Thought this done best here.... For all the guys wandering about Tellico NC here is a Vid from a trip about 2 weeks ago My local club had. Some guys are Locked but others are not tries are anywhere from 33s to 37s. Just to give you an idea this is one of the nicer but not near the tuffest trails in there. BTW NO MJs ON this Trip just so you guys know This is not Dial up friendly and is 45min long http://209.61.243.112/video/tellico10-06/tellico10131506T9.wmv Cole

Ok I got a reply and they said yes they are double Mil wrapped and they do have them so it sounds like its a good option??? Thought Id let you know. I am considering these to since they are 7 leaves and NEW. Cole

I think 33s might do it but it may be alittle to much. And you may have rubbing issues with the wheels but I'm not to sure. The rub will most likely be when flexing and it will be on the rear on the frame rails. Cole

Go SOA and see what it turns out to be. If its to much just sell the lift you have now and buy front peices.Plus with that much lift you will have issues with steering and trac bar. So your really need to get a List KIT for the front or make a Bastard one out of your fav pieces to set things right. Cole

New 2.5 MJ project...Now a 4.0 H.O. project
JOMJ87 replied to CEThomas's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
The Tellico plains is what Tellico ORV originated from thats why he said up THE trail cause there is only 1 or 2 that are in TN but on the NC side there are lot......And i loved it :D  . I didnt go down the rock garden or up slickrock(thought I lost my T-case) but alot of the others I did till I busted a Tire. I got pics of the trip but i need to scan them in one of them has my pass side about 1.5' off the ground. And BTW I HAD the 4 speed but my Highschool days ended its life so I put in a AX-5 all that had to change was the bellhousing and the transfer case. I was ??anticipateing?? going super low gears so I wanted the overdrive. Cole -
New 2.5 MJ project...Now a 4.0 H.O. project

I got the 2.5 with a manual and I have said this alot but ill tell you anyways. I have 35s and the D35 rear and wheeled all over and drive it everyday and even made it thru Tellico on a all day trip WITHOUT problems. Never broke never came apart.....BUT....Thats not saying they are strong. I am having issues getting a 8.8 or something stronger than the stocker so right now so thats why i still have it. And who is to say when i go to work tommorrow that it will make it without breaking but I have 3 spares so I'm not to worried. Cole -
Damn i thought you looked bigger than that. But maybe it was the big pic and close up shot. I don't know why i didnt realize you hadnt cut anything. What is your reason for getting flares anyway??? I didnt remember you saying??? Cole

Question on my 4x4 upgrade.
JOMJ87 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok Ill explain why i metioned Drive shaft issues....Let say your current setup contains A transmission and transfer case the in total legnth are 48"s. K now you swap them both out with a different type from a different vehicle. The replacements have a possibility of being different lengths so lets say they are 45"s long. Now you have 3" you have to make up for in D/S length. Now i don't know alot about the tranny you are going with but It is possible its of different legnths. Sorry for the long discription but i wanted to make sure you got what i was saying fully. ;) Cole -
Question on my 4x4 upgrade.
JOMJ87 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ds may not work off donor since your not useing that exact setup (could be longer or shorter. Also $800 sounds high to me but i did everything to mine myself so i really don't know about that. If I was you and of course I'm not I would find someone close to you (like Shaw AFB or something) ;) And put everything in that bolts right up one weekend and then get the rest done up at a shop or by another good buddy that might have the means to do it. just my 2 jingles of sense. Then you can take that $800 buy a couple  for your buddys who helped and do more to the MJ to make it how you want. Good luck on your decision. Cole -
Looks like you hit a deer or an old lady and then back over her a few times with the Bumper on the blue one. :teehee: But like the pics but sorry to here no fix for the 86 yet. Good Luck Cole

I meant Bulky sorry bout that got in a hurry. But I have heard of ALOT of them exploding on the trail when brushed against a tree. And about the lights I have plans to maybe get some lastic solder and fill in around the light and then smooth it out and paint it so they are not there. I had on of mine when I caught it on a tree (before the last trim job) and it bent WAY up and it didnt even crack. BTW what size tires are you running??? Your track width looks almost exactly like mine when i had stock flares I have 35x12.50s on mine with 8" wheels. Cole

I'm at 7.5 or more in the rear with SOA in my short bed and only had to lengthen my DS alittle but no SYE and i don't see any use for it. Had 0 issues with it pulling out or cramming in to far. With a Long Box there may be a difference though. Cole

What do you not like about the TJ ones??? I was just asking cause i love mine but i can see why people don't like them. Personally I hate the bushwackers cause they stick out so far from the sides and look way to boxy for me. If you plan to cut alot of fender the TJ work out great. Cole

I asked about the military wrap so ill let you know but that pic looks like it. Cole

I aslo am doing the USA and a made up id tag on the front fender. If you look in the projects section its under one of my to post in there. And thanks for the props hopefully I can find the stencils i like to finish but no body has any good canidates. Cole

Its not the chrome on the grill piece it is the 1'' wide strip that runs around the header and grill area you can see the chrome in this pic Cole

Comanche Service Workshop Manual
JOMJ87 replied to Rokhound's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Some stuff is different from the 86 model to the 87 model i believe Also CDX owned jeep from 87 on so prob not everything but it should cover most. Cole -
Here we go i am needing to know 2 things. First what is the best way to remove the emblems on the header panel?? I think they are just pop off but didnt want to break them. Second How do you remove the trim around the grill? Its the 1" wide strip around the grill and headlights in between the header panel and the grill. Mine is chrome and i want to paint it black but unsure how to remove it. Thanks alot Cole

Yup ever since I was a kid I thought the Warthog was the baddest looking aircraft. And I have heard they can take a really good a$$ whippin' and still bring ya home in one piece. Yeah i have seen pics of some after battle and the thing looked like swiss cheese in some areas. Also seen one with part of the fusaloge(spelling???) ripped off and also part of the right hand motor gone but he fought for 2 more hours and still landed with no harm. Cole

How much lift and what size tires are you wanting to run???? Willing to trim fender??? what do you want to get out of it?/ Just for looks or a good mud truck or rocks?? All this needs to be considered when lifting so that your not disappointed and we can tell you our experiences with what we have or have had. Cole
