  1. This company sells side panels for the MJ. Several members have bought from him - myself included. http://stores.zmjeeps.com/StoreFront.bok The panel was about $160. Shipping was about the same. The company is outside Toledo, OH, so you may be able to drive there.
  2. He did not ask me for a deposit. He did get my name and number. You should call him.
  3. I spoke with Joe today. He said he will produce about 20 3/2 military wrap springs. It could be done in about 4 weeks. He will post on CC when they're available. I reserved two for me.
  4. Since Joe's last post said that to get a group discount, he needed a run of 10 springs. That's 5 people ordering 2 springs. I think there is enough for a 3/2 w/ double wrap. If there is enough interest in another config, then he may give a discount for that run. You would need to get 5 members to agree to the 3/1 or 4/1.
  5. I like that. I was think of "hearding cats" or "sweeping fleas."
  6. Is there still a discount available? Joe??? It sounds like everyone has different needs and wants. For a group discount do we all have to order the same springs? Do we have to order at the same time? Is it possible to get a discount code to use when ordering?
  7. That what I have recorded for you. My '87 is currently getting restored. So I am looking ot move soon on a purchase.
  8. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the 3/2 is three regular springs with two booster springs. There is only one wrap spring. The two boosters give you a greater weight capasity - 1700 lbs per spring. The 4/1 has four regular springs with one booster. Two of the regular springs wrap around the bolts (front only?) to give additional support (why?). I don't know the weight rating or lift. The 3/1 config give a weight capacity of 1280 lbs per spring. I don't know if there is any lift from 3/1. I am leaning for the 3/2. I don't know why I would need the add'l wrap, but I would like the lift and weight capasity. My $0.02 My reply from GS said that the 3/2 would give approx 1.5" lift
  9. Ok, everyone, I have tried to summerize who has expressed interest in buying sets and the configuration. If I missed someone or got the wrong config, please correct me. Garvin - 3/1 ride172 -3/2 butchershop - 3/2 cpa tim - 3/2 or 4/1 jvd - 3/2 or 4/1 sinkrun - 3/2 or 4/1 86comanche - 3/2 or 4/1 biotex - 4/1 3/2 danbyrambler - 3/2 or 4/1 87warrior - 4/1 tazer15 - 4/1 That make 12 possible customers, but not a committment to the configuration.
  10. I agree. My BA10 is 25 yrs old. Got me 268000 miles. It has never left me stranded or had any work done to it. I change the gear oil for the first time last Sept. Of course, your results may vary. (tounge in cheek. Please don't bash me. Not all of them were bad.)
  11. Put me down for two 3/2. How do we coordinate the ordering, since we are spread out arond the country? How much of discount can we expect?
  12. I do want to be included in the group purchase, I just want to know the details before I commit fully. I am not really needing the "military wrap" spring. What will the cost per spring be? Approx how much lift? When do we/I need to finalize? I emailed GS through their website with my same questions. This was the reply: "The difference between the 3/1 and 3/2 is design and grading of steel. The 3/2 has a higher capacity at 1700 lbs per side while the 3/1 is rated at 1280 lbs per side. The 3/2 will typically sit the truck 1-1/2" taller than stock as long as your current spring is not the 3/2. Shipping will be between $40 - $60 for a pair depending on which spring you decide on."
  13. Thanks. I saw on the General Springs website diagrams of the springs. Do either spring give a lift of 2" to 3"? Like all of us, as we age things start to sag. I am sure my 25+ yr old springs are showing signs of aging.
  14. For a novice about springs, what do the spring numbers mean: 4(3/1) vs. 5(3/2)? How much lift would either spring provide. I am looking for 2" to 3". My current leaves are original. The right side has a broken leaf. So I need to have that repaired/replaced.
  15. The BA10 had phased out by '89. So, if it is original, it is most likely an AX-15. A way to verify it is to look at the trans. If the case is split vertically, left and right halves, then it is a BA10. If it split horizontally, top and bottom halves, then if it is an AX 15.
  16. The carpet is faded. It was kind of beige, but is doesn't match the other colors on the sample page. The switch is for the cargo box light.
  17. My '87 is all original. How can I tell the original color of the carpet. Where are the build codes? This is the interior
  18. jpnjim, Let me write you a prescription for your ocd. 1. purchase a scanner. It should have a document feeder with dual sided scanning. 2. remove the binding from the books. beginning with the ones for the '87s, 3. get yourself an adult beverage. 4. begin scanning. 5. send me the files to review. 6. repeat as necessary.
  19. OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder
  20. See this thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ Download the pdf.
  21. Comanchemodder, If you need electrical diagrams, download the pdf from this thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ It is for an '88 but most of the diagrams match the '87. (I found you MJ detail on another of your posts.)
  22. Which ones did you order - the one volume or two volume? Let me know what you think of them...before I purchase again. BTW, what's the detail on your MJ?
  23. I ordered and receive one last month. $165 freight shipping to 21740 (MD)
  24. The one marked 84-87 had nothing about the 4.0 or BA10/5 (not that I would open up a trans). I think I might contact the seller with questions and concerns.
