I really didn’t need a WilderNest camper but it worked out GREAT! -

Multitasking: doing twice that you should half as well as you could. You need a dedicated 2wd SCCA truck. -
Drilled a series of 5/16” holes, one inch apart, in the sleeping platform support poles to receive locking quick release pins and added adjustable feet for fine adjustment. Originally they had hose clamps but they would always move when load was applied.

Why is the rear wheel so far back off centered?
fiatslug87 replied to Ricky8227's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My guess is since those are not MJ leaf packs the center is off. -
How to lower the rear 1.5-2 inches?

Appreciate that. Maybe I’ll have to set up a “glamour shot” since we can’t take the MJ camping due to space considerations for the dogs.

There’s been a 20lb tank in the box on the front of the trailer. A heat exchanger isn’t necessary, the tank heats up the water pretty well in moderate sun and I don’t plan on doing any hardcore winter camping. Plus a cold shower can be refreshing. 🥶

Added a couple of things to make camping a little more refined. We had a 10lb propane bottle that attached to the FJ Cruiser that we no longer use so I decided to use it for the Buddy heater instead of the 1lb canisters. I drilled a hole in the wheel well for the hose which is plugged when not in use. Here is the tank on the FJ which is how it's transported, freeing up space in the trailer. When we set up camp we now swap the propane tank for the fire extinguisher keeping it close to the cooking area, it's also on a quick release so it can be moved to the campfire or inside the WilderNest easily. The setup inside the WilderNest, you can see the hose going into the bung in the wheel well. And outside. Made a telescoping light standard using a camera monopod attached to a PVC coupling mounted on the tongue with a hose clamp and secured with a small quick fist at the bed lip. Added nutserts and screwed a garden hook to hang a light (sorry for the terrible exposure). Added a shower tent to the FJ, it mounts to the roof rack and is easily removable. The nozzle attaches to a foldable arm that stays on the roof rack and is attached using a small quick fist making it adjustable. All this worked out quite well camping last week. Now to come up with new projects.

Saw it on eBay and wondered if anyone has it or has info about it. I know that Nathan died at the age of 18 in 2023 driving his Miata.

Do you know how your previous one is doing rust-wise in that environment? -

Steering box spacer, goes between the cross member and box. It’s metal not rubber, right? -
