I use plugs / patches and slime at work ( I'm a schoolbus/everything mechanic) all the time .plugs when properly used work great on allmost anything from mowers to maintnence trucks. slime works good in mowers and such nothing more. and patches are all that get used in the buses period. my .02 cents

1 piece axle conversion for 86 d30?
86FUBAR replied to Scott86mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I put 98 tj shafts in my 86 manch and instead of doing the inner seal i just put tube seals on it and over filled the housing a bit and have yet to have any problems. -
compression readings and oil loss...
86FUBAR replied to dfreeman616's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Can you make a leak down tester?? I've looked for them and can't find them without its own compressor for like under 5 bills.... was thinking if you just had one of those small air tanks and a better gauge, hooked up to a hose from a compression tester screwed in to your plug hole you might be able to get a good leak down reading i agree with LEAD_N_F do the leak down , that should tell u more. u could make ur own but hear are some nice ones that are reasonable priced. u want the dual guage http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch ... lse&N=+115 -
a little update finaly got some time to do a little work on the manch today , i managed to cut off the the old rocker guards to make room for the new ones I'm building wire in the backup lights that are in the bumper and rewire the amp so it stops draining the battery and shortened the winch power cables . then topped all that off with some fresh paint on both bumpers. not much but it sure was nice to do something on it

86FUBAR replied to 89MJComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 u aint gona compromise the integrity of the bed. Get u some sheet metal , ziz wheel and a welder . then u cut out rust , bend sheet metal to fit/fill the hole then weld it in ,grind and smooth as necessary , primer -paint and ur done. -
 :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: THANK U

Repairs and more problems...
86FUBAR replied to joshmillslane's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yes a vacum leak could cause a high idle and that could have been "fixed" by adjusting the idle screw. best thing to do is go through all of the vacume lines and replace everything -
yes desert camo would be cool , iv been toying with the idea of doin it to mine but my manche is beigh to begin with and as far the black white and grey thing goes that is ugly IMHO. :needpics: i always wanted to do that :D

Exhaust's For Jeep Comanche's
86FUBAR replied to Hemenechi's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, that is correct. I did not explain completely on that one, but that's what I did. ;) The shop did not take it off, but because it was not there to start with, they were not required to put one on. When i lived in NC i wanted to take the 2 chamber flows i had on my 75 ramcharger (true duals with a crossover) off and put some 1 chambers on but the retard at the N A P A said he couldnt do the work because it didnt have any cats on it , even though it didnt come factory with cats, then the p-hole tried to sell me a set of cats for 400 bucks :headpop: -
pm sent pete
