Normally you can see the leak from where the rod slides into the rubber boot. If yours is dry, you can clean up the old fluid and cross your fingers.

The 87 had been lowered so the leaf packs, shocks, and front coils were of no use to me. I swapped in the leafs from Jake's MJ (gogetemturbo) and coils from a late 90s XJ. I had about 10 minutes to purchase shocks at the closest Autozone and they only carried Gabriel so I got the Ultras front & back. I have never had Gabriels before and I hope they are decent quality. Once I bleed the brakes and mount the front wheels, Red October will be road worthy.

Mine improved quite a bit after I replaced the IAC. Remove yours and clean it up along with the port it fits to the throttle body. If you have a lot of carbon build up, it will effect the idle.

Seems like more and more, large companies or agencies do not put much effort into customer service. Good customer service costs money. The only non caustic hand cleaner I've had good luck with is GOOP Hand Cleaner. It can also be used as a spot cleaner on fabric.

In taking the r/r axle out to fix a leaking seal on the 87, I put it back together and had my son give a little gas while I checked for leaks. I assumed only one side would rotate but was surprised to find both wheels rotating at the same rate. This seems to be the original axle. Did the Mjs come with posi gearing on a 2wd or could it just be rotating because there is no weight on the axle?

Is the picture flipped around or is that RHD?

I have the same issue on Red. I have a GC booster/MC on the shelf. Is there a way to test it before installing or do I install it and cross my fingers?
