Or did the poster have 2nd thoughts and pulled his own add???(Which I'm thinking) Like who would sell an MJ at 5 in the morning, with out even anyone looking at it :hmm: Of course I know someone whom buys MJ's over the phone with out looking at them.......but not at 5am.........
  2. Actually, his last name was Smith. I'm surprised you didn't remember that Lord Hornbrod

    calling Wildman

No I didn't :( But If I had seen it, I would have :headpop: Haven't had too much extra time to spend on C-list. So.......how did you let this one get away??????? :fs1:
  4. Good thing you posted this.........I don't think anyone believed me the other day.......well Lord Hornbrod did.......... Yea, get done with the move and get back on here
  5. The soft line can also cause a caliper to lock up, with the soft line acting as on one way valve, buy "collapsing" internally. I agree that it's "better" to replace the calipers and rotors as a pair, instead of just one side.
  6. Check out this link, about 1/2 way down the page is the EGR valve "test"...... ;) http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... ostics.htm
  7. There one of them old postal jeeps around the corner from where I live, it's at a dry cleaning store, and they got bars on the window to make it look like a paddy wagon. I know..........Pictures........ I bet they don't know that its worth that much $$$$ :teehee:

    carhartt

Although Carhartt is "the best"............I've found that the items offered by C. E. Schmidt are very good, if not better features. and not as stiff, for about 1/2 the price. Tractor Supply carries the Schmidt line. And.......never tried it my self......but e-bay :dunno:
  9. One thought is the EGR valve might be on it's way out :hmm: A plugged / shot EGR will choke the engine right out, cold or warm. It seams that your having a problem with the cold engine, while the ECU is in 'open' loop. It could also be the O2 sensor causing your problem. Try the EGR valve first, just unplug the vacuum line going to it, and plug the line, see it that makes any difference with how it runs cold. If no change, then change out the O2 sensor. or even change / swap out the O2 pre-heater relay, 2nd relay on the right shack tower.
  10. Lord Hornbrod - with Xmas just around the corner......... This is the perfect gift for the ones that leave something on - http://www.mykmart.com/DieHard-Portable ... 46-reviews And if you catch it right, like I did last year, for $35, it a great little device :brows: You just need to train the right person to plug it in to charge it up once in a while....
  11. JT called me today, He is still moving into his new "house" and after all the problems with getting things set up, has been moving boxes all weekend. He still don't have internet, but not for too much longer :D Want me to drop a big Howdy to ya'll :wavey: Oh, and his collage classes are kicking his butt too........ :teehee: If anyone needs to get a hold of him, drop me a PM, and I'll relay the message. Now, for most of the 'old' regulars around here, now you know why this place has been so quite the past couple months :rotfl2:
  12. I'm guessing it would be put to better use by giving it to the daughter. You can't fix stupid. :fool: Willy  Yea, I guest I didn't think of that............ :teehee:
  13. Easy answer KYMJ............Turbines all the way  Much nicer wheel than the stock steelies
  14. So.........it sounds like you had a nice trip........and a easy fix on Ralph...... :D So, for Xmas, you going to buy Dweeb a Haynes Manual............ :teehee: Glad it all worked out nice and easy for you.
  15. I see that  But tazjeeper has way more XJ's than I have........They do make great donors for the MJ's  Only bad thing I see, it parking them on the grass/ground..........steel really likes to wick up the moister out of the ground :headpop: Nice start of a collection  I really like that 2 tone paint combo :D
  16. I thing the OP already cleaned me out :( Yea, I'll look to see what I have..........
  17. Yea, a Pennsylvania Redneck :teehee: Just don't forget to unhook the which line before you go out for more rabbit food.

  19. Try here - http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=94961
  20. Yup, that's Rob and Don watching over us........................ :rotf: Well.......I like chrome........so I'm safe here :D Great Pick Pete, I know both automan and Mr. Hornbrod will hold there high office with honor and keep the saneness here. And glad to hear that Mr. Eagle will still have a hand in here
  21. I'll agree that your '89 engine is shot, But.......your jumping 2 generations in engines here, the 2nd generation 4.0 ('91 - '96) would be a better choice for a swap, like Geonovast wrote, you have the coil packs on the 3rd generation engine, yea, you can get around that, but think about the engineering that went into that change, and your going back 10+ years, what else was changed....... :hmm: Also, what are you planing on using for the drive train??? The Renix transmission, or the newer Chrysler tranny??? The 3rd generation auto tranny will not work with the Renix era system. There are plenty of good used 4.0's out there, both the Renix and the Chrysler (2nd generation) Just don't get and engine from one of them C4C :teehee:
  22. If you have a vacuum leak, it should start, but run rough........and I'm sure you know that  But........if the EGR valve is bad, that may "choke" out the engine, pull the vac line to the EGR and plug it, and see if that makes a difference :dunno: Is this the same engine you were asking about using a new timing chain, and the old sprockets???

    :redX:
  24. This is my helper for times like this :brows: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=35448 If you replace the timing chain, and didn't turn the crank or cam shaft in the process, then the timing should be set as it was. It is "best" to use #1 cyl for TDC, and I know, the AC pump is in the way, but a little prob helps that problem (a small wooden dowel) Just make sure it's on the compression stroke.
  25. Now you know where that saying came from........" It's a Jeep thing......" :rotfl2: You might have just had a vacuum lock in the fuel line, and doing the pressure test, "unlocked" it :hmm: It's always the easy fixes that work out the best......K.I.S.S........ :brows:
