Got mine from a comanche at a jy for $20 so they DO.....or did make them specifically for the comanche. It even has "comanche" in vinyl lettering on it.

Possible answer to your brake/turn signal issue.... I use to have a couple dodge neons and they were known for having the same issue. The fix was the turn signal assembly. Not sure if its the same setup but for what its worth, hold the brake and mess with the turn signal arm and see if your lights go back to normal. If so then there's your answer.

Ahhhh, A bench seat changes the whole program. In that case I would get some lumber and custom make one exactly the way ya want it.

I put in a cherokee console and found the factory original cup holders for it which I guess are hard to find

I have the high alt package on mine too and I found my CPS at a carquest I believe it was, here in town for $35

On an 87 I use to have I had the rollbar w/lights and on the front bumper I had the rectangular dark amber fog lights in front of the grill and under the bumper on the ends I mounted the low profile clear lights. they were something like 4" or so long by about 2" tall. With that setup the lighting was wonderful at night. Unfortunatly I do not have any pics, sorry.

My 86 is two tone silver and charcoal with all red interior. Also has bucket seats, 2.5, 5spd, 2wd, metric ton, full gauge dash except for tach.

I found one from the jy for $20. Installed it with nuts, bolts, rubber washers and for added measure, put clear silicone on it too. it does not leak a drop and ive tested it with a high pressure hose at a car wash. Like hornbrod said, its easily reversible just fill the holes and you'll never know it was ever there. As long as its not cracked or chipped anywhere it will clean up nice. a little sanding, primer and paint and your good to go.

If ya get those issues fixed let me know cause it sounds pretty close to the same thing mine is doing. same year and motor. Please let me know your results

Just my 2 cents worth........I got 250,000 on my 86 2.5 5spd rust free all original. I do tinker with things on the weekends but thats to be expected for a 25 yo truck but I can honestly say I would feel comfortable taking it on a cross country trip if I had to.

Wow, all those views and nobody knows? Did I stump everybody?

Was just curious if anybody knows how the shift light system is controlled? Mine always lit the very second I let off the clutch. I pulled the bulb and have no want or need for it. I'm more curious than anything about how it works and can the setting be changed so it lights at the correct rpm?

Will a reciever hitch from a cherokee bolt up to a comanche or is there a difference?

I have a net that is plain black. Free if you or anybody wants it. I believe I also have the 4 metal tabs for mounting it too. It was behind the seat when I got the truck and have no need or want for it. Otherwise theres a jy nearby that had about 4 comanches. I believe one, if not more had tailgates. I can check next time I'm there.

Thanks Jim, Thats exactly what I need. Have a beer on me! I owe ya one. As for the other posts, The parts stores and that other site only have straight hose. As I said before, from the looks of it, straight hose would more than likely kink. Thanks anyway though.

The part stores said they didn't have one big enough to match the filler. (pissed me off, I called ahead and they said they could match everything up so I dropped the tank and went in. I get there and they said they didn't have anything so I put it all back together with the old parts.) Does the cherokees use the same hoses? I doubt straight hoses would work cause there isn't a lot of space between the bed and frame rail. I would think it would kink from the looks of it

I beg to differ, on my 86 2.5 I ran for a while (months) without a tank. Then I found a universal tank from napa for $8. The only time I ever get coolant in that tank is when I open the rad cap when its hot. Not tryin to be an @$$ or anything, just sayin my results are not consistant with the last answer given.

Does anybody by chance know of a place where I can get the filler and vent hose for the tank? Also need the two rubber rings on the top of the tank. The ones for the pressure valves. No luck with local parts stores. (autozone, napa, pepboys, etc...) Also called the Jeep dealer and they said they are no longer available. Thanks in advance for any help

Then your missin that rod that has a cable that is supose to attach to the automatic shifter. It prevents you from turning the key all the way back without the trans being in park.

the only issue you'll have is ya won't be able to turn the key all the way back without manually pushing a rod on the underside of the column. I have a auto column in my 5 spd
