  1. Ooou, thats nice. And actually i can't see the body work, it looks really good. I would lose the topper though, but thats just me. Gota say i dig that rear bumper. Before you make an offer see if its got the D44, if it does i would go for it and offer him 2k, it looks like it would make a really nice truck. If it doesnt have the D44, and hes not willing to dramatically lower his price, 1700 maybe? Then i would probably pass, what hes asking is just to much. I paid a 1k for mine, 90 eliminator, good 4x4, good 5spd, good interior, some rust, bed liner, good motor, with a 145,000 miles, a/c needed charge, windows didnt work,
  2. Never seen this face before. Oh and by the way, I have been through about 4 hurricanes, lived in FL for about 12 years. Not a single one had as much hype as this so called "frankenstorm" :rotfl2: and one of those hurricanes was catagory 4! From what i have heard sandy isnt hardly a catagory 1.
  3. Highly technical term i see. :laughin:
  4. It is, with enough time, oxy acetylene, and spot weld cutters its possible. But its just not practical, if the rockers and cab corners are what you need you are better off hacking them off and using them to replace yours. The cab of a comanche uses a type of cab design called unibody in other words the cab is literally part of the frame, and vice-a-versa. Making it non removeable. . . technically. It make for an extremely rigid and strong vehicle body, but it does have its drawbacks.
  5. I know the one with the fabric wrap is a clutch hydralic line with the fitting cut off, the other i am about 95% sure goes to the vacuum ball under the front bumper Edit: I think I'm wrong about the vacuum ball, sounds like RDAN1 is on the right track.
  6. I had the same idea, why couldnt some kind of simple electrical switch be rigged up to turn on the 4X4 light when you pull the lever?
  7. Just curious, has this lift kit setup been finalized? All the details been ironed out?
  8. Is the throttle body mounted using 4 hex head bolts or 3 large torxs bolts? some pictures would help as well.
  9. 2800? ya that does sound pretty pricey, I am curious as to what all the "extra" parts are. If you havent even gone to look/drive it go do that first, post some pictures and then we'll see. Usually a lot of bondo means either A. its dented, accident? or B. Underlying rust your list of bad arent really bad things, bad things would be severe rust, runs rough, shot transmission, shredded interior, stuff like that
  10. I don't think por 15 would cover them up. Rust is a cancer, if any remains it will continue to destroy the metal, but if you don't want to cut and patch them go to your parts store and ask specifically for seam sealer, it comes in chaulking tubes, super thick, black paste. This stuff is AWESOME for sealing up spots just like this and weld seams that arent the greatest or anything for that matter. When i first saw your pictures, i thought you had stolen the pictures from my floor repair, at least for the driver side. I had just about the exact same amount to cut out and replace. My passenger side only had a little strip i had to cut and replace, i was lucky. The most difficult part of the floor repair was finding where to put the seat studs. I took about 2 days to make sure i got it perfect, I didnt want to do anything willy nilly and end up leaning to the side, forward or any other direction for that matter. Also, one thing that alot of people like to do, including myself, is that while you have your frame channel uncovered do an extra good job of cleaning and por15 coating the inside. It will be the only time you will have access to it.
  11. floor pans shouldnt be to hard to get a hold of, but rockers you can pretty much forget about. I searched for months and the ones i found i was told would require serious modification. At 50 bucks a pop, not including shipping i decided to repair my old ones.
  12. I am not exactly sure what you guys are getting at? The fact that Jeep might consider moving its production over seas is disappointing, but at the same time you have to consider why they would do it. I believe American made products are some of the best money can buy, however in a world economy with multi national companies quantity, beats quality. The chinese are willing to work 80hrs a week for near pennies a freaking day. I am not saying we should as well, just that it only makes buisness sense, it sucks i know it, but money talks, Loud. On a separate note, if i have understood what has been said, it seems you guys arent raving fans of the Obama administration? If that is the case what do you think Romney will be able to do if he is elected? God forbid. I am ONLY talking about foreign policy, China, and American companies flocking to cheap labor overseas.
  13. shifter is custom :dunno: . but i can tell you it is full time, 2hi >> 4hi >> N >> 4lo
  14. Nothing on the truck as far i know is original/factory, so your guess is as good as mine. Unfortunately its in FL with my brother, about 750 miles away from me so i can't just step outside and take a peek, but i might be able to convice him to do it for me. I will see what he says, cause i personally have no clue what it has. If i had to guess it would probably be something pretty unremarkable, afterall a SBC and a T400 aint all that original. Mountain Dude, no i can't say i've been on that particular site, but i do go on JeepForum's fullsize section quite often. there is a guy on there right now doing a full restoration on a 79, i think, its identical to mine, only hunter green and with about 25K worth put into in. You have to see it to believe it, http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f57/64-gladiator-tribute-build-1267426/
  15. What do you mean? Are you talking about the bores? or actually inside them? If you are talking about the later, just run somekind of intake/injector cleaner fuel-additive-in-a-bottle. My personal favorite is Lucas, but there are a bunch out there.
  16. Holy Moses look at that belt pattern, no wait, theres two serpentine belts :ack:
  17. For that price i sure as hell would give it a shot, looks awesome! How hard could it be? :wrench:
  18. It looks like your MJ is in your living room, I see a painting on the wall and what looks to be blue carpet on the floor. :laughin:
  19. Either maybe the wire loom from the TPS to the TCU has a bad spot or maybe something inside the transmission itself. If you have a friend that also has an auto try taking your TCU and putting it in his, just to rule out a faulty TCU. Also could be the wire loom from the TCU to the transmission.
  20. Neither actually, its just straight down for 4hi, then over to the left and down again for 4lo, BTW don't know if it makes a difference but the 4x4 shifter is on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel. :dunno: reclocked maybe? single shifter too.
  21. I sure would like to get those doors, from what i can see they look to be in near perfect condition mine are rusted and dented all to hell. But i'm afraid they would'nt fit in one of those flat rate UPS boxes. Absolutely love the bumper by the way, couldnt be factory could it?
