  3. Find it and put it back in........ don't go the cheap route. I tried that once and ended up swappin new parts out 5 times before I could get it to work.
  4. Theres no "sensor" to swap for the tach. Its plug and play ONLY if its from another 4cyl. Otherwise you'll have to mess with it to get it set correctly
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't ya need a cluster from a 4cyl for the tach to work right?? Otherwise I've seen a few threads about adjusting the tach so you can use a 6cyl cluster in a 4cyl.
  6. Yeah good luck finding one for a decent price. I'm in the same boat. Going to rebuild mine. As long as your gears inside are fine, you can get a rebuild kit (seals, bearings, syncros and gaskets) for a couple hundred bucks.   8. Those look pretty good. I'd buy em if the price is right. Probably about as close as you'll get to factory originals anyway.
  9. Normally you just use it for tuning but You can leave it hooked up if you choose. It won't harm anything if you do. If your in need of dual antennas let me know. I have a pair of wilson 3ft tuneable tips with ground wires. Brand new never installed. Ordered them from amazon but decided I wanted 2ft instead. Was just going to ship em back unless your interested.

  13. How about an area for the 2wd trucks...even the 2.5s too??? There's ALOT of great info on the site but I notice that almost all of it relates to 4.0 4x4 which is great but would be nice to have some area for the other options out there. Myself personally, and maybe i'm the only one, has no intention of ever changing the truck to 4x4. I would rather take it to the speedway/strip to see what it will run than off-road it. Anyway, that's just my random thought of insanity! Great site otherwise though. Just doesn't leave much to us 2wd guys (if there are any out there)

  15. Will an ax5 from a 2.8 work in a 2.5? What needs to be changed?
  16. Thats true I could but the problem is its tough to find one for a 2.5. Most everything out there is 4.0
  17. As far as anything recently posted I found one but its 4wd and it seems I need one from a 2wd so that won't work. Guess I may have to go the rebuild route. Anybody have a source for a decent rebuild kit for these things??
  18. Not so sure I'm crazy about the shape its in. that shaft seems pretty rough. also looks like its been left outside for a while and not closed up on the top. something to look into more I guess though. Thanks for the link.

  22. Got a line on an AX-5 that was rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. Hes askin $400? Is that a good deal for what it is?
  23. Just something to get by for now. Already have the 350 and trans but its in my storage 1600 miles away. Just want to find something from the jy to throw in it for the time being.
  24. 5 spd, 2wd and going to keep it that way. have no intentions of ever changing it to 4x4
  25. Something let loose inside the trans. was shifting a little hard ever since I had the master and slave issues. Lost 1st and 2nd. When ya put it in the 1st position the shifter just falls into the 2nd position. Anyway, the questions is what trans should I upgrade to? Any recommendations???
