  1. He has lots of videos on youtube. Search for the REM videos. You posted a link. It's your responsibility to post the link to the video you want us to watch. Sorry, my bad. He has a lot of videos that track the development of the unit. Some of them are pretty "geeky." If anyone is interested, they can search his youtube channel and watch them.
  2. this video demonstrates the monitors.
  3. That is one of many he has on the monitor.

  5. For all of us MJ owners with Renix engines (Don "Hornbrod", you can close this thread now. ), a guy in NJ has designed and built a scan tool that can monitor your system in real time. He has a Youtube channel and a facebook page. Search for "Nickintime" on either site. He has lots of videos of the design and testing of the units. The unit plugs in to the scan port in the engine bay. He give you a 10' cable to run in to the cab to connect to the scan tool. I purchased one and just rec'd it this week. I plugged it in and was playing with it today. (It is too frickin' cold out to try and route the cable.) Looks pretty nice. It can display four system reading on screen at one time. You can select which reading to display. While playing with it, I see that my LT Fuel Trim is up 25%, 159 over 128. I guess I will be performing some diagnosis. 7. You can undo the wiring harness. Test the lighting without the trailer harness. Make sure the grounds are good. Make sure you have the proper lights in the sockets. The brake lights are dual filament lights (1057?). If you use/need the wiring, there is a write up in the DIY section on the proper way to do it.
  8. I just did a "google" search for the part #53010511aa. A diagram shows it sandwich between the bearing cap and the oil pan gasket. So, it is a secondary gasket. http://www.quirkparts.com/oe-mopar/53010511aa
  9. do you have a trailer wiring harness? often, these are improperly wired and can cause symptoms similar to yours.
  10. Minuit, You confirmed what I thought. Top to bottom: 1) bearing cap, 2) rubber gasket, 3) oil pan, 4) metal strap. Then the bolts go through the strap, oil pan, rubber gasket into the block.
  11. I'm guessing, but it looks like it goes between the bearing cap and the oil pan. Then the strap goes outside of the pan. But again, I'm just guessing.
  12. There is a link in the DIY section that takes you to pdf of the Renix fuel injector system. http://comancheclub.com/topic/36875-get-your-copy-of-the-renix-fi-fuel-injection-manual-here/ If you follow the links (p. 53 of the manual, p. 57 of the pdf), you can see the power latch relay maintains power after the engine shuts off to allow sensors to reset themselves for the next re-start.
  13. You are correct: 89 flywheel and 99 clutch kit. Additionally, you will need a hydraulic kit (master/slave cylinders). Rockauto - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1136086&cc=1180213&jsn=1 Don't get the later kit. The master cyl will interfere with the brake booster and the bolts are wider then the original bolt holes. I got a pilot bushing for a 75 CJ5, 304 V8. 14. When I did my swap, I attached the trans and tcase before the install. There a six nuts that hold the two together. Two up top are a witch to fasten when the trans is in first. As for the tcase, the one you got may have a Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE). Then yes, you will need to modify your drive shaft.
  15. In a word: No. You will need the bellhousing, the internal shift/release bearing fork, and the front bearing retainer cover. The bearing retainer cover for the internal is a short sleeve. The external cover has a long sleeve (to account for the release fork movement.)
  16. I wish! But sadly no. Maybe at some point I'll have the funds and time to search for one but for now I need a solution for a third brake light/cargo light that mounts directly to the truck. I'm not as concerned with the third brake light but if a cop around here sees a light up there he will assume it's a brake light and I will be pulled over when it doesn't come on. I'd rather avoid that headache all together and do a third brake light too. Around here they don't mess around with brake lights being out. If the cop tries to give you ticket, tell him that he can go pound sand. The MJ NEVER came with the third brake light from the factory. No state can force you to install a feature that did not come from the factory. Our trucks (and any older vehicle) are grandfathered for not having a third brake light.
  17. The 90 was Renix; the 91 was HO. They use different fuel systems/electronics. The flywheels are different. The Jeep's CPS count the teeth on the flywheel to tell the computer where the crank is and which injector to fire. I don't know how the TDI's electronics work with the flywheel. It seems to me you would want electronic to that engine. As for spline counts, that is at the other end of the trans, where it bolts to the tcase. In 90 and 91, each yr. came with the AX15 with 23 splines-out. That should not be an issue for the TDI.

  19. Saw this on FakeBook: http://www.ikamper.com/ There are three different styles May not work for the MJ, but if you have an XJ....
  20. Looking to purchase 746 fuel injectors. Looking on fleebay but I am running in to some confusion. I search for Volvo 746 fuel injectors and find a lot of listings. However, when I look at the product descriptions, different Bosch part numbers are listed: 720, 721, etc. Also, some say EV1 others say EV6. Still others list different pounds: 19# and 30#. What should I be searching for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/UPGRADE-JEEP-4-0L-BOSCH-TYPE-III-FUEL-INJECTORS-SET-6-19LB-EV1-/152347048105?hash=item23789778a9:g:0BYAAOSwQupXV5q7 http://www.ebay.com/itm/391635902393?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/VOLVO-850-960-S90-V90-Fuel-Injector-9454555-Bosch-0280155746-0280155702/171351796921?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3D510440daad9a4610837d586ff8aa2f72%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D391635902393 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Single-Unit-Bosch-Fuel-Injector-EV6-Volvo-Part-0280155746-1275194/252078956862?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3Db36ca6e96ebd424cb5b0a2a226eaf68b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D171351796921 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosch-Flow-Matched-Fuel-Injector-Set-for-Volvo-2-3-2-4-2-9-0280155746-6/200902253274?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3D6d50b95899bb43c0b51e38bbd834d0a2%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252078956862 http://www.ebay.com/itm/UPGRADE-JEEP-4-0L-BOSCH-TYPE-III-FUEL-INJECTORS-SET-6-19LB-EV1-4-hole-0280155746/232186346006?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3Dde2c5f356a174a219d464c2cdfcae52e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D301373999619
  21. Master, here is a link to the 88 electric FSM. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ However, I have an 87 also. The radio wiring for my 87 is diff from the 88 diagrams. The 87 has two plug harnesses from the radio. One for the speakers and another for the electrics. The 88 diagram has a single plug harness. Also, the wire colors are diff for some of the wires. It is a start. I did purchase an original 87 electric manual. So I have the actual wiring diagrams for an 87. FYI
  22. I didn't know Jeep made a "Woody" XJ. Would that be a Class C camper?
  23. PM sent
  24. I believe the 2wd 4wd has more lift than the 4wd 2wd. Wiser men then I will know for sure. Editted.
