  1. http://www.walcottcb.com/ or EBay are your best bet. Just research before you buy anything off EBay.
  2. Just last week we went to our local Bar and Eatery. They run a Tuesday special (EVERY TUESDAY), buy 12 wings, get 12 free. I ordered 2 dozen wings, hot, for my son and I. We enjoy our spicy goodness and ask for the check. I look at it before I hand ding bat my credit card and sure enough I was charged for 2 dozen wings. I looked at her, pointed to the extra charge, and asked if the wings were still buy 12, get 12. She Said, "They sure are". "Really? Then why did you charge me for the extra dozen? Either you owe me 24 more wings free, or I only pay for the first dozen." She then said to me, hold on tight fellas, "I did not know you wanted the special."
  3. It is Bronson's truck now. I hope he does put the Hemi in it. I would love to see it done. The 4.0L in the truck now has some piston slap at about 3000 RPM. It could be on it's way out. I dunno. It will probably last a long long time with the rattle. I honestly doubt Bronson has the time to under take dropping the Hemi in though. Fortech keeps him pretty busy. If any shop could pull it off they can. The owner is the man who designed the Brute conversion for AEV!
  4. I did not feel like typing it all again. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21670&p=223378&hilit=rro#p223378
  5. If you would take the time to look the post is back. I did not delete it. I simply moved it. I moved it to the spam trap so Pete could delete the offending posts out of it and clean it up. ALL I CAN DO IS MOVE THEM, OR DELETE THE WHOLE THREAD. Like I said in my post earlier. Are we good now?
  6. I can't edit posts with out deleting the offending post. I can move them to the spam trap until Pete can edit them properly. I wanted to stop the $#!& storm before it got out of hand.
  7. That is because the MJ that was used for JP magazine was (still is) Pete Trasborg's. He is a member both on here and NAXJA. I will let him speak up if he wants too. Sadly his red MJ burned pretty badly a couple years ago on the side of the highway. I think he is going to try and fix it last I heard.
  8. Check the mod pit Rob.
  9. From what I hear the 3D Blueray will be out soon and is going to make these ones obsolete. Dunno if any if that is true or not. I fix trucks not electronics...
  10. There is a base close by but it is a reserve base. The company used to be called Jack Frost Jeeps. They always have over priced stuff there. They buy Jeeps from the rust belt for cheap, bring them down to GA, and sell them for a profit. They are a really shady dealer. On another note, the guy who bought my truck is the one who installed the chrome bumpers (the rear is a YJ bumper), the BB, and the tires. He told me that truck is a total POS and is worth maybe $1500. BUYER BEWARE!!!
  11. It's a done deal. I dropped her off this morning to the new owner. Here she is behind the Cummins getting ready for the road trip. In all her sexy glory! The proud new owner, Bronson. Good bye Onyx... You will be missed!
  12. Thanks fellas. I load it on the trailer in the morning and hand over the keys and title. He gets to hand over $2500! That is plenty to get the next one off the ground. The reason I sold it to him so cheap is because I used his old XJ as my donor rig. He gave me a great deal on the XJ. Now that things have changed in his life I am returning the favor to my friend. Don, I am going to 29 Palms. There is a really good chance I will be buying back "Black Betty" when I get out there.
  13. Well, it is a sad day in the MJ world. I let Onyx go last night to a buddy of mine. He promised to keep me informed of any further progress on the truck. I know a lot of you are asking why (or how) I could get rid of a truck that I spent the better part of two years building. It was not an easy thing to do by any means. There were a couple reasons behind our decision. 1st, I am getting transfered to California in July. I had a 07 Dodge Ram 2500, 04 Jeep WJ, 87 Shelby Charger, the MJ, and a 06 Starcraft 13 RT camper, that is 4 vehicles and a camper. As you can see I needed to thin the herd. The 2500 is the tow rig, the WJ was my very first new car I ever bought and it is paid for, it took me six years to find the Shelby and it is my true first LUVV, and we need the camper for family time. Sadly the MJ was just one vehicle too many. 2nd, We looked at getting it shipped. Not cheap by any means. We are unsure of where we are going to live once we get to CA. Throw in the unknown price for rent and vehicle storage for the camper, Shelby, and the MJ and it gets pricey real quick. 3rd, the MJ was a short box. I personally do not like a short box truck. I never have and probably never will. I was to the point the truck was almost finished and I was losing interest in her and it was still a shorty. 4th, With this truck out of the way it gives us more room to buy a LWB truck and convert it into the 4 door Sportruck I have been wanting to build for years. I will not be going anywhere. I will always have an MJ around. Just the next one will be a little bit different from the norm. I want to thank everyone for the input, help, and heckling that you provided while the build of Onyx was taking place. It was a fun time, I learned a lot, and I will apply this to my next truck and build a bigger and better product. Bo
  14. Congrats Wade! Your truck is truly a thing of beauty. A well deserved MJOTM winner!
  15. Did you just bolt the XJ axle into the rear of the truck? Please say you welded the spring perches in the right location...
  16. I love my PUP. The older Starcraft's were very good units. Mine is a tad heavier at 4300# loaded. Enjoy your new to you again toy!
  17. Dunno, I know the steering wheel was locked and the keys were missing. It is a non point for that XJ anyhow. I never got a title for it and cut it into 100 pieces and took it in for scrap.
  18. Waggy is now an option for y'all! I know it rest it but I am curious to see how this goes. Please resubmit your votes. Oh, 97+ and old China Jeep.
  19. You are a D...! LOL
  20. ABS= Dana 35 I just picked up a 98 XJ sport 4x4 with a D35 and no ABS Not all XJs came with the 8.25 without ABS. With that said, ALL XJs that have ABS will have a Dana 35.
  21. Thank you everyone. I am honored to be a member of this great organization. There is not better a forum on the internet. I owe a lot of what this truck is to the members of this forum. Without you all she would have been junked by now. We are very proud of the truck and I look forward to finishing it and starting on my next build. Thank you!
  22. The real question is, What are the shops hours? 8am - 6pm?
  23. You can DA the ridge off the rear ones and get a close to stock look. You can also run 96 and older flares, bumper, and air dam on the front. If you search for Black Betty in the projects forum you can see how I started to mod some 97+ rear flares to work on the back. I never did finish them before I sold the truck. Your last option is, mold yourself a set of custom one off flares. I have a set that I need to finish for my truck that I got off a member here. :chillin:
  24. It is not as easy as just swapping the interior. If you want your gauges to read right you have to swap the engine harness and most of the under hood things. Then find a way to make the fuel gauge work. I used a TJ tank and cluster to make my fuel gauge read correctly. Cost wise: Whatever you have into the 99 XJ is what you will have into the swap. Time wise: I have been working on my truck for 18 months and just got it running a few weeks ago. I do not get to work on it as much as I like though.
