  1. I have a 4.5" lift on my 89. I am using RE 4.5" coils, RE DBs, stock arms and a JKS TB in the front. The rear is comprised of Hell Creek 4.5" leaf packs (non metric ton). My shocks are cheap white rockets and my ride sucks. I have been searching for a softer shock and have been coming up empty handed. Bilstein 5100s don't feel much different. I can't find OME shocks in the size I need and the same deal with parts store Monroes. Once I figure out what shock gives me the best ride I will be a happy Jeeper. Right now I can't stand the ride of my truck. My 3/4 ton Dodge rides better. I guess where I am going with this is 99% of the ride quality is provided by the shocks. Do your research and choose the best shock for the ride you want to achieve.

Get on Facebook and look up 229 Jeeps, ATV, 4X4 and South Georgia man toys And Tiftarea Jeep club There were a few XJs on there not long ago.
  3. It seems to be saying about the same. I'll swap the engine eventually.
  4. Isn't there a build tag on the door or under the hood?
  5. The relocation brackets are made for XJs, not MJs. You can modify the truck and bracket to work on a MJ. I have not done it or seen it done. Anything is possible with enough time and money.

  7. The "management" has nothing to do with posting pictures in threads. You need to upload your pics to Facebook, Photobucket, Flickr or any other picture hosting site you choose. You can follow the instructions in the link below for more guidance. http://comancheclub.com/topic/37727-how-to-post-pictures/
  8. If you get a late model aluminum valve cover you can strip and shine them to a chrome like finish. I have been doing it for years on ChryCo 2.2/2.5 valve covers. You can also shine up pretty much any other aluminum part on an engine. I have done alternator housings, intakes, water pumps, super chargers, heads, distributors and a ton of other small stuff. The key is to strip it, sand it smooth with rough sand paper, then work your way down to 1500-2500 grit and finally polish with a good compound. I like Mothers or Eagle One.
  9. I'll finish mine. Mine stalled because of a divorce. I will be back on it once I get a place to work on it. She is sleeping peacefully in a 10X20 storage locker.
  10. Yep, you better be good at wiring though. Check out my Black Betty thread for more info.
  11. Did water get into the air box? If it sat in the water for longer than a few minutes I would drian the diffs, t-case and transmission as well. Turn it over with all of the plugs removed and see if water comes out of the plug holes.
  12. 4.5" lift with 245/75/16 MTRs They are almost exactly the same size as a 31/10.50/15
  13. You serious? Yes I am sadly. I have another engine sitting in the bed of my Dodge waiting for this one to blow up. Somehow it is still going. I drive it 15-20 miles a day. The 4.0L is a stout little motor!
  14. The bigger question is what is your oil pressure at? Not on the factory guage but a real mechanical gauge? I have 18 psi on cold start and 1-2 psi at idle. My engine rattles like crazy!
  15. I'm out if it is iin Indiana. That is a minimum of a 15 hour one way drive. The name should be changed to the Midwest Pow Wow at this point. Maybe us southern dwellers can put on something a few hundred miles closer.
  16. It shows up fine using Comanche Club in the mobile setting. There is no need to use tapatalk with this forum. Just scroll to the bottom of the page on your internet browser and set it to mobile.
  17. Shoot me a PM with what you have and we'll talk
  18. I sold my 97 converted MJ for $2500. I bought it back for $1500.
  19. The production number is the last 6 digits of the VIN. I can't make out that tiny picture you posted of the fender tag to give you anymore insight.
  20. Over 225K on my no oil pressure and knocking 4.0, I drive it almost 15 miles a day.
  21. Porno red was the winner. Looks like the hunt is on for some parts. Thanks for all the votes.
  22. It is very close to the old Tellico. Crawford's Campground is not far from the trails either. Southern Jeeps did a ride up there not long ago and the reviews were very good.
  23. A couple hours to go! Speak now or forever hold your peace! OMP Blue is still a no go... Ben!
  24. What Dodge mirrors did you see put on a Ranger? I know my mirrors on my Cummins are huge! There is no way they will fit on a Ranger or an MJ. Even if you did waste the time to put them on they would look retarded. I have first gen Ranger/Bronco II towing mirrors on my 86 and I think they look perfect for the 80s theme I'm going for.
  25. You can ask until you are BLUE in the face but I will not put that ugly interior in my truck. Sorry fellas.
