Its TBI so theres one to check and its easy to access this is one thing i have yet to check for some reason. :grrrr: :dunce: But i have heard using a timing light you can see if its misting or not properly. :dunno: might try it tomorrow. Cole -
We prob have plenty of parts of of them since we have had to smack down in the past 1.5 years but you don't hear much about that unless you from the state it happens in. I think they fight to keep that kind of stuuf of the world news. And BTW if a F-16 hits the water at a very high rate of speed the biggest chunks left are the size of a credit card and also if you pass out and eject incorectly when you wake up and realize you have screwed up your body will PAY for it. :chillin: Cole

I wish i could help But have have the same exact year and motor and setup and mine does this to and it has since i got it. Even when i first got the truck i replaced all gaskets on from the head gasket up and all sensors and plugs and wires and it still has don't it. So i hope someone can help you with this since it might help me to. I just gave up on it along time ago so i havent researched it ne more. Also let the guy know about this site maybe he will be interested. Cole -
:rotf: You installing a sweet system when you wire that gadget in? I think I'm one of only a few with a sub. Not true, in my 88 at one time I had 2 12" VR4's with a 800 watt amp. Took it to a DB competition that a local sound shop has, and I hit 135.4 with it. Now if only I had my computer I could post pics of it. Had to sell the setup for work on it. I had a rockford fosgate system in mine for awhile and i could hit close to 135 db. Oh yeah not to jack but ill sell you the system out of my mustang if you want to put in your MJ you would just need a diff box for it to fit. :brows: ;) Cole

Another project idea Question On coilovers
JOMJ87 replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
freerock that the design i had in mind. I am not to worried about bed space as long as i have room to haul my trail junk around but don't know if i have convienced myself to do it i am not unhappy with the leaves i just thought id get some more flex. But i am still thinking about it :hmm: Cole -
don't know much about planes but i like them alot Plus I'm in the air force. Oh and we are getting the f-35 here at my base and doing away with our 16s. The airshows are awesome last one they had remote control biplanes that flew at the same time the big biplanes did and copied every stunt sycronized(if that the spelling) together. Cole

Another project idea Question On coilovers
JOMJ87 replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well see thats why i ask questions like this for some reason i did not think of a sway bar or trac bar. I really like the 3 link idea though. I probably Could even base the design off of a TJ if i wanted to. Thanks Brett and one day i will own a beast like yours maybe just one day   Cole -
My dying 4 ticker does alright with 35s and 4.10s I just don't see 5th since i swapped in a AX5 after my young and dumb days exploded the stock AX4. :brows: Cole

Another project idea Question On coilovers
JOMJ87 replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I found a good deal on some and just was passing over plans for down the road. Alsoo If i do this 4 link how i want it should be OK key word there is should be ok to clear the gas tank. It connects to 2 spots on the axle per side but then the bars combine about halfway back into 1 for each side to mount. See this on many CJs and one i helped build. They claim they work unbelievably well and are pretty simple. Even concidered the same setup in the front. And i have thaought about the just plain ole coil springs but i hear lots of good things about the coilovers not really to many bad. Thanks for all the info and GirsMJ 86 if you can find out what was your determining factor on saying no go that would be great cause i want to wiegh out the options. Cole -
Help... it won't start, and I can't figure out why!
JOMJ87 replied to Boiler74's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the make a spark plug tester you can use to make it easier or make a push button start and hook it up to the starter so you don't need a partner for help. You can look up how to make the push button starter that just uses clamps Like a jumper cable just smaller connected to the starter. Just trying to help you solve this ASAP. Cole -
Ok I have another project i am starting to think about adding to my way to long list. Has anyone ever concider or done a Coilover suspension set up on the rear of your MJ. I was wanting to get real good flex and eliminate the chance of axle wrap (which i havent had yet with my SOA) ;) but anyways My idea is as follows: Remove a peice of the bed floor right near the wheel well and attaching a hoop with a support truss to the frame there. Reason fo it being inside is so the coilover will not get in the way of the tire since mine already rubs the frame there. Then makeing a long arm setup and calling it good. So what doo you think good idea or not???theres more to it but i didnt want to get super technical about it yet since i havent commited to adding it to the list of "Want To Happens". Just thought id get some imput from you guys so post away. Cole

Mr. Cappa I just wanted to say thank you like most above. It is very rare that someone would get this kind of response to a couple of emails. You are a true stand up guy and i am going to continue to subscribe to your Mag. If you do ever have any questions about MJs this would be a great place to look. Like said before todays Jeep makers are not the ones that were with AMC which is where the MJ originated so they may be missing some info. Again thank you for your quick action and response to our issue i really appreciate it. Cole
