Here's a link to the Lunghd site on the drum brakes, you want to look at the 2nd picture, under 10 inch Jeep drum brakes. From your pictures, your missing alot of important parts, like the parking brake lever and the strut, which is not available in any parts store......and maybe at a dealer :dunno: If you missing these parts, and the drums, the drums are about $55 -$77 each  I would agree with Mr. Hornbrod - "Might be a good time to convert to rear disks, no?" And of course..........the Lunghd site also has that info :D http://www.lunghd.com/Off_Site_Tech.htm Look under the- Suspension, Steering, Tires, Axles & Brakes - section I have not done a conversion, I know other have on the board have, and should jump in on advice. In the long run, with the vital parts missing on your D44, this might be the best option for you. And.......need it be said, while you have it all apart.......change the outer axle bearing too

:hmm: I've been here for 2 years, and just broke the 1000 post the other night :D Guest I don't ask enough questions  Anywho........Good to see you back #2 :waving: Sounds like you had a nice business trip to Boston :brows: And congrats on your promotion :clapping: I just hope you don't forget us MJ fanatics over here

http://www.rockauto.com/  Just a side note for the quick disconnect tool.......Harbor Fright has the 4 piece aluminum set for $14.99 for 1/4" - 1/2" and are the same ones that some fool (ME) paid $9.99 for each for at a auto parts store  http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=96834

Not really a bad float, or sending unit, just that these gas tanks have no baffles in them, so the gas slushes around alot. On the good side of this........doing down hill, you got a full tank of gas......but going up hill, you running on empty  Always park facing down hill, and your tank will alway be full :D Kind of solve the high price of gas for you :teehee: The real check would be when your sitting on level ground, and what your gauge is reading. Like 1/2 tank, and you fill up a half a tank, then you know the true reading of the gauge.

The sendER unit is the whole assembly, The sendING unit is the fuel gauge. More than likely, you'll need to order one, although Advance seams to stock alot of parts for our MJ's ;) Most of the OEM fuel pump I've come across are the Bosch pumps, both Rockauto and Advance (parts America) offer the Carter Fuel Pump And Strainer Set, Part # P74155 which is a good replacement. Picture Here One thing, when changing the fuel pump, plan on taking the drive shaft off, provides the necessary additional room needed to remove the sender unit out of the tank. Also a good time to change the O-ring behind the lock ring.

ooh....ooooh....... Chrome Grill :D Well.......almost  The 2.5 and the 4.0 use the same sender unit, and sender (gauge) the only difference is the pump it's self. Yea, I got couple sender unit on the shelf.......just let me know if you need one ;) And the usual pipe line to you :brows:

how to replace floor pans
Wildman replied to lennyKatan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wow  That's some heave metal there for making panels  What you want to look for is some 22 ga sheet metal for repair panels, and if you not going to weld them in, like use sealant and pop rivets, get some Galvanized sheets. This is one place I've had bookmarked- http://www.rustrepair.com/BODY_PANELS/o ... HEROKEE.84 And then there's Keystone and Continental if there near you, but I don't think either one carry the floor pans. The floor pans are not that hard to make, and if your carpet or mat is going back in.......easy to play with, and not have perfect  lets put it this way, the last time I priced a sheet of 22 ga, 4 x 8 it was about $26, the pans are well......more that that, so you can make about 5-6 floor pans out of one sheet.........do the math  -
Taz - Just how good it that HF gun???? Been looking to upgrade........my PC, 450# just don't cut it on this Northern rust belt stuff some times, but I know it splits the HF impact sockets  Just lost a 22 mm socket..........again  And now..........back to the regular scheduled topic ;)

Thanks mvusse!!! How are you guys voting so quickly?? It's better that you don't know.......So don't ask :brows:

The wheel flairs for the rear are only for the MJ, and they are handed, left or right. There are no other 'stock' wheel flairs that will just bolt up to the rear wheel wells. XJ's are not even close to size, and many topics have been posted about this. As far as color, most all the Sportruck models I've seen have Black wheel flairs, and most Pioneer models have body color painted flairs. I would say.......leave them for now, and latter, if you really want the body color, or some other color (Purple) rough them up and paint them the color you want, right over the black.

The BA10 transmission mount is a very obsolete part, the only place I've come across one is there- http://www.teamcherokee.com/Transmission/index.html (bottom of the page) OR......if some one on here has a use one on hand. I have a couple in the parts piles if no one else near you offers one up.

OK........back on the subject  .......... I stop at one place, they are selling Rhubarb for $2 for a "bunch" about 10 pieces, a good pound or so.......no scale.......so guesting. I would guest that about 4 "bunches would give you about 5 pounds or so......and shipping about $6-7.......So.........your call ;) Yes, this was thick and not scrawny looking stuff. {off topic} - Crack only rots out your teeth after it burns half your brain cells out ;) Oh......and speaking from NO personal experience here. Wahoo.......no hard feeling.......just something like that "typed" when you don't know the man, or anything about him, well, it's just down grading. I think your expiation puts this to bed.

Well......I was just returning a little fun........I'm all for fun and games......and the first one to pull a joke on some one.......just ask JT about that :brows: Of course........he hasn't called in quite some time......... :hmm: But..........some things just cross the line a little too much, and what I don't like is personal insults, not saying that was one......but just some things are left unsaid, it's better that way. Has nothing to do with taking the 'serious pill', has to do with being mature :D I think Don's bug is getting to you Wahoo........and driving you a little  [And don't take that as a personal insult]
-
That was not nice.......you broke one of the 3 CC rules :thwak: Oh.....I agree about the shipping......but.....If I can find is for less than $3 a pound, and the shipping would be about $6-7.....then he's ahead.....Plus, you know the Rhubarb from north of the Mason/Dixon line is Much better :D

Off hand........I would say........NO Way!!! The tractor is about 1000 pounds heaver than the MJ, plus the weight of the trailer (+/- 1200#), plus, the MJ is only like 6 foot wide, and most tandem trailers are 8 foot wide, wheel/out/wheel. And the FSM mentions for a class III hitch (factory), Maximum gross weight of 5,000 pounds for the trailer, with a maximum tongue weight of 750 pounds. With - trailer sway control, trailer wire harness, heavy duty axle, heavy duty cooling system, heavy duty alternator/battery, auxiliary automatic transmission fluid cooler........and......4.0 engine. Plus anything that big......I wouldn't tow with out trailer brakes. I would leave this up to the bigger 3/4 ton trucks ;)

I'll swing buy one of the Farmer's market's tomorrow, and see what's is selling for around here :D And now that you mentioned it.......I've seen Strawberry/Rhubarb pies in the dinners ;)

What do you think it will take....
Wildman replied to LJRockstar's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's well said :D Before you start jumping to conclusions on what the insurance company "might" do, go talk to your agent, and find out what's going to happen. If the other driver was sighted.......then "there" insurance should cover you, and at worst, the insurance company should offer you a "buy back" option. Get the low down from your agent, and hope for the best. And really sorry that this happen to your baby  -
Man......every time I read this.......I'm reminded of This. aemsee - Here's a little budget saver for the disco. I'm sure you could fab up some for your self, I've seen a couple of disco setups, and it looks like the company's used 1/2" emt (electrical metallic tubbing) for the disco's

Haha......this is an odd request :rotf: Shouldn't you have this in the Classified section......under WTB :???: Yea, I know what it is, we use to have it in our back yard, my mother alway made pies out of it, and you can eat it raw too. It's sold in the stores all over around here.........send me a PM with your shipping address, and I'll send you some ;) But if you know.......Rhubarb is one sour thing......make sure you add alot of sugar to it :D
-
True.......I have both in the shop, and compared the two, the way the back is tightly curved, it would be a tough challenge, but possible. Yea, a XJ could be a better hit and miss than making a cardboard backer.

Yogi Berra. Who else could get away with some of the saying he said over the years :D

where can you get new break lines
Wildman replied to JpComancheKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They could have.......I try not to look at Toyota's at all, even sitting at a red light, I look the other way  Like I said, I've seen them on the older trucks from the 60's & 70's, I have no idea when they were phased out.
