  1. That seems to it. The "other" size had something to do with actually mounting and running a fan. My application doesn't do that. So I bought the shorter height and larger diameter hub.. Fit perfectly. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

    Fastenal

Fastenal is the only game in my town for stuff I need now. And they have it. No going to 4 or 5 parts stores hoping they may have specialty stuff. And my work is 3 states away, so no getting that account 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

So I just went there to get some bolts for the MJ. They got a sign up that starting next Monday you have to have an account or 25 dollar minimum order. And if you don't have an account you can only shop at certain hours of certain days. This is a corporate thing and not Covid related. They are my go to source for anything specialty but I only go 2 to 3 times a year. Not enough for an account. The limited shopping hours are what ticks me off. And the employees don't even know the hours yet. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  4. Sounds like we are in the same boat. Jegs has everything you need. Rock auto has most if it. Amazon does too but good luck finding it. The parts stores have most of it as well but require ordering. I've got parts from all. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  5. So what's the difference in factory OEM direct fit pumps. One gives me 2 5/8" diameter hub and 3.72" hub height. Other one is 3.313" diameter hub with a hub height of 2.31" both say they are direct fits for my 4.0L and are OEM. What does the difference do to the belt placement? And why? 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  6. Major surgery started today. A few weeks ago some 30 year old plastic gave way and all my coolant left the engine in A slow steady way. As such I blew the head gasket. Here's the plan...replace said head gasket and replace every single piece of the coolant system. While doing that I'm converting to an open system. As well as upgrading to the 746 injectors. Also replacing the water pump. Over the last two afternoons I've torn it all down. I'm taking every torque bolt I find and replacing it with a hex head. I've stripped three of them on the tbi already. That's tomorrow's job. Get them out. Going to have the head tested tomorrow and reconditioned if needed. Learned one thing today.....this thing has a TON OF VACUUM LINES! And the exhaust manifold is interesting to remove to put it politely. And apparently I never ordered the water pump. Tomorrow afternoon, I'll start cleaning all the surfaces and get ready to bolt back together. Below are few pics of the tear down. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  7. I got to spend 3 days in Moab last year driving home to the east coast from Seattle. Absolutely LOVED it. Drove my old 2wd suburban to Gemini Arches and Potash Road to Shaiffer Trail into Canyon Lands. Trying to make another trip to Califirnia thru Moab this Spring. But Covid isn't helping with planning. If I go, this time I'm taking a 4x4 Grand Cherokee. Just too far to drive my MJ Pictured is my old 99 Burb. I miss that truck. Sold it to buy the MJ. Still not sure I should have done that. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

  9. So true. I went in a career I thought I'd never have to do school again as I hated it Dang if the USCG didn't change the rules after about 10 years of working. Now I'm in school every 2 to 3 years. Last time it cost me 5 grand for 3 weeks. 30 years later, I still hate school. Technology...its coming at us so fast. Long gone are the days of listening to an engine and itll tell you what's happening. Now you gotta break out a laptop just change an injector. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

  12. His degrees are in Computer science and Digital Arts. He wants to make video games. His final project was a PC game he had to create from scratch in 3 months. 13. Proud Daddy moment. This afternoon, My son completed and turned in his last project for college. 2 years at community college and 2 1/2 years at UNCW and He has earned 2 associate degrees and now 2 Bachelor degrees. One of which he is in the first class to earn it at his school. Not bad for an Autistic kid that sees the world just a little bit differently. I get home just in time for his graduation ceremony on December 12. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

  17. Yep, I put a 3000 dollar transmission in this Accord 2 years. Last summer I replaced the entire front end. Car was my son's school thru college ride. He got a new car last month and I took the Honda back to beat around in. I don't like beating around in it. Too low and too small for my 6 foot 5 inch legs. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  18. My rims, steering wheel, and some inside trim pieces came from Watson's. Only 40 minutes from the house. Yeah I'm not reading good things about the trannies or the OEM axles. It has 206k miles on it. Female owner doesn't seem to know a lot of detail about it. It's just a baby and people mover to her. She's looking for a smaller car. Says it runs fine and all the doohickeys work, but I haven't seen it yet. Pics look decent shape but they aren't prize winning photos either. Like any used vehicle, I'll check it out hard. I want a nice ride with some light off-road capabilities. I'm not doing the Rubicon with it. But it will see dirt and mud. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  19. In eastern North Carolina Watson and Sons Jeep Salvage Located just outside of Washington Their only web presence is Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/jeepjunkie/ Just message them, they will reply very soon. And they have Comanches in stock! Don't where he finds them but he does. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  20. Satellite internet sucks! I have to use it offshore. But I do have cell phone hotspots that work really well if you have a signal. Just uses a lot of expensive data. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  21. So I stumbled across an ad for a 94 Grand Cherokee. Girl wants to trade for good dependable car or 2000 bucks. Just so happens I recently acquired an 02 Accord I don't really want. In good shape worth about 2k. I've been thinking about getting an XJ. This is a ZJ. 4.0 automatic. Girl doesn't know what version of the 4wd she has. I think the select Trac is the one I want but I can live with Quadratac. I believe either will get replaced as soon as they mess up. Do I want to mess with a ZJ? It's got all the fancy electronics on it but they don't run the engine. It is an HO motor. Anybody know what I need to look for when I go take a look. Some off-road magazines like them. Are parts and lifts, etc easy to get...cheap? I've read some questionable things about the transaxles being weak. Unlike my 2wd MJ, this one will see mud and hills. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  22. Wow, only a hour from me and I've driven past it a few times and never knew. Might grab Dad and have a field trip after this Covid dies down. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  23. My wife tested positive last Friday. She is pretty sick. I've already had it and I'm immune but they say I can carry it to others. So she is quarantined for 10 days and I've had to quarantine with her for a second time in a month. I was supposed to go back out to sea yesterday, but I gotta stay home til next week. Got paid the last time I was quarantined since I was at sea when I tested positive. This time I was on my time off so I'm not getting paid. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

    COVID Chances

I see people in these home made type get ups every time I fly. If I'm that terrified of something, I just ain't gonna go. I had to go to Quebec to catch it last month. Now this week a worker brought it into my wife's plant and gave it to a third of the employees. She's got it now. I'm not a fan of the masks but if you've been exposed and know you have (co-workers wife) stay home for the 3 required days you will get paid for. Get tested. If you have it, stay home AND GET PAID. Kinda pissed at him. Plant management is too. They've had to shut down for at least a week, maybe 2. The guy (Burmese national) didn't understand stay home you still get paid. I had a cough and that was it. My wife is in the bed sick since last Saturday, and I'm starting to get worried about her. As for the map...it tells me we've got less than 50% chance, but the Midwest is a no man's land. I'd feel better in South Dakota than I would in eastern NC. A whole less people to be around. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  25. That's a beautiful MJ. Welcome to forum from the other side the state. I dig thru here all the time. Some of these guys really know these machines. A ton of good information on here. I'm usually full of questions and not many answers, but the answeres are on here. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
