  1. I have a bit of installer experience. The install can make an expensive window less efficient than a cheap window if done improperly. As far as what brands are good and bad I'm not alot of help.
  2. I would highly recommend this route. Makes life alot better. Lol
  3. Looks like you just became a top tier hurst salesman. Lol I'm suspecting there's gonna be a short run on the inventory of a carts in shifter....
  4. When you get it changed could you shoot a pic of it from the drivers seat? Ive always shared the thought that the shifter that came with the short shifter wasnt quite right.
  5. Let me be the first to say thank you for joining us. The members are what makes the community, and Comancheclub.com is hands down one of the best jeep communities ever. The "staff" that works both on the forum and also behind the coding are excellent at maintaining an amazing forum for all of us to gather on. And some how the love for mj's is only shared by good peoples.
  6. Congrats on the little one. And welcome home. I agree with what was said about the gauges looking better than digital dash. <---waiting and ready to see the xj build.
  7. don't trust the stock dash gauges to show accurate readings.
  8. I also hit water jacket on mine 30yrs ago when dad and if put mine in the cj. I freaked out when it happened. Dad calm and collected, says its ok we'll just wrap it in teflon tape. Never had a problem since. Funny how time works. I had forgotten about having to drill and tap holes.
  9. I purchased the one in my cj from 4wd hardware years ago. Quality was top notch back then. Sorry I'm not much help beyond that.
  10. Whewww. Thought I was losing it there for a minute. (not that I ever had "it" to begin with)
  11. That I definitely understand. I self lubricate my nitrile gloves during use also. I find it simplifies removal, but would definitely complicate the record scenario.
  12. I thought the hot\cold door was cable actuated?
  13. Understood. Just seemed backwards to me, but then again I prefer to wrench with gloves on.
  14. Why not just wear the gloves for the dirty work and take them off and flip records?
  15. This is getting tough to watch, I'm to impatient. Seriously excited for these.
  16. If you remove the tow mirrors (I wouldn't) don't trash them. They are a bit of a rare option. The braces inside the door are a tow mirror option only thing. In fact the braces may be more rare than the mirrors.
  17. I said more difficult, not impossible. I'm a "chippy" by trade metal is foreign to me.
  18. Just remember with wood it's more difficult weld holes shut if you drill in the wrong spot.
  19. Understood. Zooming may not even be enough on that screen.
  20. Pete: You can see the boot for the clutch master in one of the pics. Most likely case that Pete is aluding to is that the clutch master cylinder is or has leaked fluid onto the fuse block and "melted" the plastic. Common issue with our trucks. Best fix is a new master cylinder and a fresh fuse block, typically sourced from a xj with auto (No master to leak) trans.
  21. Nothing is good until the new is worn off. I recently (3-4yrs ago) purchased the newest truck I have ever owned. As much as I enjoy my 2013 2500hd ltz crew cab Chevy, I find myself choosing to drive the mj when the weather is appropriate for the mj to leave the shop. The 13 feels like cheap plastic to me. Not that the mj doesn't contain it's share of plastic but it just seems to be a better quality built vehicle. I have felt this way about automobiles for some time. The problem seems to be continually getting worse with the build quality sliding further towards making profits and farther from a quality product. That said, if for some reason I had to find a replacement for the 13 I would most definitely be shopping for probably a clean low mileage vehicle from the previous century. A clean low mile rust free unicorn would definitely make the list of possible purchases. It's just an automobile and I wouldn't be buying museum quality.
