  1. ive seen that one listed a couple times...i live in PHX so i popped in to look at it b/c he had another one i was interested in....both were junk and hacked together...LOL....i told him to have a nice day :D
  2. i got a high flow cat, flowmaster 40 and custom bent 2 1/2" exhaust that dumps above the leafspring behind the pass. rear tire for $185 :D
  3. yea u have the same set-up i do...3 leaves then the overload...that is a factory D44 just w/ the tow-prep...mines the same way
  4. well mine was simple... drained the oil, removed the starter(disconnect battery first!), then drop the oil pan, remove the main cap and replace the seal...its a 2 piece and i used a wood punch to remove the upper portion...just don't nick that crank or you will have some problems...then put it all back together.... i just followed my Haynes and it went smoothly..got it my first try then tackled all the other leaks such as Valve cover, and Oil filter o-rings
  5. yea mine doesnt even have a bolt there...thats just to hold the shield on to protect the clutch and flywheel...honestly sound more like a front seal on the trans....are you sure its gear fluid...mine was dripping from there too and when i replaced the rear main seal it stopped
  6. My XJ did that when i bought it..and only averaged about 11MPG..here was my solution: Tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter) cleaned the CCV and all breathers cleaned the IAC and set the TPS replaced the Oxygen sensor my XJ now avg about 19 MPG now and idles like a champ
  7. thx...i posted those up b/c i have seen some of the trans spread out through all those years...may have been swapped...but who knows
  8. I'm kinda lost...can you take a pic of where its leaking from?? if its the bolt I'm thinking of thats there to hold on the flywheel shield...i don't even have a bolt in there...sounds more like a front seal on the input of the trans is leaking...
  9. yea it supposed to do that...don't worry mine did the same thing and i called a good friend(also a jeeper) and he said its normal
  10. I'm planning on putting my Detroit EZ-Loc in the back of my XJ (d35) and running it till it blows up...then swapping to an 8.8 w/disks also...already have the MORE kit :D
  11. too much power for that D35..... :nanner:
  12. Yeah I agree, white is one of the best colors you can have. it doesn't show dirt as bad as a dark color (unless you wheel with Jeepco ;) ) it stays cooler, looks good when everything is blacked out (windows, black trim) you can wax it without worrying with swirl marks, lots of benefits to having white paint.. :agree: WHITE RULES!!!! :D
  13. i picked up a rust free 90 4.0 shortbed MJ a couple months ago for $300 with a low compression motor...guy wanted a $800 and i told him no way b/c id have to replace the motor and rebuild the trans since both had over 350,000 on them...so we agreed on the price and i drove it home...should have kept it but a friend needed a new truck so i fixed it up and sold it to him for $1300...it all depends on if the guy is willing to negotiate..i have never paid asking price for a vehicle :D
  14. Well i have both...my MJ is a 5spd and my XJ is an A/T...both have advantages and dissadvantages. Yea the TCU is a standalone and its below the glove box under the knee panel...and i think that you need the portion of the harness that connects from the main over to the TCU...then down to the acutal Transmisson...if you get a parts XJ make sure you take everything...and going from 2wd to 4wd you would need the trans, t/c, driveshafts from the doner and wiring for the trans(if you go to an A/T)
  15. I bought mine for $1500: 1987 Jeep Comanche 4x4 -4.0 -5spd BA10/5 -D30 -D44 -A/C, P/S, P/B etc it had (still has) not a spec of rust anywhere and was in great shape...$2500 is a little steep but if thats what he wants I'm sure some poor person will pay full price for it
  16. yea 205 is not bad at all...if you have a 195* thermostat with it open its not going to drop below 200*....my MJ runs at 205* at idle all day and no problems what so ever...my XJ runs the same..both have open cooling systems
  17. if you want a direct bolt in application...these will work with the 4.0: Manual Trans: BA 10/5--->used 87-91 AX 15--->used 90-92 (MJ) 90-00(XJ) i would double check the trans in the XJ b/c it could have either...i would recommend trying to locate an AX15...youll be much happier if you stay with the 5spd Auto Trans: AW4--->uses 87-92(MJ) 87-01 These came factory behind the 4.0 and are the easier ones to swap between...there is some more work going from a M/T to an A/T such as the TCU, kickdown cable and linkage at the T/B and the wiring needed... which are you doing....A/T to M/T or M/T to A/T???
  18. yea they are not cheap in anyway...i just figured i needed it done so i spent the money...mine were a bit cheaper b/c i know the guy who got them for me :D
  19. Man i wish my XJ was a BadA$$ as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMX7AJzjq-o
  20. this one has a 4cylinder housing...would that work for you??
  21. bummer...too bad i had a line on one for $30 bucks out of a totaled 95 Dakota and just recently rebuilt too w/paperwork...oh well guess i can wait for another
  22. would and AX15 out of a 4cylinder dakota bolt up to the 4.0???
  23. AX-5 was used behind the 2.8 and the 4 banger AX-15 was put behind the 4.0L different internal gear setups to handle the diffence in power i believe...just a guess
  24. it happens....don't feel bad..i was told that i had a D35 in the back of my MJ when i first got it...come to find out 3 1/2yrs later its a factory D44...yea learn something new everyday....just gotta take it in stride  next ones on me :chillin:
