Saved one from the crusher. However it's been registered as scrap and can never be titled again. This Jeep is completely fixable. Frame is good, no rust on the bed, floor pans are good. Small amount of rust on cab corners and hood. It does not run but will start with starting fluid. 4.0l, 5 speed. 120k miles. Big score with the service manuals. Even got the tail lights. I'm not sure if I'm keeping it for parts or this would be a good candidate to convert to 4x4, jack it up and make a trail rig. Maybe a little bit of both. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Www.ocautocarpets.com. I bought mine from there. To be honest I've haven't installed them yet so I don't know about fitment or quality. But they have them. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original -
Well I got all my permits and I've started hauling fill. Permit process was easy but expensive. Took 4 weeks to get them all. 32000 lbs of sand hauled in on a dump trailer so far. This is 2 16000lbs loads. Got to get at least 2 more loads, maybe 4. But with no gas to be had where I live I had to stop for the week. These Hemi's love gas, especially when towing. Maybe next month when I get home again I can finish it. Hopefully concrete can be laid while I home then also. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I just got my permits last week. I looked for a year before I chose a size, type, and builder. I'm not a carpenter so I'm having a metal building erected but with plans for a lift and other gear. I just bought my new work bench and storage system this after noon. Stumbled across it on marketplace last night just down the road from me. Still new in the box for half what Home depot wanted for the same thing. My planning has been more into that, wiring, light placement, and ventilation (hot in the southeast), parts cleaner, vice work, welding station. Etc. And parts storage. I really like that loft for that. Gonna try and figure out how to make it work with a lift as I'm running out of space real quick. Due to metal price increase I had to lower my roof by 2 feet from my initial quote. In a month price increased 3k. Never Should've waited a month to think on it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Place is looking great. I'm getting so many ideas for my own garage from you. I lay the concrete in late June early July. Hauling fill dirt right now. Love the loft. Gonna have to look more into that. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

You do know codes are different in every jurisdiction right? My wind requirements are not the same as just a little west of me. I don't have to attach tethers like California requires. And yes my builder is engineering and certifying and registering the blue prints there are drawing with the county. They are saying this building can withstand 120mph sustained winds and not blow apart. They are a licensed contractor in the state and it is a requirement where I live. One county away it's not required. When I told the inspector office I was only building a small garage for my car, she said it didn't matter. Every permanent structure in my my county requires this. If caught its automatic 500 dollar fine. And possibly be made to tear it down. Then she gave me a checklist of items required to be submitted. Certified engineered blue prints is on that list 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I deal with the puddle pirates daily. I will buy a beer for The SAR guys anytime. I know when it hits the fan, them boys are gonna move heaven and earth to come get me off this forsaken hunk of floating steel or that 6 foot diameter liferaft in an angry sea. The rest of them I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. The regulation and inspection people are morons. I love how a 20 year old kid from Iowa that's never seen the ocean til 6 months ago is gonna tell me how to do the job I've been doing for 30 years and grew up doing. I'm proud of my service and yes you will be defending our country. Does my heart good that even now there are plenty of young men and women that hear the call to serve. It's a beaurcracy and you will deal with crap buts it's the best decision I ever made. I don't regret a minute of my service. I still serve in the Merchant Marine as well as being a volunteer firefighter when I'm on the beach. Embrace the core principles they instill in you. And if you ever need it seek the help that will be provided. I do feel we are letting our warriors down in that department. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Keep working on your education. Use all the opportunities they provide. My service is dated.(the 80s) but even then in the USAF (which is generally high tech) you wouldn't rise higher than an E5 Without at least an Associates Degree. By E7 you had a Bachelor's and E8 to E9 you needed at least a Master's or even a PhD. If you didn't have this things you would not be allowed to reenlist. They pay for it...get it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Good luck, I was USAF myself. Military will not only teach you a skill but discipline as well. One piece of advice., I have no idea what Cavalry 9D is. Learn a valuable skill for the civilian world. Like my Dad told me, Ain't much call for a tank driver in civilian life. He basically talked me out of being an ordnance fitter on an aircraft carrier. Don't many bombs on 737s. So I joined the Air Force as a Computer systems specialist. Point is look to your future as well. Combat medic, communications specialists etc. Learn a skill. Had a former Marine in my boot camp flight. I asked him why did he reenlist in the the Air Force. He told me all the Marines taught him was how to kill people and he couldn't find a job doing that. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

The builder provides and certifies them. Basically means The foundation will have footers not just a slab and The structure will be built to withstand the wind zone (120mph) requirement of my hurricane prone area. The county requires it of all permanent structures regardless of use. My original contract was for a metal building on a slab. No permits no footers etc. County got involved when the electrical company required a county inspection for the power supply. Also as part I have to have an Environmental impact assessment done by the county. To determine if my building will influence run off and drainage as well as septic systems in the area. Yeah...ENTER THE BUREAUCRATS! all because I wanted lights in it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Just starting a thread here chronicling my new garage build. This isn't going to be quite up to Garage Mahal's build thread. But it's mine none the less. I have big ideas for it, probably bigger than my wallet To start with , it will be a metal building. Foot print will be 24x36x12. With a 3500psi reinforced concrete slab with wire mesh embedded I it. 10×10 rollup garage door, a pedestrian door and one window on each side. It will have a 200 amp service with a separate meter from my house. Water will be provided by a gutter catchment system. This will not be for drinking, just to wash my hands etc. Plans are for a 9000 lbs 2 post lift and up to 220v power. I pulled the trigger and started the process 2 weeks ago. I'm currently doing the ground work. The concrete will be laid in 12 to 16 weeks....yeah long lead time. Building will be erected 4 to 6 weeks later after slab has cured. Below are pics of the progress I've made so far. I stopped hauling dirt when I found the county permitting process has a lead time of a month and I had to submit a surveyed plot plan to them of the proposed site as well as blueprints that I originally didn't have made and certified. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

$8000. That would make a nice profit and give me some change for my next project. It's 2wd, it's not worth 8 grand. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Yeah I found that radiator literally the night I installed the Spectre I have. But By then I was committed as I had bought all the parts. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original -
So after trolling thru here and other Jeep sites I could not find out how or where to mount the overflow tank. Every video on YouTube ends with, "I'll figure out where to put this later." All the posts, videos etc say buy the tank Dorman 603-305. DO NOT BUY THIS tank. It won't fit anywhere on a Renix with the open Relay center. That is for a later year 4.0 with a redesigned relay center and OBD diagnostics. DO BUY Dorman 54002 engine coolant recovery tank. It's universal. It's snug but it fits where the original pressure tank was located. Remove old tank, bracket and the vacuum switch (cap vacuum line). Route the heater hoses as seen. You will need adapters to make the 2 sizes fit. 5/8 to 3/4. I made a bracket out of a piece of aluminum angle. 1 inch. Then I drilled 2 holes in the pinch weld at the top of the firewall. Bolted the angle to the pinch weld. Then I drilled 2 more holes in the Aluminum and bolted the tank bracket to it. I routed the hose across the back of the engine bay from the tank to the radiator cap overflow. You will have to get a little creative on the tank bracket. I had to open the bolt holes a bit and slightly bend them to fit the tank in the hole. You will also need to massage the wiring harness up and forward just a bit. I kept the Aluminum angle a little long for any future mounting of anything....lights???? I hope this helps anybody else with this modification. And FYI, the electric fan is now manually operated with a wiring harness and relay provided by K Suspensions. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I've lived in coastal NC my whole life. Place I grew up on flooded 4 to 5 times a year. We lived in the Marsh on a creek. I've been cut off from the rest of the world more than once for up to a week. Hurricanes were just another part. We never called it prepping. We called it surviving. I grew up with Hurricane supplies being a normal thing. Every Spring we buy a few cases of water, batteries and such. At least 2 full propane bottles for the grill. Our freezer stays stocked. Little known fact, the first 3 to 5 days after a hurricane we eat really good. Gotta eat before it thaws. We had a house generator growing up and now I have one on my house, wired in. All I have to do is flip a breaker. Every Spring I buy 20 gallons of fuel for it. At the end of hurricane season I pour it in my vehicles and get fresh in the Spring. As for ammo and such...I could start my own ammo store. I only own a couple of rifles, 3 pistols and a shotgun, but I got plenty for all. I live on a rural area, God help anyone trying to loot this area. Bunch redneck hardworking farmers around here are crack shots. Tend to get that way when we put dinner on the table with a gun. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

More respect Drove it to the DMV to renew the tags. Had to wait in your car, we'll call you scenario. Guy next to me out of the blue walked up wanted to buy it. Turns out he is a retired Jeep/AMC mechanic. Said he had owned 7 of them over the years including 2 brand new ones. Sold the last one about 10 years ago. Spent 30 minutes talking and showing off the truck. Nice guy and it was obvious he knew the trucks and different powertrains. Said the absolute worse thing he hated about them was the clutch slave cylinder location. Why did they have be so hard to get at. Had to turn him down...just got it running again so I'm gonna drive it for a bit 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
