  1. DAMN! you've been on a roll!
  2. Grand total for 2022 that aren't mine: 0. The closest I came was thinking I saw one with the bed off, but the next day I got a better look and it was actually a Toyota.
  3. Hello JRE friends followers, and customers: As some of you who are close to me may know, I recently accepted a job offer for a mechanical engineering position. Unfortunately, I predict I will not be able to continue the business once I start this job. Therefore, as of January 1st, Jeremy's Radio Emporium will cease to operate as a business. From that point, no new orders will be taken. From this point (December 8) onward, I will not be able to offer warranties on products. All existing warranties will be fully supported until their end date, as will warranties on orders made before this writing. In the near future, I will begin offering a variety of as-is radios and radio accessories. If you would like to purchase radios or radio parts in bulk, please let me know. If you would like access to schematics to perform DIY repairs or to repair the radios I service commercially, please let me know. The website will remain up, with the commercial elements removed, as a resource to the Jeep community for the forseeable future. This has been a rewarding journey full of excitement for me, and while I am very excited for the next phase of my life, I will always remember this business and the Jeep community fondly. Thank you all so much. - Jeremy
  4. You'll need to clean the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission. One of its jobs is to prevent the truck from being started unless the truck is in park or neutral. Over time, the electrical contacts in the switch get dirty and make intermittent contact. If you can get it off the transmission without breaking it, it can be disassembled and cleaned. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoNSSrebuild.htm
  5. Slightly cheating since this is from a couple of months ago. Devil Canyon, Wyoming.
  6. Well, that's kind of a shame. Guess I picked the right time to replace mine. Guess it'll be a custom bent stainless piece when this one rusts out. I would like to point out that the quality of the steel on these was always kinda garbage - my southern truck is on its third tailpipe in 31 years, two of them being Walker. I know this because I have a receipt for its replacement in 2001. These weren't high quality parts, and if something is going to go obsolete for our trucks, an easily replicated exhaust part is probably one thing we can survive without.
  7. The offer is inked, and I've chosen my start date! This is going to be a big step up for me in so many ways it's not even funny. Anyone on here live or know anyone who lives in northern Alabama? Areas to avoid or look into? Relocation is very likely and will be to the Muscle Shoals area. I see some nice places (with Jeep houses) within 10 minutes of work, but am willing to look into other areas too. Since this is officially a firearms thread, I don't think I ever showed this one off... One of 650 semi-auto, collapsible stock CETME-LC carbines to ever be made by a company called MarColMar for the US market. This was the compact version of the Spanish service rifle during the 1980s, and due to shoddy quality control (and magazines) it sucked. This is a re-engineered, product improved version made specifically for the civilian market using a mix of new production and surplus parts. It shoots 5.56 and takes most AR-15 magazines. It's a roller delayed blowback system like the H&K G3, which makes it very soft shooting, and gives it an absolutely nuclear case ejection pattern. Mine has the optional picatinny rail, and a barrel extension to bring its "correct" 12.5" barrel out to 16", which can be removed in the event I want to turn it into an SBR and have the original barrel length.
  8. How are they holding up?
  9. Might be one of those weird 86 only things. I've never even seen those before, but I wouldn't even have been looking.

While I don't have much in the way of actual talent, I did play quite a bit in high school. Haven't played at all in about 8 years, but I've been thinking recently maybe I should start again. 2010 Telecaster American Special. Maple neck on alder body. Hardly ever played, because I got expensive taste in gear not long before I stopped playing altogether. I tuned it tonight and played around a little bit - yep, I'd be starting back at 0 with pretty much everything.
  11. Are there any markings on the cluster connector that could help identify it?
  12. I interviewed at a large aluminum recycling company today, and I barely got my shoes off before I got a call from the recruiter saying that the company was ready to prepare an offer. I'm gonna be an in-juh-near!
  13. The MJ HO dash harness still doesn't have any provision for stuff like the immobilizer, ABS or overhead console (however, the engine harness contains a section of the harness that runs out to the outside temp sensor). I don't know what drove the decision to add certain things. I've certainly never seen an HO MJ with a low washer warning light as factory equipment. You can add the cruise control with just the stalk and servo on the HO years.
  14. The dash harness wiring being present seems to be HO only.
  15. Very well could be. Adhesives like this are quite picky when it comes to adhering (ha) to the proper specifications especially in such an important role as a car window. It might have worked fine for a few years after the truck was assembled, but as the urethane aged, it being stuck to paint could very well have made the difference between a leak and a non-leak. Certain years of Volvos had major issues with the front windshield adhesive, and I'm wondering if something like this is to blame. It's nice to see all of the shortcuts that Jeep took making our trucks, and as an engineer it's interesting to see the ramifications of those shortcuts 30 years later. I knew they made some, but damn. Great to know when I'm trying to sleep at night
  16. Ammoseek is an amazing resource.
  17. And best of all... my moment of fame will be a left turn into a cheap BBQ place after work.
  18. Used oil report! This oil change consisted of a lot of short trips and a lot of stop-and-go, so I'm not really worried, but I will be changing my oil more frequently in the future.
  19. The 4.0 actually doesn't even have a timing chain tensioner. It just lets it slap around with the only form of "tensioner" being a stationary guide that slips into the timing cover. Later engines changed the chain design to quiet it down a bit.
  20. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266004199998?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=a8527d199f864019b1270bae799272f5&bu=44054885904&ut=RU&exe=0&ext=0&osub=-1~1&crd=20221123034646&segname=11021 These can be used to add the "low washer" light to HO MJs. I don't think the plug is there on the Renix MJ harness, but feel free to prove me wrong.
  21. I don't think so. I think the OEM ones sit behind the dash bezel just like a factory radio would.
  22. This is Mike Barrett's truck. Also, my 91 MJ had those horrible flag mirrors. It had them on both sides, however. They were truly awful. Nothing to be sought after, and they left four nasty holes in the doors that needed to be filled and caused rust underneath the mounting points.
