  1. Deal.
  2. . Nothing... short... of... brilliant! . I read in your post there you had thoughts of making... more than one? ;) Thank you. I'll probably make up a bunch at some point. I've only ran through a full tank of fuel through it and I want to prototype it for a while before anything else.
  3. Nice going Jim! Good to see there'll be a good inventory to choose from next time I swing through. :peek:
  4. http://comancheclub.com/topic/30542-neohics-next-91-pioneer-/page-4 Scroll down to post #80. I've done similar setups in the past making up custom tanks that sit in the box, but I've always just measured to have the sending unit sit off the bottom of the tank at the same height that it would've in its original tank. My new adapter would make it possible to have any height/size tank, use either MJ or XJ sending units as a donor, or use an external pump and still use the factory gauge sender.

    Speedo Sensors

    PM sent.
  8. Word's sure getting out now! Few more I've done over the years: Done a bunch more... sometimes plate, sometimes tube... I've got some really nice jigs made up that I don't even need a truck to build off of anymore. I pretty much always just use my standard mounts to the frame and just go from there:

    Speedo Sensors

So... been having some issues with the speedometer in my '91. I think I've traced it back to the speed sensor in the back of the trans but from reading around in the inter-web land my sensor might be bad... might be good yet. Having a tough time bringing myself to purchase a sensor just to try at the cost of $60+. Anybody have one of these sitting around in a spare AW4 that they could part with? '87-'97 should work. Thanks, dudes!
  10. ... or you've got easy makings for a canvas topper!
  11. I think I'm going to rattle the dice on a new sensor. :crossfingers: Anybody else have any ideas?
  12. I jacked up the rear of mine and put the trans in neutral. Took two hands to keep everything lined up with my meter so I just kicked the driveshaft around to get things to turn.
  13. Two. Come to think of it, I didn't swap over the harness from the sensor on the trans to the firewall as it plugged right in. I did move over the harness from the sensor on the t-case to the firewall because it was missing when I got the donor. Any difference in there maybe? Originally, the truck was a 4cyl/4spd that Austin started swapping over to a 6cyl/auto with a '93 XJ. Every piece of wiring was moved over from the '91 to this truck except for the harness from the trans sensor to the firewall. :dunno:
  14. All electronics were swapped over from a '91 including the TCU. Unfortunately, electrical is about the only thing I don't have an ample inventory of. If the sensor on the trans is the same from '87-'97, I'd just swap it out with another to see if it changes anything... that I don't have sitting around.
  15. :hmm: Not sure what you're getting at here. I was referring to the rear driveshaft. Speedo hasn't worked since the rear shaft went in... probably just a coincidence though. I tested the sensor in the trans this morning.
  16. I checked continuity from the sensors to the firewall. Screws in the cluster were all tight. I even took everything apart in there to clean the board. The thing about it is it worked June when I was swapping everything over: Truck hasn't been on the road more than 50 miles since then. It worked without the driveshaft in... haven't pulled it back out to recreate the day of the video. Worth it?
  17. Crawled under the truck today and I'm really glad that I didn't go with the factory t-case shifter crap. This allowed me to get rid of the bracket that holds part of the factory stuff and get a better look at things. There it is! Unplugged it again to check for an ohm reading. I was really hoping that it wouldn't, but I got a reading. Don, I know you said that yours checked out but it turned out to be the problem... think I might be in the same boat?
  18. I know... I know... Haven't had much for time to crawl under the truck and take another look. Been cruising around and just keeping up with traffic.
  19. Welcome and very cool truck! Blue is definitely my favorite color in the Chief trim.
  20. Agreed! Looking very good!
  21. Last I talked with Dean (seller), he had a couple of his collector buddies go over the truck with a fine toothed comb. They came up with the number to the tune of $15k. Granted, Dean knows that the sun, the stars, and the moon all need to be in alignment to fetch this so he does have a bottom dollar in mind. Between Dean and myself, there's always that special price if he knows that the truck is going to a home that he knows it will be appreciated and well taken care of too. He gave me a price, but that's between him and a potential buyer to disclose that.
