  1. I was on the Toyota forums and I found that nobody had anything bad to say about the Comanche. I don't have a truck at present I used to have Toyotas. Correct the Toyota was IFS 86-present and the SAS kits will set you back more than the truck is worth in my opinion. Only the '85 had Fuel injection and a Solid axle. The Comanche seems more ready to go out of the box than the Toyota also a less expensive buy in for the Comanche. The Toyotas will set you back $5k to get a stock truck with decent maintenance records at best on it. Whats really selling me on the comanche is the increase in power the Yotas come with 115Hp on a good day if its fuel injected.
  2. I found a FREE Factory Service manual to years but it says 84-93... It sounds kinda weird but i downloaded it and it seems like a good manual. It has the 4cyl, V6, and 4.0 engines. its like a 366 page manual in PDF form. Can I post a 27meg file on a forum? Id be happy to show everyone what it looks like.
  3. I have really not even been able to find them head to head on the net either. For all the reasons Comanche addict said I've been drawn to the Comanche. The main thing I'm worried about is all the electrical on the Comanche.
  4. Can't you use your GPS on your smart phone to see what your speed is on the freeway? I've used it against my speedometer in my newer car and in friends cars it seems to be right on with the GPS. Any smartphone will have an app that will get you your speed and distance traveled I think.
  5. Hi everyone I have my mind set on a Comanche I've had '85 Toyotas in the past and totally loved them. They were good all around trucks. I saw a Comanche on the freeway and totally forgot they even existed! Iv'e been researching them and they seem to be great vehicles too. Please tell me I'm making a good decision in going from a Toyota loyalist to a new (old) jeep owner..... Or not and why
  6. I am getting my taxes here soon :D and have my mind set on a Comanche. I decided NOT to go with what I've grown up on, a '85 Toyota. I hope I am making the right choice :dunno: Iv'e been doing the research on what to look for and what avoid. I have been looking for a good manual as I know I'm going to have to turn the wrench a lot initially. What are you guys recommending?
