I have the auto pals with 80/90 or 80/100 H4's. I never get flashed when on low beams. Puts out significant light. However, I do find it a little short on dispersing light to the drivers side of the road. I have heard the hella lens will direct a better coverage of light on the road sides. :(

I have one zerk like that on the front end of the rear DS. You can't get a coupler to slip on the zerk do to lack of spacing. Turn the shaft anyway you want to and it's a no go. All most like it's a smaller u-j but it isn't. I have been searching for a smaller dia. coupler to use but haven't found one yet. Also on the cardan joint I had to drill a bigger hole through the tranny support to get to the flush (inverted) zerk on that with a neddle adapter. You can get to the front half of the joint but not the rear half. A mfg goof I believe.

H4 Headlight conv wiring questions
deziped replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
drahcir-495-- - - The reason was to eliminate a couple of splices which cause voltage loss and tentative trouble spots. Less splices means more power at lights and less soldering. I also used relays for each circuit with dual hot 87 pins so I could run wire directly to the light pins from the relays with no need to splice wires to get power from one light to the other. There are no splices in this system. And no power goes through the headlight switch to the lights, it only trips the relays now. -
H4 Headlight conv wiring questions

I have a schematic I penciled up on using 2 relays to power up 80/100 watt H4's. It leaves in place (hanging around) the original wiring in case you want to revert to it. I can email it to anyone who thinks they can down size it to put it in the DIY or where-ever. I can't do it. no smarts. But anyhow it worked great for me and put power directly from the alternator to the lights with no splicing necessary anywhere along the way. Easy to do and not expensive. -
Replaced the CCV vacuum line. It was working (clear last week) when I dumped a little Seafoam in the crankcase. All the crap that dislodged the vacuum apparently sucked into the line. It was plugged hard as a rock for about 2 inches a 1/4 of the way down the line. Of course the old line was brittle and snapped in half when I ran a wire down it to clear the blockage out. Such is life. :shake:

My 88 build sheet was in drivers door, the 89 was stuck between the springs and foam pad on drivers side of bench seat.

If you have wobbling, shaking, rattling, it's time to put the front up on jack stands and start checking every joint, tie rod, ball joint, steering column, track bar, steering box bolts, and anything else that moves and connects one moving part to another.

Blew the high pressure power steering hose today. Removed it and was about to install an old one I had laying around but noticed the one I had taken off had chewed up little o rings on each end. Are they really necessary? :hmm: They can slip over & behind the slightly flared ends. If so I suppose I'll have to find a couple tomorrow.

Funny. I was reading this and called my wife in to read it. She said "Oh my God , there's two of you". I do basically everything you just mentioned. Just Wed the neighbor kid came in my garage & wanted to know if I could fix his bike tire because his dad didn't have time he was drinking beer & watching TV. So I did it. It never ends. And yes I get a little pissed for the very reasons you do when people take and take & never even consider helping others or doing something in return, or don't give a s--- if they destroy property they borrow and never have any intention of reimbursing you for it.

Sorry to hear of your illness, but certainly glad your a survivor and doing well. A little advice, listen to that dietician and your doctor for extended longevity. Coronary artery disease can be slowed to a crawl with the proper effort. I had a stent in 92 & I'm still hanging around. Other friends who had stents around the same time and made NO effort to change their live style (eating, exercise, etc.) are long gone. Hope your recovery is speedy, and don't rush it.

The dealership has been the only owner of this vehicle (it was leased for the first 19000 or so miles to someone/company and then sold to the current owner who is trying to capitilize on some one's notarity to make an outrageous profit on an inferior piece of auto craftmanship. Believe it or not there are fools born every minute. Read the car report, it may be authentic.

I went 24 x 24 and as stated thats the bare min. you want to go. You can at least open the doors on two vehicles parked in the garage without having to bang the sides of one or the other up (IF YOUR CAREFUL).It leaves a little bit of room for a work bench etc. My wife's a pack rat, gotta store every damn seasonal item she buys and it's getting a little cluttered.. I'm now thinking of adding on 10 X 24 just to store her crap into a divided section all by itself and get her outa my garage.

Did you read all the readers comments to the article you cited in your initial post? Gives a pretty good explanation of why the map originated & what your neighbors and others think about it. Better be alert for that fox with the frying pan & ham that was spotted in your neighborhood.

Just remove the two nuts holding the column up & let it drop. It makes removal a lot simpler. Why risk breaking stuff.

AW-4 Shifter and Lock-up Torque Converter Tech
deziped replied to TNT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Your gonna like it. I did a similiar setup on mine a couple years back and haven't regretted it. I like the fact that off-road it makes 2nd gear, which is normally useless when it shows up, useable/manageable in all RPM ranges with the flick of a switch. Running up long mountain passes I can hold it in 2nd & avoid constant power losing up & down shifting. Same for running down long descents for assisted braking. The switch on the TC makes it act like a manual in a sense or you've added gears. It's a worth-while easy & cheap modification. :D -
So did you finish working on the guys jeep after he sold this now pink one he was gonna give you a good deal on??????????? :(
