  1. I know that truck. It is in 29 Palms. There are major cab cracks coming out of the rear window. They go almost to the doors!
  2. Do both. Bed line the floors and put the carpet over it
  3. Check the manifold for cracks. It's a common problem.
  4. 4.0 or 4.7?
  5. It is still alive and well. I sold it to a buddy of mine and bought it back. It is still sitting at his place in north Georgia. I will drag her home at some point. She was a great truck. He daily drives it and takes good care of it. Thanks for the kind words.
  6. Yes they will. Doug sent me the template to test out on my truck. All measurements look good. They don't go all the way to the very bottom of the bed or fender though. As Doug explained that is for rocker armor fitment.
  7. They will fit but they will cover half the fuel door. Napier flares are a better fit. Doug has a post in the vendor section and also offers a Comanche Club discount.
  8. Huh, I remember asking the same question when I converted Onyx because the shifter cable was in a different location? Who knows that was a few years ago and I used to drink a lot. EDIT: it was Betty, not Onyx that I had the cable issues with. Told you I drank a lot, lol! http://comancheclub.com/topic/36957-need-a-pic-of-the-shifter-cable/?fromsearch=1
  9. That looks like a 97+ firewall. If I'm not mistaken the shifter cable is in a different location on the late model.
  10. A 3/4 truck towing a 5000# trailer has a hell of a better chance of stopping it than a 4000# MJ stopping the same weight. My days of towing unsafely are gone and over. I have a CTD 2500, 4x4, CC, Long box for that duty. I also has a brake controller, WDH and a sway controller. Is my Cummins a bit too much truck to tow an MJ or my 6000# travel trailer? I say no. Just like a torque wrench, you don't want to be on the either end of its limits. I choose to purchase the right tool for the job, instead of making one work at its limit. Take all the advice that was given in these posts and draw your own conclusion.
  11. LTBs are bias ply. They flat spot when they sit more than 4 hours. You have to drive on them for about 45 minutes to warm them back up and take the shake out of them. I ran them for about 3 weeks on my old truck. They are a horrible tire.
  12. Those turned out great! Where did you get the chrome molding? Do you have a part number so I can find it state side?
  13. The Laredo tail lights are worth that alone!
  14. 10 ply tires are way to much for a light MJ. It will ride like a dump truck and they will never air down enough to flex off road.
  15. Congrats Jim! You got yourself a real keeper there. I saw first hand what she has to put up with! I'm happy for you both. Bo
  16. Get the cat HOT before you take it in. Run it down the highway with the OD off and keep the revs up for about 15 mins. Then get it to the smog shop before it cools off. They seem to pass easier with the cat hot.
  17. Just because you can do it does not mean you should. You got lucky that you did not have to stop in a hurry. That trailer would have pushed the XJ right through whatever you were trying to avoid. I was towing a Mustang on a car trailer behind my WJ. The WJ had a V8, 4X4, discs on all four corners and a brake controller for the trailer. The trailer had brakes but I did not know they didn't work. I was cruising along with the Mustang in tow and all of a sudden a light changed from green to red. I hit the brakes to slow down and there was very little stopping going on. Getting closer to the intersection I really stood on the brakes. The ABS went retarded and the trailer just kept shoving the heavy WJ forward. I eventually got it stopped half way through the intersection, just missing a car that was turning in front of me. The WJ wieghs a lot more than an MJ, the brakes are far better and it still was not up to the task of towing a trailer. If you are going to do it. You better make certain that the trailer has brakes and they work properly.
  18. I fixed it for you
  19. If you plan on it starting make sure you re-ground the ground wire behind the left tail light. It is the ground for the fuel pump.

  21. Archer colors, no other option.
  22. Don't settle for a POS because of an impulse buy. Be patient and wait until a good truck comes up. There are members all over the place that will go check out a truck and give you an honest opinion.
  23. The parts he has a a dime a dozen. I threw away 3 complete interiors when I moved. If the interiors were complete black interiors than they would be sought after parts. A D30 is nothing special, a AX-15 is ok, a rusted bed is worth nothing, I wouldn't run a cRusty's lift he they paid me, an HO swap is easy to do on a Renix truck. There is nothing on that truck that is worth more than a few hundred dollars. It is a junker and you don't want it. There is a reason he is selling. He is seeing you as a sucker and is about to screw you over to make up for his bad choice to buy it in the first place. Trucks in the south are easy to find, 90% rust free and cheap. DO NOT BUY THAT TRUCK!
