I just put one on.

Where can I find these add-ons? I knew that Chrysler did buy AMC until late '88. My F-I-L had an '89 MJ. Most of his components were stamped Chrysler, but there was at least one AMC component on it.

I haven't seen it. But is looks interesting. From the description and the picture, $1300 is too high.

I was looking on Ebay for a Jeep Factory Service Manuals (FSM). I found one from a company in OH. The cover of the FSM was "1984 - 1987 Comanche". The years had me wondering because the MJ came out in '86. I figured since the XJ went through a change in '84 and that was what the MJ was built off of, I thought there would be overlap. So, I ordered the FSM for $89. I received the FSM on a Friday. I started to look through it that evening. The first thing I noticed was that the 4.0 engine was not listed in the table of contents. I looked through the sections on the engines. It detailed the 2.5, 2.8 and diesels. I also looked through the sections on manual transmissions. It covered the AX4 and AX5 but not the BA10. As I continued my scanning of the FSM, I noticed that the table of contents did not match the sections. The section on engines, section B, was listed in the ToC as going up to page B-278. However, the last page in the section was B-240. Then began section C. Also, where topics were supposed to begin actually started on different pages. The pages looked like they were photocopied from another source. Text that was close to the page margins were cut off. Some pages were slightly tilted. I decided that I was going to return the FSM since it didn't cover my MJ and the other discrepencies in the text. I needed to get authorization before returning it. I called on Monday to say I wanted to return it. The man on the line asked my why. I told him that it did not cover my engine and transmission. He asked me: "Are you sure you have an '87?" :???: :???: Now, my (future)wife bought the MJ new just out of college. We have the original invoice and window sticker. They both say its an '87, Have I been lied to for 25 yrs? What else is my wife lying about??? I politely told him that it is an '87. He said: "Well that was when Chrysler was taking over, so Jeep was just putting in whatever was available." :dunno: :dunno: EXCUSE ME? Judging from the manual they sent, I don't think it was Jeep that picked up whatever was lying around. Let's see how long it takes for my refund.

Not counting mine, I know of three in Frederick County MD. There a couple CC members in MD, also. One is about 30 miles west in Hagerstown.

My carpet is keeping me from being Fred Flintstone. driver's side - yes, that is my driveway! passengers side - small holes in floor. I am getting MUCH NEEDED work done. Here is my questions: Rockauto.com lists floor pan in front and rear pieces that are listed for Comanche. http://www.rockauto....ramecatalog.php Z&M lists the floor pan for cherokees as one piece. http://stores.zmjeep...l.bok?no=146659 Will Cherokee floor pans fit in the Comanche? I have read on other threads that XJ and MJ floors are different. Do I need the the two piece or the one piece?

That's what I heard. Too late, thou.

If I am reading your issues correctly, the temp only rises when the truck is not moving. When you are driving it, the temp is normal. I had a similar problem and it was the water pump. As the truck was moving the coolant moved thru the engine because of the cooling air flow. No air flow = no coolant flow = over heat.

there was thread about how to post pitures, but I cannot find it right now. from memory, sign up for an account with an online site to post your pictures. I use Comanche Club Image Hosting Have CC.com open and the other site open in your browser. As you write your messages, jump to the site with your pictures. Copy the link with the tags IMG. Jump back to CC and paste the link. Hope that helps.

In CA, you need a Dr.'s prescription. However, in CO, it is now OTC.

Please forgive me if I repeat steps you have performed, but... Did you check the smaller fuses in the block: Turn/BU 20 amp, and the Haz/Stop 15 amp? Your picture shows a 20 amp in the Haz/Stop. If your highbeams stay on, then I will go back and check the turn signal switch in the steering column. It may be defective. All of the issues you mentioned run through that switch. I have found this electrical trouble shooting manual very helpful. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/

Need Emissions Mechanic In Denver, Co

What issues caused the failure? -
I lost my brake lights previously. My hazard and turn signals worked, however. I replaced the turn/hazard switch harness and all was well. It runs down the steering column.

Do you have 3" lifts in stock currently? I was planning on giving the MJ a lift next year. -

So, it sounds like it is just seasonal, not permanent. -

Have they stopped all the MJ suspensions or just the 4.5"? I was concidering 3" lifts. -
What's behind door #1. The headlight switch is the relay. The clock has two power feeds. When you turn on the lights, the over ride source kicks in. This override dimmed the illumination light on the clock and radio. Since the clock goes dark when you turn on the lights, I would replace that switch.

Yes. Are you skinny? You'll need to be to get under there. Been there; done that; have the greasy t-shirt. The second time I raised the truck, let the front wheels hang down. Much easier!

Truck Died Now Runs Like It's Missing Or Lugging
87MJTIM replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it just started with this tank of gas, have you considered water/cheap gas? Put in some gas addative and run out that tank. -
Dejavu. Does the cigar lighter work? I just had the same issue. What Cruiser54 said. Replace the headlight switch relay. The dash lights, radio, clock and lighter all run through the relay.
