  1. Jim, what MJ do you have up for grabs and how much?
  2. i thought 475 psi was the goal for the low side  but yes, GM tends to find the worse place, then put something else in front of it...like having the low side port angle up on the firewall so you have to pry the line down to get the fitting on it. but then there's the PT cruiser, which you have to take apart the upper radiator support to reach the high side port...or a VW new beetle which you have to take out the airbox to get to the brake fluid...if i had $0.10 for every poorly designed item on a car i found, i wouldn't have to work on them for a living anymore. all that to say, i like working on my jeep compared to many of the things i touch at work everyday.
  3. if there's any new parts you need, i could get them cheap through the shop account. if someone doesn't mind swing up to grand rapids first, unless i end up being able to make it.
  4. once again, you make me ask why i don't live out west...looks great
  5. count me as a maybe still, although with my wife being due with our second kid in 10 days that could easily change.
  6. if you can come up with a good extended cab truck, i might be interested in that too...a 2 year old plus another one coming in a couple weeks doesn't work well with a comanche :(
  7. hmm are you coming out to pete's in a couple weeks? i shouldn't, but i can't resist at least seeing what you have in mind...
  8. swap my broke driver's b-pillar light for one of my spares that still clips in place :D
  9. try replacing a 4.7L in a WJ...i'm about done with one at work, books out at 18.4 hours for the long block jasper i'm dropping in it, and that's with full lift and shop tools to do it.
  10. glad she's ok, xj's are dime a dozen and easy to get. now another exp, those are harder to find than an MJ, although my dad has an 83 that's been sitting around his place unused since...1994? 1993?
  11. get a raised receiver tongue for my hitch, now my tow dolly doesn't scrape every pump even when it's empty. also yanked an '01 silhouette to my shop with the MJ, gonna fix it and sell it off.
  12. amen to all of that! especially with 2 kids...doesn't work too well
  13. Thanks :D And to everyone else who has kids on here... and , but not at the same time :dunce: and just cus my son wants it, :jump:
  14. i would think all the extra wind mass would hurt fuel economy more than the weight, but then, campers aren't ever known for fuel economy...
  15. when you put it that way, i'm glad they didn't destroy the comanche name! but i still wouldn't drive something like that thing in the first post...
  16. how's your fuse box under the dash? i bet it's soaked with clutch fluid from the master cylinder, and that may take care of some of those things, if the box isn't junk.
  17. tonto, i think i can help you stop the madness. simply tell me when and where, and i will make all arrangements to pick up any/all comanches and/or comanhce parts. call it an "intervention" if you like :D
  18. x3 on neutral safety switch...check and see if it starts in neutral. if it does, it's a dead give away.
  19. :wrench: rebuild the left leaf spring with some spare leaves i had sitting around while it was still on the truck. install kenwood cd player with aux in jack on front to replace the sony cassette player that was in it.
  20. yes it will bolt up.
  21. replaced the steering wheel with a grant one i had lying around, fixed the driver side door lock linkage so i can use the lock from inside without the key, re-wired the left door speaker (i have 97+doors) so i have audio again, reinstall some trim on the dash so it looks less hack, tighten shift knob, replace rear view mirror due to haziness, and get new u-bolts/centering pins for the b@stard pack i'm building to get me by for awhile longer. all with the help of my assistant, seen here check out his aunt's car.
  22. sure, if installed correctly with sealer and everything. but i'd still prefer the other kind.
  23. welcome! best bet, as the tech sections says, is get a cheap cherokee parts truck that has the drivetrain you want and swap what you need, then sell/part out what you don't need..
  24. 87-90 is the same 91-98 is the same 99-2001 is different, but will bolt on directly to a 91-98 head. you just may have to swap various brackets/sensors. these heads have better flow than the older HO's to offset stricter emissions requirements for those model years.
