Truck is stalling out

Gotta find one with chrome bristles otherwise I doubt he'll use it and it'll just collect dust on a shelf -

What's your battery preference and why?
Harley replied to Comanche County's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Odyssey was the only battery I could find that held up to the shock and vibration on a hardtail chopper I built a few years back. Everything else would last a couple weeks if I was lucky. Almost 4 years and its still going strong. Optima is the only one that holds up to the heat here in the desert. Most batteries last a year or two down here and that is it. I have seen the optima last 5+ years. Just my two cents worth. -
Over heating on beach. Cooling upgrade?
Harley replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would shop around a bit before I would buy from Mac's. I was checking out the website and noticed the plastic universal tank they offer is WAY over priced. They want $40 and I bought the same exact thing a few months back from Oreillys I believe it was for about $8! Just sayin shop around and check prices. -
Filling rear pipe bumper with concrete - myth?
Harley replied to LobsterThief's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well that would be a silly place to put your rear bumper! :D Yeah, I'm not familiar with that mod. You have a writeup for that Pete??? -

Take the chrome caps off and a 10mm socket. Also, disconnect the wires if its lighted. -
Do what I do... Option A. Finger If that doesn't work I go to option B. Air horns from a Peterbuilt mounted on the frame rails. That get's their attention!

I'm not trying to say youre wrong, and I know they were designed a certain way for a reason, but the experience of myself and others shows no loss of performance or reliability doing this. And there isnt an inspection station anywhere that will gamble the cost of inspecting the inside of a cat. Now if our trucks had an after cat monitor, this would be a different story. In that case, having the guts inside is mandatory to keep the CEL off. I know it is better to keep everything intact in most cases, but this isnt one of them. :agree: These trucks were designed in a different era. Our systems are alot more simplified than they are nowadays and that's how we can get away without a cat. I have yet to see somebody at a smog station know the sound difference. All they know is what the computer screen tells them, pass or fail. Beyond that they don't know much.....at least from what I've seen in this region anyway.

Black and red is always a good combo.

Go with fox pecker pink!

I got Farmers and they just told me the age is the only requirement. I'm going to do the plates too then at least I'm exempt from the smog BS they have here and my registration will only be $10/yr. Didn't know State Farm had an approval process. That almost sounds like a pain in the @$$ to deal with.

http://www.lkqcorp.com/index.aspx I've dealt with them here in the past and have been pretty pleased.
-
IF you qualified?? Which Co. do you go through? I always thought the only requirement is if its 20 yrs or older??? (I know the age varies from state to state IIRC)

Just curious what people are paying for full coverage? Also, if anybody has collector ins and what they pay? Within the next couple months it will be in a LOT better shape than when I got it a year ago and plan on changing my policy. I was told that I should also have it appraised when its all done.

The difference is a sun visor is plain and a moon visor has 5 running lights. Looks wise they are identical. Good luck finding one though. From what I understand they are comanche specific meaning if you happen to find one on a cherokee ya might have a hard time getting it to fit. I lucked out and found mine in the jy on a comanche for $20. Not too many of em out there.

Is it just me or does anybody else see a suzuki samurai on Pete's profile pic?? Sure looks like one to me. Looks good Pete but the problem with that is the "ford" part you mentioned. Just don't think I could live with myself if I went that route!
-
Yeah it is pretty clean and looks good. I think he's a bit of a chrome lady of the night though! lol
-
Looks good Don. That is exactly what I am lookin for. to match the front. Thanks!
-
Does anybody run spacers on the rear to bring the tires out to match the front? And if so, which ones/sizes do ya have?? Pics would be nice too. Maybe i'm just picky but the way it looks drive's me nuts!

Rubber bed mat/bed question
Harley replied to OverlandMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I prefer the 100 footers. Plenty of length and they also have a neat little crank handle to wind it back up! -

Wow, did somebody use your axle as a blender for some cake mix???

So the graphite powder won't affect the tint at all? Never would have guessed that. I'll have to give it a try.
