  1. Harbor Freight sells them for $4. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsea ... tethoscope
  2. Nature abhors a vacuum! In other words, when we fix a problem on our trucks, the universe will fill that void with something else. Comanche owners never seem to have nothing to fix. (Sorry, no help)
  3. When you re-installed the IAC, did you make sure the O-ring was seated properly and was in good condition?
  4. If you are sure the under-dash mechanism is functioning properly, have someone depress the pedal while you observe the splitter bracket cables. You should see what is or isn't moving during E brake operation and narrow down the problem.
  5. You get first dibs to post that picture on here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=15780
  6. You're not married, are you? If you were, you wouldn't need a new wallet!
  7. Thanks, I'll be replacing these soon so I wanted to be certain.
  8. I want to replace the valve cover breather hoses, front and back, and noticed they are listed by specific years on teamcherokee. Are they really different sizes or can I use later valves on my 87? If I can use later year valves, are any specific years better than others? http://www.teamcherokee.com/Emissions/index.html
  9. I believe they are the same and it would be a good time to switch to the 97+ rubber trim instead of the metal set-up.
  10. As the gas prices keep going up, theft of gas also goes up. Double check someone didn't syphon your tank while it was at the shop.

  12. Package sent.
  13. If you mean the swivel vents , then yes. Carefully apply pressure from top or bottom of the vent with a flat screwdriver and once it clears the little knob holding it in place, it will pop out.
  14. Thanks Don but I adjusted the TV cable last week so it will probably be the transmission. This truck has the giant fuel gauge with no RPM gauge :fs1: . I don't feel a kick-down shift on grades or when kicking it in the @$$. I'll try to do a drain-n-fill this weekend but I have a feeling that won't improve performance.
  15. Gears are 3.55 and tires are 225/75/15. The axle was just swapped over from my other 88 so I would have the D44 on the 4x4. I don't feel, hear, or smell anything brake related but I'll double check the brake set-up this weekend. Until the tranny is diagnosed, I'm kinda stumped to the cause of such a lack of power. If it needs anything major, I'll have to wait until I sell the one of the 5spd trucks to pay for repairs.
  16. My 88 auto is very sluggish compared to the two 5spd trucks, all with 4.0s. It feels about the same as my 89 2.5 felt. According to a mechanic, the fuel system, motor, and cat are fine and he thinks the transmission could be the culprit. I will have a transmission shop perform a diagnostic test if need be. Has anyone had this experience with the AW4 or should I look elsewhere for the lack of power issue? I have to floor the pedal to get any sort of decent acceleration and it maxes out at 60mph on long grades.
  17. The steering box should have a better ratio and the front sway bar & links might be a little beefier.
  18. To save money you can use a 1 for the I. How 'bout '4X4PIG' for the plates?

  20. I think Teamcherokee sells floor plugs but I don't know if the 86 has different size.
  21. Shipping is a little more than $13 so 25 + 13 = $38. I'm also including the receiving end of the belt in case your existing one happens to be a different width. I'll PM you with paypal info.
  22. I can get to the Post Office on Saturday to check on shipping and then let you know.

  25. You can use XJ seats I believe up to '95 without modification and the 2dr model seats fold forward whereas the 4dr do not.
