WILL get an extra 3 to 4 inches of seat height with the rocker type, as well as they are moved inward about 3/4" (redrill and weld to accomodate). people don't like the extra height...I do, so that's what I have. the plain slider seats are a direct swap to the mj lower brackets. either way you do it, you will have some fab work. unless you get ones from an mj but they are rare
  20. $80 to remove your old window and install the new one. make sure your rubber gasket/trim ring is good, and scrape all of the goo off the back of the split rear window frame. if you do it yourself, any parts store worth a lick of salt should be able to get it/have it in stock. when installing, you will need to remove your rear trim panels (and headliner preferably) and clean the crap outta the window frame on the truck and the actuall window, put on the gasket around the edges and goop the crap out of it. take masking tape and tape it in place, and leave it sit for at least a day, preferably 2 to 3, as if you drive the cabin pressure or pressure of a/c or air coming in will blow it out. I've done it both ways and will ALWAYS pay to have it done from now on...it's worth the money.
  21. Thanks, I’ll research that cat. I’ve never heard of one that controls co2 before. The truck has a brand new cat in it but prolly just a standard replacement. I’m going to have to look at the engine again. I thought it had an egr from the renix swap. They do a visual on that here in pima county. I am just learning the renix stuff and don’t have much reference yet because my ’91 xj doesn’t have it. I am familiar with the egr system that’s in my J20 though. Any similarities? What lower cable are you referring too? I thought I got everything I needed as far as a mechanical speedo was concerned. I’ll do some research and get whatever I need because I need cruise control. I’m already glad I signed up here. I was going to wait until I had a more decent rig to show off and post it in the Comanche showoff sticky. if it's running renix and has the egr...then it's probably a renix head and intake as well...i'm no expert on that, so post up pics and others are sure to help. they have an nox reducing catalytic converter so I'd assume there's something like that for the co2. do you have an evap canister? regarding the speedo cable, you have the short upper cable and the small connector that attatches to it that has 2 wires going to a connector correct? that's the UPPER half of what you need. now you need the lower cable that attatches to it...the one that is in your truck won't work because it's too long and doesn't have a nut on the end to screw into that connector (Speed sensor). you probably don't need to switch over the speedo cluster to do this...you may if the cables have different connectors.
  22. 70% of the mj's you'll see didn't have them.
  23. GET IT! THEY'RE RARE which is why they're a big deal. if you don't want it, i would like to be first in line for it...can you get it for me if you don't want it?
  24. for that cruise control you will need the lower cable as well...the one currently in it isn't gonna work
