I wondered if SEM Color Coat would work it's magic... only one way to find out!
-
For used ones, has anyone tried to spray paint them? I have two that work, but are extremely faded.

Factory bed light pictures + measurements

I've got one of the aftermarket lights that @ghetdjc320 linked above, if there's anything else you need (or want another tester) let me know! -
I think you'll need the brackets, too? Not sure how they hook up.

Awesome! No need to hang onto these spares I got that are pretty crusty, lol

This is what's listed for a '92, which should be the same? https://www.westinautomotive.com/fey-diamond-step-bumpers/1992/jeep/comanche

Gonna get down to like 0 degrees with a feels like -30 wind chill in the Boston area tonight.

Should we try to plan it for April 2023?

I always start with the bulbs. I was chasing down a no-reverse light issue for hours on another car, swapped out the NSS, etc. when both bulbs were burnt out. Duh!

Factory Tow Mirror disassembly
acfortier replied to Anthi4078's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
FWIW, the mirror can be removed from the outside mount and replaced, if necessary. I had purchased these to go on the outside mount, since the mirrors themselves were in poor condition: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A0NEES/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -

Great info! Might make sense to move over to the DIY section? -

I reached out to the JY I bought the above gauges from, and they were able to find another set and are going to send them out to me free of charge--sweet! Non-photo (and not exciting) update: * Replaced both non-functional washer pumps. Had to remove the plastic washer that is on the inside of the pumps, just couldn't get the nut/filter threaded back on with it. Didn't seem to leak when I did a quick test, but I'll know for sure next time I go work on the Eagle. Both front and rear work great (even though the driver's side seems to be angled too far up and hits the roof) * Replaced the warm air duct that was missing from the manifold to the air cleaner. Kinda took forever, had to remove a few things to get enough leverage. * Replaced the fuel tank vent line that goes to the vapor storage canister since it was cracked. A couple other of those lines are cut/missing, so I'll have to track them down and replace them next time around. * Finally put on some wipers. That's about it. I plugged in the new cluster w/ tach, but I'll have to run wires to hook up the tach correctly. Additionally, I was trying to get the low washer fluid light to show up in the cluster, and it wouldn't. Not sure if I'm missing something--I figured shorting the two terminals on the connector would turn the light on. Confirmed that the bulb was working as well... so maybe something else is broken downstream? Didn't try to short it out at the back of the board. While checking the lights, noticed the seatbelt light never illuminates, and tested the brake light... by using the e-brake, which wouldn't depress. I know I'm going to need to make sure it does work, since that's needed for safety inspection. Didn't have time to swap out the alternator with a higher amperage unit I got from eBay (and that has the proper 2-wire connector on the back) nor the NOS water pump I got from eBay (which is almost as old as me, lol). Lots of work left to be done! -
Automatic sliding rear window? I'd love to see more about that!

Got some more goodies in! Found a cluster with a tach AND rally gauges across the country! The unfortunate part is, it seems like whoever pulled them from the JY I bought them from, broke the needles on the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge... ugh. Going to have 0 luck finding replacements for either of those, I'm guessing. -
SRT Comanche build

Curious, which tonneau cover is that? -
It's definitely not flat, I'd say semi-gloss. Reflects a decent amount of light.

I think Landau is supposed to be a pretty-close match--it's what I used to paint my steering column, to make my dash, and it looks pretty good to me. I haven't painted any trim pieces, but I think the lower valence I got from the PO of my truck was painted in the same Landau Black.

I thought the bulletin from Chrysler on doing the conversion was posted somewhere--I would think that would have all of the info you're looking for.

I think you're the 4th person to post outside of the main thread, here:

Parts needed for a waggy header
acfortier replied to Smokeyyank's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For the headlamps, RockAuto lists these: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1989,wagoneer,4.0l+242cid+l6,1184633,electrical-bulb+&+socket,headlamp+socket,4056 They look correct to me. I'd compare the side markers + turn signal sockets to see if the current existing plugs from any MJ/XJ fit into it? -
new full taillight assembly coming from Oracle!
acfortier replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Those don't look bad at all. When I had a Gladiator, I bought their flush mount taillights, since the stock ones are awful looking. -
new full taillight assembly coming from Oracle!
acfortier replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Curious as to, "why now?" for Oracle to make these. Maybe it'll spur the reproduction of other highly sought after parts that are no longer available. -
It looks like they're big into Japanese imports. And looking at their inventory, holy smokes on the prices. Can you imagine paying $30k for a mid-90's Hilux?
