Yeah. I'm still flipping back and Forth but my wife made the decision when I went to her looking for more money for the garage. Her answer, "You spent it all." 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

And a complete set of Mopar service manuals came with it. Yeah I'm keeping those too. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I bought it out of a junkyard. He had already junked the title. It can never be titled or put on the road again. It's either some great parts or a trail rig. As for parting out, it has some stuff I want. Engine doesnt run and is missing some stuff. I'm keeping the bench seat (making a shop couch), tail gate and taillights for spares for my other comanche. Maybe when I get back home I'll pull those, take some pics and see if somebody wants the rest. Kind of want to make it a trail rig, but I need money now to finish the garage (buy a lift) and this is where I see getting most of it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I used to trade cars regularly at 100k. They were worn out. My daily driver is a 2012 Ram with 102k miles on it. I have no intention of getting rid of it. I'm beating around in my son's old 02 Honda with 168k miles on it. He is now driving my wife's old Impala a 2013 with 98k miles on it. We gave it to him as a graduation present after college. My wife however is the lucky one. She has a brand new Honda Pilot with less than 5k miles on it. Her last three cars were whatever we could afford that met The need to tow a handicap trailer with a motorized wheelchair and her mother could get in and out of. Never what she wanted. After 3 cars and 15 years of that, it's no longer a requirement and I told her to go pick one out, whatever she wanted. The Pilot surprised me, I was thinking Tahoe. The Comanche has 113k miles on it. I can work on the Comanche and I've had to. The 02 Honda has had numerous repairs that make it a new car and other than the tranny, I've done them. I've never touched a bolt on the Ram or the Impala other than normal maintenance. About 2010 or so, they started making good cars again. And I ain't about to touch anything on my wife's pilot. Too many electronic computer gizmos on it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Pic of what I'm parting out. Decided I need the money to finish garage more than a trail rig. Nothing is for sale yet. But will be soon. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Ok, I've decided to part out my spare Comanche, I'm getting ready to pull the rear axle off. I'm parting out my second MJ and the dana 44 is has the most interest now. I'm still going to need to move the truck around my shop for a while as I strip it down. Short of a forklift or a fancy frame table, how are you moving the truck around? I'm looking cheap here and I don't have another axle to mount. I'm not dragging it across a brand new freshly coated floor either. I'm thinking just sit the frame on wheel dollies??? Maybe Jack stands on the dollies, is that safe?? Plan is to sell some parts and keep others (tail lights, tailgate, and bench seat). I want to strip it then sell parts as I get them off. Hate to sell still attached. With my work schedule it may be months before I can pull a sold part off. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

As you know in my other post, I built this over the last 6 months. Or rather I wrote checks on borrowed money and watched other people build it. I coated the floor and will be doing the electrical myself in the next month or so. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Weighing the same options myself. I want the mini split but my shop walls are not insulated. My ceiling and doors are. So I may just do a window unit over my workbench area and have it blow towards where I'll be doing most of the work. A window unit is a lot cheaper and I'll never get the entire shop cold. Maybe just knock it below 100 degrees at 1pm in July. Either way, ain't nothing happening til next Spring. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

2 layers of Epoxy added to the floor. Tomorrow I clear coat it with a polyurethane top coat. Going for the "wet floor" look. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Been waiting April. And today I got it! Now what? Hopefully tomorrow I'll be sealing and coating the floor. That system was delivered yesterday. Now would be the time to insulate it, but I'm out of money so that might have to wait. Life has happened and I need some storage space now. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

That it does, but it's backup, the K12, is the ultimate lockpick. Although at a mini storage fire a few months ago a lot of people learned that the saw requires oxygen to run. What's not present inside a heavily burning building? 85 units opened up the hard way. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Exactly my feelings as well. Just make it hard and maybe they will pick an easier target That being said, as a firefighter there's not a lock out there I can't get past. Of course the gate, door, or wall might not be there when I'm done, but I can get past it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Mine won't have your craftsmanship(I am NOT a carpenter) but it is custom made. Told me it'll take the crew 2 days to build it. Then I get to do the electrical and floor coat system. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Looks great with some awesome craftsmanship. Be sure to take care of that noggin. Hope it's nothing more than a bruised ego and skull. Hoping to get mine erected next month. Foundation is currently in its 28 day cure state. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Nice looking ride. Personally I'm a Mopar guy myself. I love my 2012 Ram Hemi. Hope to drive it a few more years then get me a new 2500 cummins when I retire. Hope yours is as good as mine has been. 110k mikes and zero issues. And I've pulled a 7500lbs camper all over the eastern US with it. Good tough trucks. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original -
Shame....that body still looks pretty good in the picture. That stuff getting hard to find now. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

If all you're gonna do it drive it. It's a decent transmission. If your going off-road regularly it's a different story. That being said, I've already got one just sitting and waiting for the original to grenade. And I just drive mine around town. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Yes you have the Puegot. The switch was made on March, 9, 1989 Nice looking truck, ain't many that age around without any body issues. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

So what does that "trap" do? I've always had good luck with piece of rebar shoved down the hole and pour some gas on it. A match comes in handy here. Works for fire ants as well. But gas and and lighter can be interesting. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

I've seen that box under there. And wondered what it was. I'm going let everything ride right now. All projects are on hold til I get my garage built. Maybe by spring I can rip drive train out and send the body off to be painted. Then put it back together piece by piece. I want to Stroke it but my end vision is factory original. But I've already converted to an open cooling system. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original -
Renix 4.0 electric fan clarification
tugboat95 replied to Clueless's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Check these guys out. You will need something like this. https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store/p32/Electric_Fan%2FAccessory_Relay_Harness.html#/ I'm not sure how your particular model is wired. You will need a relay. This harness is easy to install, they even have a video. The down side may be the switch. You have have to turn it on or off. It is not automatic. Switch comes with it. All that being said, I can't tell the difference with it on or off. That's in the Southeast. Not quite Arizona but 95+ is normal. Some are of the opinion if it comes on for an overheating situation, it's too late. The set point to come on is 218. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
