Finally got the winch installed. Been a long time coming and have owned this winch for just shy of a decade. Got some new cable for it, just need to get a solenoid and wire it up

Got a new project started yesterday, pulled the interior out of the truck and power washed the carpet. Needed to be done, had a friend ride in the truck and noted it smelled like rat pee.. sure enough there was a mouse house under the center console. Can’t believe I’ve become accustomed to it.. Thought the carpet was black the whole time until I noticed under the trim and center console was red. No biggy, always thought the black looked nice, except when I started washing it, almost all the black washed off…. dang. Well picked up a couple cans of vinyl and fabric paint and laid it down. Let it be noted, a kid on YouTube did the carpet on his Honda and said it took one can to do his whole front and back. Shenanigans. It look 3 cans to get 90% coverage on mine. But when it was done, looked much better. decent. While it was out figured I’d attach some trim pieces that needed some new Christmas tree plugs and replace the shift boot. hope everyone had a merry Christmas. Have a great new year! Cheers and God Bless.

PomPom started following Identifying a rear axle for parts and Speedo noise question

Good morning all, had a couple quick questions and forgive me if it’s been answered. I’ve searched for the answers and found some that were similar but thought I’d ask and show you what was going on. in the video you can see the speedo clicking and whining when the trip rolls over to a mile. The speedo is reading about 5 mph slower than actual. After it clicks it lands at the accurate speed for a few moments, before dropping back down. Just curious what is causing this sound and why the rollover is so aggressive, and maybe how to fix it haha. second question, this cluster is from a newer model jeep, not an 1986 right? IMG_1931.mov thanks for any and all help. If there is a topic already created that answers this for me, please point me there. Hate to be repetitive.

Little Veterans Day winter time protective measures. Enjoy the before and after. Also, if you’re a veteran, thank you for your service to our country. If you’re not, thank one.

Much appreciated. Have some plans for the ol girl but still getting it reliable and happy. Does do fairly well on fuel economy id guess mid to high 20’s. My son is absolutely obsessed with this truck. Wants to work on it everyday but he is 2 and has the attention span of a 2 year old haha

Thank you, it’s 15%. It was either that or 5% that I had laying around and I’m too blind for that.

Got some window tint installed. I know some people don’t like it but it keeps it cool in the summer and people more honest.

Don’t worry sir I replaced the timing cover and oil pan gasket while it was tore apart. Definitely wasn’t going to cover that train wreck with a new balancer haha Eagle Scout, says your a 2.5 expert, may be reaching out with a couple questions, if you don’t mind (and I can’t find the info on another forum of course)

So had a little bit of and emergency repair over the weekend. Figured it would be a good little PSA for those who haven’t seen it before or as a reminder. over the Halloween weekend, jeep started making a belt squealing sound. Thought maybe it was the cheap PS pump I replaced for the leaking one but it was the harmonic balancer. Upon further inspection, it was rubbing against the inside of the timing cover. How? welp, appears the rubber grommet between the “crank sprocket” and the belt pulley walked backwards. Photos compared to a new harmonic balancer. yay. So that was replaced along with the timing cover. Maybe replace that old balancer if you’re still rocking the OE one and save yourself a timing cover. Or if you’re taking the timing cover off for any reason throw on a new one!

Thank you! Pretty happy with the way it turned out. Going to have to make a matching rear bumper. But of course my mind runs away with “neat” ideas to add to a custom rear bumper. - multiple d ring attachments - built in receiver hitch - spare tire swing? - wrap around corners to wheel well - integrated reverse LED - cb radio antenna mount - high lift mount… or the sport bar… Goes on and on and on indefinitely in my mind… haha

Found a new dash bezel at the local pull it yard in perfect condition and in black. Looking much cleaner!

Good morning all, was hoping someone maybe able to shed some light on a rear axle in my Comanche. The diff cover says D35 but the disc brakes with internal drums are throwing me for a loop. The rear inner drums are shot and I’ll need to purchase replacement parts before attempting to connect the e brake cables. Someone thought it was a ZJ swap but I figure someone may have done this and maybe able to help point me in the right direction for not only parts, but for using brake cables. Thank you all and God Bless!

Also, powder coating is complete. It’s definitely not show quality, but I didn’t want it to be. Just enough to make it look good and work well.

Here is a picture of the rear axle pumpkin, appears to be a Dana 35 to me. Just can’t figure out what that may have come from.
