  1. jcwhitney had a slight marketing mess up and are selling them for listed price apparently.. several people on face book claims its true and did infact buy the lockers for anywhere from 377 to 600 depending on the axle. http://www.jcwhitney.com/arb-air-locker/p2028453.jcwx?skuId=3035328&filterid=d1163y1988g131j1 http://www.jcwhitney.com/arb-arb-air-locker/p2028453.jcwx?filterid=d1163y1988g131j1
  2. When i was running Stock sized tires I had Uniroyal Liberator A/T tires (225/75R15). I never had any issues with them and they are currently on my dad's MJ. They had good traction and a good ride for cheap Walmart tires. I have General Grabber AT2 tires on my MJ at the moment (31x10.5R15), They are similar to the BFG A/T. I have heard good thing about the Cooper tires. My opinion for Truck and SUV tires are get at least A/T if you plan to use it for any ward work... but that's just me.
  3. Went up to my local Off Road shop today. I dropped off my parts and set up an appointment to have the front E-Locker installed. I will be dropping it off Wednesday of next week and should have it back that Friday.
  4. Factory Bucket seats with a XJ console
  5. It's not as bad as it looks. Not much was removed, just enough to allow proper drop.
  6. This weekend i finally got around to installing the WJ LCAs. here is a pic showing the required modifications to the axle mounts When I get a chance I am going to install the WJ UCAs as well.
  7. Lunch box locker + c-clip D35 sounds like a lot of fun. But I agree, I have an Aussie auto locker in the rear and I like the added traction. They are easy to install and relatively cheap. Just make sure the ring gear is put back on the carrier on at the same spot.. Mark the gear and carrier with some paint, a sharpie won't really work.
  8. That's that I did, only i went with CV joints instead of the larger U-joints.
  9. Keep in mind that if you buy just the LSD you will be getting a new gear carrier, that means the gears will need to be set up. Best thing to do is try to locate an axle (D44, 8.25, or D35) that already has the LSD and have some one move the spring perches if needed. If you know someone who can setup gears on the cheap then it's a toss up between the two options. I paid $250 for a gear swap in the rear axle (not including parts).
  10. Be sure to get new ubolts for the swap
  11. I decided it was finally time to install the WJ LCAs. I was getting tired of tires rubbing on sharp turns. I have WJ UCAs but I did not want to swap them out just yet as my daylight was limited. The picture below shoes some of the modifications to the axle side LCA mount. the bushings on the LCAs need to be trimmed to fit the mounts. I finished installing the drivers side first. The passengers side went in without much trouble. My new Warn light bar arrived today as well. I installed new switches that matched the one for the Elocker. They fit the stock holes perfectly I finished installing the light bar and some cheap lights from the Auto parts store. I plan to get better lights in the future. The top two lights are "driving" lights and are aimed towards the sides of the road. Those lights are looked up via relay and can be activated at any time. The bottom tow lights are "fog" lights and are hooked up through the Factory setup.
  12. I know the D44 is longer requiring the drive shaft to be shortened. I think the 8.25 is the same
  13. I started gathering the various manuals I have and uploading them to my Skydrive account. My Signature Should have a working link the the folder. I will add any other manuals I don't have, just point me towards them. I am willing to contribute 5 GB of my storage for a unified manual repository.
  14. There is a member who has several files on a personal server. I just don't remember who.
  15. Site side storage usually means more money. It would be better if members hosted the files on cloud storage servers with free storage like: Google Drive, Microsoft Skydrive, Drop Box, and my most resent discovery Pogoplug. Then post a public URL to the file. If a few members of the club where to do this then the usage of the "free" storage would be minimal per user.
  16. He wants to remove the heater valve so that it is always circulating. I have been thinking about doing the same. It won't affect the use of ac because of the air mixer flap.
  17. welcome to the club! A while back I started converting my 1988 owners manual to PDF, but was side tracked. That an the booklet fell apart so it night be missing a few pages... I am just about finished with one of my other side projects so hopefully i can finish converting mine. I know there is a copy of the 88 service manual and parts catalog floating around here somewhere.
  18. well with the oil filled up it runs like nothing ever happened
  19. from the factory it would have had the chin spoiler, however i think the last owner hit a steep drive way, or speed bump and raked it off. i am also missing a small section of the side skirts on the drivers side. eventually i will get all that replaced, after the new proper sized tires are put on.
  20. Are those the 99 - 2004 WJ lowers? yes, somewhere on Comanche Club a member also used the WJ UCAs with slight trimming around the passenger side UCA body mount. I seem to have lost the bookmark. but i was planning to use WJ UCAs and LCAs on my MJ. EDIT: Located that WJ UCA thread http://comancheclub.com/topic/19279-wj-upper-control-arms-installed/?hl=upper+control+arms
  21. i have the full gauge cluster, the only thing i looked at on my way to work was the speed fuel and temp. it never over heated. Did not even think about the oil till i got out of the truck.
  22. Note to self... Always check the oil if you don't remember the last time you checked it... I was driving to work when the engine started running a little rough.. i was only 2 min from work when it started acting up, so kept going.. I Checked to oil and it was about half way between the end of the dip stick and the fill line. Later i am going to get someone to drive me to the parts store for some oil. I see a past due oil change in the very near future.
  23. how about a mud bath? well this did not really do much for the truck, but the tires and rims where nice and clean!
  24. there is also a "mobile" version if tapatalk starts acting up again.
