  1. been a while sense the last update, not long after i get the A/C working again in may, I think the gears in the rear diff finally bit the dust.. I know they where on the way out when i put in the D44 but i was hoping they would have lasted a bit longer. A local mechanic quoted me about $500 for new gears in the rear diff. Just need to save up the money now... getting my first tow home (May 24, 2013) my new dash bezel i installed while waiting the 3 hours for the tow truck I also need to fix the coolant from boiling over. it might be time to replace the radiator and the hoses.. I am not sure when the last time they where replaced (if ever). The A/C system seems to be holding its charge finally, I am going to eventually have a vacuum drawn on it, and new R-134a put in.. when i can afford it.
  2. I use Facebook, the only problem I had with them was when they changed their url format and I had to re build my build threads. I also have a flicker account I keep meaning to use instead.
  3. Congrats on your MJOTM! Your MJ looks great!
  4. the front doors from a 4 door Cherokee will work (and so should the interior panel) I want to find some of those as well, not long ago i got a wood grain dash bezel Eagle you beat me to it lol
  5. i have this issue as well, my down pipe is pretty banged up. i think will take a look at those walker down pipes
  6. about 22 years ago Mom, Dad, and my Aunt had a ghost encounter. They where renting an old old house in Opelika, My aunt at the time was taking classes at Auburn. They all had a morning bathroom routine. My aunt would get the first shower, then mom, and dad. One morning mom and dad where waiting for my aunt to get out of the shower and she was taking longer than usual, so they start down the hall to hurry my aunt up when she came walking up the stairs to tell who ever was in the shower to hurry up. they all heard the same thing running water and splashing like someone was taking a shower. but when they all where in the hall it stopped they checked the bath tub and it was dry. they all swore they heard someone in the shower. needless to say it freaked them out a while. I have heard of that. My friend made some knives and sold one as a gift to one of his co-workers, however he only asked 2 cents for it.
  7. Currently Driving a 2006 Jeep Commander Limited (with the HEMI) till I get my Dodge Charger. The Commander is currently getting 14-17 MPG but it drives so very well.. lol Mom's Liberty on the left, My temp Commander on the right
  8. I was emailed a promo codes to JC Whitney, 15% off no min order and free Shipping MID15 expires on 8-14-13 http://www.jcwhitney.com/ is an automotive store for those who haven't heard of them.
  9. Well my tapatalk app for the iPhone won't post anything, I tried about 15 times last night and more today. Final got to my windows computer. Dodge found the problem this morning and have ordered the replacement parts. Ford is paying the bill. Till I get the charger, ford is letting me drive whatever I want on the used lot. Tomorrow I am swapping the fusion for a supercharged mini cooper, I hear they are a blast to drive. But at the moment I am not buying the gas so it works out for me. I did not buy a dodge form the dodge dealer because no one that I have ever spoken with likes them (that dealer), and none of the other dodge dealers had what I wanted.
  10. I missed the bold print in the quote the first time... You are right, I should have.
  11. Yep, had I bought a Ford and the ford dealership waste 3 days would have, But it's the pos dodge stealership that's sitting on their hands. A while back i took my jeep to them for an oil change and they took 2 hours to change the oil in my WK and it was the first one in! Ford has done everything I have asked. Thankfully when I do eventually get the car back I have another Chrysler dealership an hour away for future repairs (hopefully not). I haven't heard anything bad about that one. But there's no telling.. I really should get some sleep...
  12. So Monday I bought a 08 Dodge Charger R/T from a Ford dealership the test drive went great the engine was running smooth and the car is in great over all condition. But when I was handed the keys to drive off the lot, it would not start. They lent me a 2013 fusion for the day (with all the bells and whistles it was cool) and when I came back they discovered it had a slight problem with the ignition system and a module dealing with the smart key had to be replaced by the local dodge stealership and they would cover any and all costs to get it running properly. So Tuesday morning they take it to dodge, I come back that afternoon at 6 and the guy I have been working with was on the phone with the dodge stealership (I could hear most of the conversation) he informed me that dodge did not look at the car yet but they would in the morning. So this morning I call dodge and was redirected around the service department 3 times before someone would tell me the status of my car, "we haven't looked at it yet but we will this afternoon". Called dodge again at 4pm and same as be for only "we will have it done by tomorrow". The dodge stealership has a bad customer service reputation as you may have guessed. And in the last year or so they changed the name of the place but use the same slogan but replaced the old name with the new one... The only plus side to this is the ford dealership thus far has let me drive pretty much whatever I want. Don't get a fwd Jeep patriot they are scary as hell to drive in the rain. And the 07 fusion actually drives very well on the interstate... I also haven't had to buy gas this week, which is nice... But hopefully I will have my Charger tomorrow! I really want to play with the HEMI... Err, I mean the "better" mpg over the WK...
  13. I don't know where to get one but, if the TB is too large it will have a negative effect on performance and or response.
  14. My biggest thing will be finding something in my price range. The dodge I really wanted (4 door 5.9L 6 speed) sold in a hurry for $15k. I found a 2003 7.3L 4 door lariat for $15,000 and it does not have a ton of miles on it like some of the other trucks I have seen it its year range. Still looking however. Maybe a dodge will pop up.
  15. So far I am leaning towards Dodge, with the 6 speed.
  16. I have heard a lot of good stuff about the Cummings motors, the Dodge auto trannys on the other hand, thats where it gets iffy.. the F-250 we had (the 6.0L turbo Diesel) we never had an engine or transmission related issue.
  17. so my grille guard is not stock but it is usable with a stock bumper, not sure if that's what you meant.. Anyway, I have a warn Trans4mer grille guard center, with the brush guards, and winch carrier. the trans4mer has several parts that can be added on or removed whenever you want.
  18. I have decided I can no longer get by with out a F-250 or 2500 (or larger) any more. There have been so many time since we sold the F-250 that we have needed a truck that can safely tow heavy stuff. I may be selling my Grand Cherokee and put that money into savings for the future truck. I have looked at a 02 Ford with a 7.3L, it was if good condition with normal wear and 180K miles, they where asking $12K for it. There was a 06 Dodge 2500 with the 5.9L Cummings motor as well, Manual tranny, and just over 100k miles, they where asking $15K. Our F-250 was a 07 with a 6.0 Power Stroke, Auto tranny, 2wd. it was awesome. What are your personal experiences with the Dodge 2500 and up with the Cummings motors and Manual vs Auto, and the older 7.3L F-250 and up trucks, towing a heavy load. A manual tranny won't bother me at all, as long as it has cruse control lol we have a 36 foot camper that I have towed a few hundred miles several times with our 07 F-250, before we sold the truck. so I have an idea how that year model runs under load thanks in advance for your insights and advise
  19. :agree:
  20. that look awesome!
  21. the link is not working for me,, Chrome was adding en extra apace and / to the link http://mashable.com/2013/07/12/the-pixar-theory/ // I just read the article its pretty interesting
  22. When Joe Cool (my youngest beagle) was 3 months old this past February I accidentally drove over his back foot. Somehow i did not break every bone in his leg, the bones where cracked but not broken. the ball joint in his heel was shattered into dozens of pieces but was still in tact. he had surgery the following morning. and during his recovery he did very well. and was a little to active. the doc also said he woild have a crooked toe as well but its not noticeable. It sounds like Gus will be back to clearing the yard in no time.
  23. :agree:
  24. When mom and dad where looking for another jeep they looked at the patriot and the compass. They disliked both of them, they where too small on the inside. Her 03 KJ was huge on the inside compared to them. They ended up getting a 2012 Liberty, and mom still loves it. I had also looked at the patriot for myself at one point and did not care for it. Then the sales man showed me a 09 WK and I loved it.
