  1. i'm a tech and wiring/electrical is my speciality. what's up?
  2. yes, auto correct can be a pain. another 4x4 board i'm on use to change "MJ" to a "repost" grill. that was due to some junk about another website.
  3. i had more typed out but it got deleted so here's the short version. manual underwriting. that means no credit/fico score approval. most banks don't do this anymore, but some mortgage companies do and have reasonable rates/plans. the one that comes to mind is http://www.churchillmortgage.com/. it's actually possible to not have debt, my goal is to have no credit score within 10-15 years, and i don't make that much money. the debt we have now is student loans that in hindsight i would have tried to pay without the loans, and our mortgage. anyways, good luck on getting a mortgage. it sounds like you shouldn't have a problem qualifying with churchill's manual underwriting policies.
  4. makes me think of the guy who passed away, and you guys went through it...with all the AMC/Jeep stuff...
  5. the vehicle report on ebay says there was a front impact accident in '94.
  6. hmm i'm one of the closest members, it's about 3 hours from me...but i'm too short on cash.
  7. Video inspection scope for :wrench: -ing These things are great for when you can't see something on a car/truck, or inspecting down spark plug holes. Why rip apart a motor for inspection when you can fish this thing in and see that the valves punched a hole in the piston when the timing chain broke on a customer's ecotec? Or that the block is cracked on the back of a northstar, pouring out coolant? or...?
  8. Master auto tech/assistant manager at http://www.qualityexpresscarcarecenter.com/. The manager is actually opening another shop under the same name next month or February, so then i'll be heading up this shop. Anyone local feel free to swing by when you need some help. We do pretty much everything.
  9. i have a pic from my old 88 mj rolling 100k somewhere, and last week i hit 220k in my 99 xj, but the pics still on my phone
  10. a couple days ago. but that was a customer's truck...nice clean tj with 76k miles on it.
  11. the other thing to keep in mind is with the radiator cap on the 94 rad, you'll also have an overflow hose to deal with.
  12. :agree:
  13. that mudspace link requires a log in
  14. yup i've done this several times. the other thing to consider and reason to disconnect the battery is so you don't fry any electronics, like the pcm...
  15. Don't annoy her with facts! She is right! She drives the illusion of a green vehicle! ;) But seriously, I recall reading an article that showed the life cycle carbon footprint (from manufacture through disposal) of a Prius is actually worse than just about any Subaru. yea that, and this: would not surprise me
  16. i don't mind heater cores, one helped me nail down my current job :D i came in before i was hired and worked, there was a 2000-ish taurus with a heater core that needed to be replaced. it books out for 6 hours due to removing the dash, and the manager (another master tech) had done a few and knew about how long they take. when i started i asked if he had ordered the part yet, and he said he would get it for me before i needed it. an hour later i handed him the old one and he just stared at me like this  and called me a freak of nature...and then ordered my part. more on topic, i haven't done an xj/mj heater core yet, aside from pulling them from trucks i'm parting out.
  17. my first thought was egr stuck or possibly some carbon partially keeping the valve open, but vacuum leak, coolant temp sensor that goes to the computer, or ecu itself are all other good possibilities.
  18. check fuses/fuse box, related connectors, headlight switch, and also high/low beam switch in the steering column/wiper switch. no high beams or low beams? if you don't have either, then you might have a bad headlight switch, too.
  19. also finishing off this multi-pack all pretty good, i enjoyed the angler's ale and whitsun ale best.
  20. sounds like either damaged axleshaft or damage leaf/shackle...but i'm sure you'll figure it out and get it fixed up :wrench:
  21. nothing to do with engineering, but funny still...
