  1. That is an AC delete alt mount. That aluminum piece is where an AC compressor would otherwise mount. That will be a hard piece to find, I've only seen one and maybe I should have grabbed it. You also have that idler pulley to contend with, IDK if that is a separate piece or attached. And FWIW that does not look like the correct upper rad hose.
  2. Tell the seller you will have it towed and you will accept full responsibility and that you know what you are doing and you will go through the entire XJ for repairs.....convince him to sell it to you. $500 to $800 like yesterday. I have always said.......Time causes more wear than miles. Low miles does not impress me at all. And you are correct, every seal, bushing, line, hose, water pump, radiator, tires, shocks, fuel pump, fuel tank, entire brake system.........etc.... 30-40 year old 0 mile cars do exist........now that impresses me, other wise...........
  3. Assuming it did fit............. Hop on down to the machine shop and have the HB neutrally balanced.
  4. OP, just be aware that the 2.5 came with two water pumps, the most common for the serpentine was CCW, yours will be the least common so make certain you get the right one.
  5. It wouldn't, why would you expect it to? XJ/MJ never used the GM 4cyl. XJ/MJ did use the GM V6 which the Dorman pulley I linked to does cross to. Since the V6 and early 2.5 used GM alts and PS pumps.........I suspect they used the same balancers. 90% chance that balancer will fit.
  6. Clean, clean, clean again. Then use this- I would not, did not, rattle-can, better results using automotive paints.

  8. Like anything else..........if it were done right it would look good.
  9. Three ways to upload to youtube- Data, upload directly to youtube via data.........just tap share. USB, transfer file to laptop via USB cable, use software to edit, upload from laptop via RR to youtube. RR, connect phone to wifi, upload directly from phone via RR and wifi. Once uploaded to youtube, youtube does have a limited editing program.
  10. Let's assume a given injector has a specified flow rate @ 41psi, your fuel pressure is (for whatever reason) @ 36psi. Fuel is not atomized appropriately, excess fuel cannot be burned, O2 senses rich condition. Just how much can the ECU adjust or compensate? IOWs you are operating outside a given set of parameters?
  11. I would think the range in which it is able to compensate would be very limited.
  12. Meaningless without known fuel pressure. Pressure effects actual fuel delivery at the injector.
  13. There are those who build and there are those who patch. You decide. Personally, I can't wait to build another.
  14. You'll do that once and you'll never do it again. I have and 4 months later it came out again. Their warranty is YOUR sweat and bloody knuckle. These are not low mile late model engines.
  15. To the OP. There is no knock sensor on the 2.5..........OBD1 or not. There is no such thing as an OBD1 "crate" 2.5 And I have no idea why he is chasing a carb scenario............... And for that matter, if he was to go carbed he'd be better off using a MPI intake........2 bbl adapter would work out great, he'd have to make one of course. He did not mention but what? OBD1 ignition? .......TPS adapter to carb?...........IDK? Aftermarket ignition? '84 points distributor? what?
  16. Fuel pump, not distributor. He can bypass it.
  17. This was my question to you. Which is it reading?
  18. Got it. How are you going to get this engine out?
  19. What I'm wondering is if your temp sender is bad..........ECU sees cold temp, runs rich. (not the gauge sender......the other one)
  20. I've going to disagree with the loss of back-pressure equals loss of bottom-end idea. This is essentially an open exhaust...........no losses.........AFE header.
  21. What you are monitoring is what the ECU sees? You know that for a fact?
  22. Hope you are good at troubleshooting electrical.............you'll get plenty of practice. Nice clean truck.
