  1. I don't even want to know what that'll cost... Think ya can get a quote?
  2. Dunno if there's a 5spd, but there's an AW6. But it goes under the toyota R151bgshsdjrfdf or w/e. Uh, it might pose a few 'issues' to adapt though.
  3. You're gonna have trouble if you've only got 100... Customs will probably think you're shipping me bomb parts.
  4. Sheesh, we're paying $1.26 a liter for 87ish. That's $4.76 for a US gal. Or $4.38 US. Don't bish. Edit - wait until a European chimes in...
  5. While I am guilty to having tacked a few nuts in place, I'd not suggest welding those things on... A guy might want to take them off sometime... And be able to resell them. Go buy some stovers. Or nylocks. Or red locktite works alright. And Eagle, I'm not framiliar with the design of these things, but the extra clearance in the holes shouldn't be an issue as long as everything is done up tight enough.
  6. They changed the ratio? When? Meh, if you have to buy one new, the dakota box is worth looking into. I need a cab. No, I'm not expecting anybody to try to ship me one.
  7. No, guys need big meaty pictures that show everything. Umm.
  8. What's 270 in *C? I buried my temp gauge once, eventually it stalled when I put the clutch in to shift gears... Umm, anyways, bad gauge... And a 180 stat is low, I think mine is a 198...?
  9. It's all about finding a deal... I picked up my DD XJ (89, 4-oh, AW4, decent shape, only 3 or 4 little rust spots and the typical clear peeling) for the paltry sum of $2400 tax in. That was off a dealer who my mother knows personally, and he gave it to me at cost + 100 (and tax). I'd consider it a good deal for what it was (comparable to ever other one I looked at, if not better). Buddy was himming and hawwing about getting an XJ for his wife. 3 weeks later, he's got an 88, 4.0, AW4, leather interior, no rust, peeling, for $250. Deals exist, you just gotta know enough people.
  10. I'd ask what your first choice is.... But I'm afraid you'll say "ford".
  11. Pull left while seated. They jamb like a mother.
  12. I use those. Just tilt the colum up a bit more. And hope your head doesn't hit the headliner... I can see infront of the hood/header panel better that way.
  13. It'll be a BA10/5 unless it has been swapped - which is possible but not likely. They're not a bad tranny, but are entirely unable to hold up to the torque output of the 4.0. If you find one that has been babied, it'll last as long as the engine. But who does that? So normally they start dropping gears at inoppertune times.
  14. 3" with 35s looks pretty good.
  15. Definatly not mine, I don't run a 44 rear... Or rear bumpstops for that matter... It might be CW's?
  16. One that comes without an engine or axles, but a good body. Yes, I said it.
  17. FWIW, I've looked at running one more than once. I think I found an adapter to mate an AW4 to one, so I might actually do it...
  18. Buick-Olds-Pontiac pattern. Sometimes they say BOPC for buick-olds-poncho-caddy - but not all caddys are actually that pattern. Or something. Anyways, it's more likely called BOP.
  19. No, it's BOP. It's a great light weight engine with huge aftermarket. But there's not much for tranny options unless you use adapters. There's a somewhat larger version of it too - 4.1L.
  20. You could get them in any year MJ other than 86 - they had AMC20s optional.
  21. I agree. Pretty good ones at that. And an aluminum V8.
  22. How about paint the engine too. If you dare - white. No oil leak will be missed!
  23. The point of using an optima is they're a gell-cell and don't have any of the nasties of lead-acid batteries. That'd be puking acid and venting hydrogen and acidic fumes or w/e other nasties come out. You don't want to have the battery near you in a roll-over... Either way, I doubt it would fit. Since you got the battery out of the way, you're now free to remove some inner fender! Okay, the purists will hate that.
