Kayaking. I tried to buy a Grumman canoe at an auction 15 years ago or so, found out I was bidding against a friend, so I quit bidding.

Slight bucking and missing issue?
KYMJ replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You might try adjusting tyour TPS as well. I had similar conditions that were cleared up by adjusting it. -
Good stuff. I put new battery cables on the truck when I bought it years ago and I recall the braided ground at the back of the head came out of the connector at one time and I simply re-crimped it. I really intended to replace it, but never did. I will deal with all this when I get a chance. Thanks.

no, I did not, my reasoning was because my readings on the tps was 5 volts as described in the Renix diagnosis chart and I was short on time. Maybe flawed reasoning, and the latter should be done, do you have a link?

Sorry about that, been busy working midnights. The truck was stumbling and idleing badly, but intermittantly. Another update, I checked all my sensors yesterday and replaced the thermostat. I use Fail Safe stats, so it wasn't reaching the proper temp. I also found my tps woefully out of adjustment. I suppose that might have been it, the truck ran great going to work last night and back home this morning(25 miles each way). A few sensors didn't have the proper readings, manifold temp sensor, coolant sensor, so I may replace them. Anyway, I've heard it a million times, don't overlook the simple things, and yes I'm guilty. Big thanks to cruiser54 for his very clear post on tps adjustment procedures.

4.0. Update, drove to work today and the truck is doing good again, so I guess I have some more digging/diagnosis to do. I'd rather just go buy a new DD'er.

So, I've put 3 on my truck over the past year. Today, it looks like I'll need a fourth. Every time I replace it, the truck runs perfect. The first was a cheapo from e-bay and it lasted about 6 months. The second was a BWD from Advanced, because it was the only one I could find local-lasted about 6 months. I just replaced it under warrenty Saturday morning, truck back to running great. Driving home from work yesterday morning it starts running bad again. So I need to buy a fourth I suppose, so I'm looking for recommendations. Or maybe there is something else that might be causing these to go bad. Thanks for any help or advice.

Turn signals are slow blinking ???
KYMJ replied to TooTall's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The grounds in the front turn signal/parking light sockets are bad, they are feeding power back to your cluster. Change your sockets, I think most of us have been through that. -
The local window shop quoted me $75 to reseal mine, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Assuming they didn't break it in the process, there's always a chance. And, that's also assuming no rust, luckily I didn't have any.

Water leak on passenger side
KYMJ replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Once I replaced the window seals, I still had a leak. Found it around the back window and the windshield. I had to remove all the trim pieces and do the powder trick to find those, which I haven't repaired yet. -
handle missing, tailgate stuck closed
KYMJ replied to H8PVMT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I believe I've use a small screwdriver to work the latches on the sides. Or, you could fish out the rods that connect to the handle with a magnet and pull both to release the latches. -
Ray Harm wildlife prints. I've quit now, I have them running out my ears. :dunno:

There's a pair out in a barn at my MIL's she had a BRAT years ago. Didn't know they were worth anything.

Yeah, ha ha. The new job will be part time. But, that and my retirement will be the first substantial raise I've had in years. I plan on voluntering more with my wife, she's the activity director with a state run veterans retirement home.

I've just gotten back from filing my paperwork to retire from a career I loved. I've been given an excellent oppurtunity to stay somewhat in my field with a local aluminum smelting plant who hires retired firefighters in the security department. I'll be doing security/EMT/firefighting/Emergency response team/HazMat, so I'll be doing alot of what I've been doing. I was just ready for a change of scenery and am very excited for the opportunity. :jump:

Mine came from Oreilly's and was a Dorman, no problems. You got the wrong part. -
Who has ordered replacement carpet?
KYMJ replied to rejeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Pretty much sums up the e-bay suppliers as well, thats where I bought mine. -
I'm off as well, but do miss old friends and places like CC. I can do without the current "freinds" and what they had for supper and what not. :D

Idle Air Control valve. I'm fighting that right now. Stop the truck and let sit for 30 seconds, restart and see if it stops. I replace my IAC last year with a $25 ebay unit and it lasted about 6 months. Bought another from OReilly's , now 6 months later, same thing. But, like I said, stop, shut down for 30 seconds and normal. Pain in the butt, I guess one of the quirks of driving and old vehicle.

I had JKS disconnects that I took of a ZJ on my 4x4 Comanche, I didn't have to modify them. The rest of it, :dunno: ,
