Just remembered I never posted the hidden train horn install, I did my Ho cooling system swap at the same time, and used the bracket for the bottle to mount my compressor and air tank The actual horn is mounted in the front crossmember, and I wired it into the interior. It runs off of a 3 position XJ rear washer switch, the top position locks in and charges the tank, and the momentary switch opens the valve and lets the horn go. IMG_4690.MOV

I wonder how it would look with MJ or XJ flares on the bed, maybe it’d fix some of the atrociousness of the bed Also yeah that just tops it off
-
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s just those and the charger 500’s, definitely gonna be expensive.

AMC20 Rebuild on MotorTrend

Hummers and Bricklins -
If you wire the lights in series you can half the voltage to 6 volts or whatever and still have the option of 12 volts if you wanted it (this is what we did with the bus) it makes the lights less blinding
-
My dad wired up a set of lights from a school bus for a friend, we used a voltage converter and 2 of the heavy duty flashers to make the lights flash. we wired the lights in pairs and they worked quite well, I’m assuming you could wire the marker lights and headlights if you wanted straight to the converter, or through a couple of flashers to get them to flash independently of eachother

'86 Long-bed mat and new grille
jpnjake replied to Wallace's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The grill changed in 91 I’m pretty sure all the grills from 84-90 are interchangeable, I personally have an 89 and my grill is from a 84 or 85 Xj but it fits just like the other grills -

Got a couple pictures of the 3 mj’s together, this project is still alive, just taking a little break. Currently it’s back on 37’s and it’s a yard wheeling truck.

Will fitted XJ front floor mats fit a Comanche?
jpnjake replied to dasbulliwagen's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sweet interior, here’s what the ones in my MJ look like. They are the rugged ridge and they fit pretty good and have little spikes on the bottom that hold them in place but don’t damage the carpet -

Lol it was great to meet you today and have a chance to talk for a bit. I really hope that trans will get it going again. Maybe next time it won’t be pouring rain and we can actually look at the projects lol. Definitely excited to see those black buckets -

Hey I have a 4wd 33k mile 3 speed automatic that you can have, I’m in Nh, message me if you want it. It came out of a 92 wrangler you can have it for free -
Lol yeah we still got his MJ sitting on 37’s, at some point me and him are gonna get it back road legal, and he can 4 wheel his while I 4 wheel my xj but neither of our off road rigs are ready for the road

Originally it was in case of a rollover as single cab pickups aren’t the strongest in a rollover, he figured at least it would help keep from dying and no problem, the old man really wanted me to post these pictures for him lol

This is what a CJ and YJ rollbar look like together if you cut the legs off, and connect them, the width is pretty good. Not too sure about one tho This is what my dad ran back in the 90’s
