  1. Are skunks related to "possum"? :waving: :jump:
  2. My other two MJs are Pioneers and still have their stripes, if I do add stripes they would be the ones that came stock (see signature-All Stock All the Time) with this truck, the SPORTRUCK stripes. It's GREAT to hear everyones opinion and the diversity of opinions is really interesting. Thanks for all your input, please keep it coming!!!
  3. In that picture, the four vertical pieces only have two studs, all MJ brackets have three studs. When you pull yours off, you'll see each one is stamped with its location (some can go in two different places), some say "cargo box" which implies they are unique to the MJ.
  4. No, the PIONEER stripes extend from the front to the back with the hockey stick blade behind the rear wheel, the SPORTRUCK stripes are as pictured; the hockey stick blade starts at the front of the door and extends to the back.
  5. There's a guy on e-Bay that's been posting the SPORTRUCK stickers and says he can make them in any color. You guessed my age!!!:jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:
  6. Just got it repainted and I just finished putting all the trim, mirrors, door handles, fender flares, antenna, bumpers, etc. back on. I still have to install the emblems. The pictures above are of the actual truck as it sits right now and the stripes photoshopped in for comparison.
  7. I know it's up to me, I'm asking for OPINIONS in the form of a poll. Thanks for your time, I know how bored you are "Lockwire Guy". ;)
  8. Just got the MJ repainted and reassembled. Should I reapply the SPORTRUCK stripes?
  9. Inevitably you will break a couple of studs, I have on all three of my MJs. What I've done is grind off the stud heads and punch out the studs. Then braze in new bolts (Stainless is preferred with the right brazing rod). I use this brazing kit, relatively inexpensive and very easy to use: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... lpage=none It's pretty easy, just time consuming because I decided to replace all 36 studs every time. Good luck.
  10. The inner measurements at the top of the bed (inside the front rail to the tailgate) of mine are: SWB 73" x 55" (outer: 60" from flat portions of side rails) Add a couple of inches for the front rail and the tailgate. 19" high puts you at about the top of the rear window gasket in the center.
  11. Nope. BLHTAZ is correct. That hose seems to be for a non-AC model.
  12. If it only blows through the defrost vents it's probably the vacuum line. There should be a vacuum canister in the front bumper on the passenger side. Trace the small hard line and check for cracks, usually where it runs by the battery. That's where I found the problem in two of my MJs.
  13. I took the lazy way out. I cut through bottom center part of the shroud so I could spread it and pass it over the fan and into place. I figured the bottom tabs will hold it together.
  14. Don't listen to T. The rest of us want to see em. :D And SW2 is only 15 minutes from the beach. :D
  15. It says "200±75 ohms (hot engine)", if it won't start engine can't be hot is the reading different when cold as in the MAT or Coolant sensors?
  16. And it smells good too!! I've used a wire wheel in my drill press to take paint off, surprisingly the chrome was still intact, just needed a little polishing. Will this work? The Comanche emblems are plastic with a chrome overlay (on mine anyway), powder coating requires temps of ~400°F won't they melt or deform?
  17. How about MOPAR FC7 (aka Plymouth In Violet or Dodge Plum Crazy).
  18. Tacos Moreno is the one. I started going to it back in 1987 (that's not a typo) when I was at UCSC, that summer I must have eaten there 6 days a week!! Love those corn quesadillas and the Al pastor burritos, mmmm  . Almost went there last Saturday since I was in Cupertino but once I hopped onto 17, traffic was stopped so I turned around. Oh how I miss it.
  19. Congrats!! I knew it was a done deal as soon as you said you were going to look at it! Let me know if/when you part it out. I could use both front quarter panels and I can come pick them up on my way down to my favorite burrito shop in Santa Cruz!!
  20. Sweet, I have friends that live 1.1 miles away from this MJ!!! I used to live in Livermore. Good luck
  21. You have to remove the brace attached to the radiator support that the header panel bolts to. Your '89 should have nuts that hold the letters in place, at least my '88, '89, and '90 do. In '91 they went to adhesive backed letters and headers without holes in them.
  22. I just had my windshield trim, side window trim, drip rails, and bumpers powder coated black My truck is the exact opposite from yours, no chrome at all, all blacked out. Succumb to the Dark Side!!
  23. Look at the pictures above, that metal piece accepts a clip that the jack handle snaps into. I bought my 1990 new and all that came with the truck is what's pictured in my first post, there was no shorter adapter.
  24. My door panels are off from when I stripped the MJ down for paint. Now my question is should I install the "Door Panel Water Shield" from TeamCherokee (last on the page) http://www.teamcherokee.com/Door_and_Re ... index.html or Dynamat or nothing but the original plastic shield?
  25. The inner measurements at the top of the bed (inside the front rail to the tailgate) of mine are: SWB 73" (6' 1") LWB 87 3/4" (7' 3 3/4") which is a ~15" difference
