  1. could be possible the flywheel is warped causing physical contact with the cps. was it a new or used flywheel?
  2. I removed my floor vent... i was planning to modify a cherokee vent, close off the opening for the rear vents.
  3. talked to the mechanic today, he has been busy lately, should have my jeep back next week.. That works for me as my card expired last month anyway and i am still waiting on it to arrive...
  4. Because you have the I4 if it is the AMC 20 then it may have been swapped in as some point.. if it was swapped in by the last owner there is no way of knowing if it came from an auto or standard... there may still be a ratio tag on the diff cover, but i would pull the cover and count teeth to be sure. also would be a great time to change the diff fluid Edit: have pictures?
  5. :agree: if possible MJ D44 or AMC 20, the rear flares and hardware, the truck bed.... Factory Hitch shock mounts (axle side) while not just for MJs the AX-15 bracket (the part that goes between the transmission and the rubber mount) would be a good score.. When i was looking for mine it was a PITA trying to find one down here. I had to order one on some mopar warehouse web store... last week I finally found one in the P&P so i grabbed it even tho i don't "need" it, someone else might be having issues finding one like i did
  6. when the flywheel was swapped was it properly aligned?
  7. how long have you had the motor in your 86? Has it been rebuilt recently? is the new fuel pump for a HO 4.0, or the stock V6 or I4? When was the distributor replaced last? Have you tried another engine computer? Have you checked the timing? I can't really help, but more info will likely get better and quicker response.
  8. :agree: I have 31x10.5 tires on my MJ, just have minimal rubbing on the LCAs. not sure of your current engine, and gear setup, but lower gears may be needed. I started with 3.07 (kinda sucked), then swapped axles to 3.55, currently regearing to 4.10
  9. does your truck have ac? mine ac was not hooked up, but when i forgot that defrost uses ac i thought i had a high idle issue, turns out that when the ac is on or defrost (but not vent), the engine revs up expecting the load of the ac compressor to bring it back to normal.
  10. I took it up to my local quick lube that one if our friends own. They swapped out the oil and filter (with my oil and filter), checked the air filter, would have topped of the washer fluid have I not told them I use my own stuff, checked the tire pressure, and discovered my car was one of the few Chrysler brand cars that actually had the cabin air filter. It was also changed out because it WAS very dirty. In and out in maybe 20 min. Faster if I was not chatting with them.. I went with mobile 1 full synthetic, the higher tier of it what ever it was... I haven't realized that the 5.7 uses 7 quarts of oil! -- I usually drive conservatively, however if I am getting on the interstate (I rarely do) then I drop it into auto-stick and floor it! I could easily hit above 80 before I even leave the exit ramp.
  11. Well I decided to change the oil my self so I would know exactly what oil was in it... And due to the shorter tires used by the last owner, I just bearly can't use my ramps... If it had the proper tires I would be fine. Guess I will be taking it to the quick lube shop after all...
  12. back when i first looked at the Cherokee trail hawk, why was the I-4 the default engine over the V-6? one would think the stronger engine would be preferred for "off road"... or does the smaller engine package have a better overall gearing package?
  13. it needs an oil change anyway, I may take it to the dealership Saturday. and let them change the oil, top off fluids, check the transmission fluid, and re-calibrate the speedometer to accommodate for the shorter tires the last owner put on it... if the trend continues, somethings up
  14. they say the MDS should increase fuel economy up to 20% 16 + 20% = 19.2 if my math is right that is 16 x 1.2 = 19.2 Just a thought
  15. all my driving is the same everyday to to and from work.. maybe twice a month i will drive into town after work.. I drive about 40 miles a day to and from work and between our two locations. (14 miles one way to work highway most is 55 MPH speed limit) usually i fill up at one of two gas stations, only once have i used another. and i try to use the same pump every time. I did check my oil and it is at the add line.. I think i read somewhere that the MDS only works with certain oil weight, and oil level.. I would add oil but i am unsure if it has full synthetic or a blend, there are no engine codes. ---- I will keep an eye out for you if i come across one.
  16. So I filled up my charger today, normally i get 18-19 mpg but today when i filled up i got 16 MPG... I did not change how i was driving, did not sit with the engine running. the car drove like it always does, no issues on performance. I know its time for an oil change, maybe something oil related caused MDS not to kick in... idk.. next tank will show if this trend continues. Check engine light is not on, but will double check this afternoon and run my scanner on it.
  17. the default forum time zone may be different than the selected time zone for members.. when you sign up it usually asks for time zone. this way it will display corrected time vs current server time
  18. how does one replace the door cylinders? the ones in dad's MJ have died and won't unlock.
  19. I had an 05 WK 4.7 v8 2WD, it was nice. And I miss it, wish i could have kept it and the Charger. My WK was the same color as yours. The auto-stick is fun, that is one of my favorite features. I did not know that they had an OEM lift option.
  20. I entered, the funny thing is I have been looking for one if those rifles after I bought my first Mosin Nagant 2 weeks ago.
  21. How far did you notch it? My jeep is at the shop so I can't do anything to it at the moment. Also your font is set to nano print.
  22. Thanks! While it is not as fancy or easly adjustable as your's, it gets the job done.. but i am not actually sure mine works....
  23. Looks like a lot of fun! I loved my 05 WK even if it only had the 4.7. My 08 Charger R/T had the performance package and is fun to drive I can't imagine how much fun driving an SRT would be. what octane does the 6.4 use?
  24. :agree: use a hammer to bend that lip for clearance. your windshield washer tank may also need to be moved
